I have been buying my tires from Les Schwab since I was a teenager and they just reminded me why. I woke up to a flat tire, filled it up and it was flat within a couple of hours. I called them to se if they could take me the same day and they told me to come on in. I waited inside for about 30 minutes and a technician came out to let me know that the tire was irreparable but the damage was covered by their Road Hazard Warranty and they would put a NEW tire on for FREE! Always excellent service and good quality products with fair prices and above and beyond really which is how customer service should be. Came in for a simple flat fix. Day one I was told that it was impossible to do that day, but If I came back tomorrow, they could get me in at 10:00 AM. It's now going on 12:30 a the truck has not moved. No communication. No ETA's. Just a shrug of the shoulders when I ask how much longer. read more

I had a flat tire on a Saturday evening near Hailey. I called the Hailey les schwab after hours. They sent a guy to change my tire which was unfixable so I could take my granddaughter to church camp on Sunday. Monday morning I took my car in and was on the road by 10 o'clock even with the constant influx of customers. Through it all the staff was so nice and courteous. They didn't even charge me!! I have a very rare Aston Martin and it needed a wheel alignment which was performed at Hailey with Steve Aoyama. He was TERRIFIC! He did all four tire alignment as well as steering wheel alignment and showed me the underside of my car as well as where a few screws were missing. He did a pre and post road test as well. On a recent visit to Ketchum, I had an issue with a tire that was slowly leaking air. I checked in at the front desk of this Les Shwab, and the lady starts taking all of my information (name, address, phone, make of car, etc.). 10 minutes later, I finally I asked her "How long will this take?" She replied that she doesn't know, that there's a whole board full of cars in front of you, and "Maybe 2-3 hours". This was annoying enough, since a wait that long should be told to the customer before you start taking their information down. Hell, even the local pizza shops warn you if the pizza's going to take longer than an hour to get to you BEFORE they take your order. So I said I'll be back later. When I went out to my car, a mechanic was standing right there next to it with an air hose. I asked him if he'd put a little air in my low tire, and another guy, who was pulling into a bay with a load of tires, yells out "NO!". So the guy with the air hose walks away. In shock, I walk over to him and asked again. "Can I PLEASE get some air?". He eventually relented and added air to the tire, but I couldn't believe that these guys would be such jerks that they'd tell a customer they weren't willing to add a little air to a tire. This town needs another tire store, BADLY. I feel bad for the locals that have to deal with these jerks. P.S. Les Schwab Customer Service - I'm not going to do your job for you. Reach out to your own damn general manager and let them know how they dropped the ball. read more

DO NOT GO HERE, after having me wait for 5 hours on a rotation and alignment they told me I needed new ball joints. Took it to a different mechanic and was told they looked great and replacing them would just be wasting money. My favorite part was when they told me they didn't charge me for an alignment and implying I was getting special treatment. Our RV lost three bolts that attached wheel covers to the duallys (sp?). Brian and Cody at Les Schwab got the parts in and installed before we we left our RV park in Ketchum. They were friendly and efficient and knew exactly how to deal with a couple of problems they encountered. read more

I need an oil change for my company car so I randomly stop in and they say it will be a 4-5 hour wait, REALLY? at 20 minutes per oil change Hailey, Idaho has 12 oil changes before they can get to me? Ok, I will give them that possibility, can I make an appointment? "No, we don't take appointments, it is first come first served" Ok, I will yield on that one too. So, my next step is to come in right when they open at 8:00 am. So, I show up at 8:03 yes actually 8:03 and am told there is a 2 hour wait. What the He!! 6 people got there 3 minutes ahead of me? I've had my tires rotated, oil changed without incidence. They were quick and efficient. So no real issues to speak of for that task. Took my truck and trailer in to have the trailer brakes inspected. They originally stated they would be done in one day it took two. They told me the trailer bearings needed a repac which seemed reasonable. However, they really didn't seem confident that the work on the brakes was adequate. Frankly, I'm not sure the work was quality either. I believe they could have either done better or refused the work. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this particular Les Schwab- they have us residents at a monopoly so we have to go to them unless it's not immediate help we need. They have sold me tires with a guarantee on them until one has a blowout (although stating I didn't need an alignment twice after blowouts) and I have to purchase a new tire. They put the wheels on backwards (they are directional tires) and then when moving them around to correct Their Mistake- they lose my Audi wheel emblem and say I must have lost it somewhere/or it wasn't there- fact is the only way I would have lost it was that they didn't put it one right or lost it in the shop. I am more than happy to use a Les Schwab again- just never again in Hailey!!! read more

Following up on my previous post...after delays and a promise to complete my alignment on Saturday, it is now Monday at noon with no update from LS. I just called and was told my vehicle is up next and the alignment will be completed today. I have no grudge against LS but they have seriously dropped the ball. Now I have to figure out a shuttle ride to pick my car up on short notice. Lame. read more

I pulled in 1/2 hour before closing on the Labor Day weekend. They were busy. My tire light warning was on. One of the guys checked my tire pressure on all 4 tires and pressure was excessive because of the hot day and our long drive. Not only did he let the air out of the tires to a reasonable level but he also reset the tire pressure warning light in my Audi Allroad which I didn't know how to do. No charge for this service and he did it with a smile and helpful attitude. read more

I have been a Les Schwab customer for over 18 years. 15 of those years I raved about their great customer service. The past 3 years the customer service has been in the toilet. Missing lug nuts, lost tires, mystery flats after switching winter tires to summer tires. Nobody seems to care. read more

Terrible customer service. I tried to get tire work done and they couldn't offer an appointment for three days. Didn't care about even patching or looking at the tire. They said they were way too busy and couldn't take customers. Took the car to Boise Les Schwab and they were awesome. I can't say enough negatives about this center in Hailey. Avoid. The Boise store did the work and had me on the road with four new tires in about 45 minutes. read more

Competent people and reasonable prices but the SLOWEST service on the planet. You could look up SLOW in a dictionary and it would say "see Schwab Tire, Hailey Idaho". I live in Hawaii, a state known for slow service, but Schwab Tire in Hailey Idaho sets the new standard for slow. Look at the other comments, it's a trend and should be addressed. Won't purchase tires here again. Boise and Twin are close and I can drive to either, do a little shopping, get tires and be back in Ketchum in less time than it takes to get them at Schwab Tire in Hailey Idaho. read more

These guys do a great job when they finally get around to serving you. They don't take reservations which may be because they have no competition around. So instead they make you wait 3, 4 or more hours to get tires fitted. Especially if the snow starts falling for the first time of the season. I've been back for the third time and still had to wait all morning. Why not take reservations?! At least your customers could plan their valuable time. They may be great at fitting tires but their business sense otherwise is very poor. Not taking reservations?! I'd pay more to get a definite time. And a huge lost opportunity for not having a tire storage service for seasonal tires. At least they offer free wifi, coffee and pop corn for their disgruntled customers. If there was anyone else in town offering this service, I wonder if Les Schwabb would be more appreciative? read more

I live in Hailey and on the Oregon coast. When I am in Hailey I use Les Schwab for all of my tire and trailer needs. Yes, they do not take reservations nor can they count on what the workload might be that day but they have always been courteous and gotten me thru as quickly as they could even when I am waiting in their showroom. I have had them take me a near closing time even and without hesitation got me out that same day. The tech's are knowledgeable and helpful when choosing the right tires for your vehicle and give you several choices. If you ask for their opinion what you should do they are always unbiased and fair. Your records travel with you in their system so they can quote me in Hailey and I can get my tires in their Lincoln City Oregon store if needed. I give them high marks for both fairness, accuracy, helpfulness and customer service. read more

I stopped in this morning about 9:00 am to have my snow tires swapped out for my regular seasonal tires and was told it would be about 2 hours to accomplish. I told them I probably would not wait and to call me when it was done, and headed out. Around 12:00 pm I decided to go back to the shop to see if it was done and maybe they hadn't called me. Upon arriving I saw my vehicle still sitting where I had left it. I asked if it was done, or when it would be done and the administrative person queried in the shop for a few minutes, came out and told me I was next! I then saw a tire tech immediately go out to my vehicle and pull it in to the shop. 20 minutes later it was done. It was clear to me that they had been servicing other vehicles ahead of mine because I wasn't waiting onsite and jumped on my work as soon as I was standing in front of them wondering what was going on. It only took them 20 minutes to swap out the tires once they started! Very poor customer service and handling. They could have had me in and out of there within the hour for a task that clearly was quick to perform. Instead, they made me wait 3 hours before standing in front of them to ask if my vehicle is done and why it isn't yet. Not at all happy about that. read more

I was not too pleased with the selection or the sales process here. They did not have tires for my Jeep Wrangler which I feel is a pretty typical car. Then they tried to sell me Toyo tires for $261 each which they could order. I'm sorry but I have never heard of Toyo. They never gave me any other choices and they could not tell me the ratings on this tire. I went around the corner to Wood River Motors and got two quotes on 2 different tires, Bridgestones and Generals. In each case I was given a printout describing each tire with a photo and ratings. Saved $300 overall by going with the Bridgestones. Would have saved more with the Generals. Long story short: you should shop around and not take the first price. I think that Schwab should work on their customer sales process. People need choice and info. read more

I have a hard time with this one, while the work I have had done in the past has always been good and fair, this last interaction had left me without a truck for 2 1/2 weeks with very little communication. I dropped my truck off to have my tires rotated and check the bushings. Was called back the next day and told the bushings were bad. Was told they wouldn't order the exact company for my lift because they wouldn't stand behind the product, fair enough. Told them go ahead and order what they need and recommend. Didn't hear anything for 4 days. Call to see if they had ordered the parts... nobody knew anything about it. Guy I was dealing with was off. They didn't even know they still had my truck. Two days later I get a call the parts have been ordered but are on back order for a week, alright. Three days after the parts should have arrived I had to call again. Was first asked if the truck was still there.....then the parts are there but no work has been done. They might get to it in the next three days, maybe. That was Thursday. It's Sunday. No communication, no work done and still without my truck. Hell they don't even know where my truck is. Picking it up first thing Monday and taking it somewhere else. Update. Corporate reached out and helped all they could. The repairs couldn't be done or wouldn't. Didn't even do the tire rotation I was willing to pay for. Will continue to use les Schwab, just not this location. read more
