A guy comes out and I ask if they're closed. He says "yes, it looks like rain and we didn't think we would have any business...I'm the owner". Total fail. I arrived 15 minutes before they closed. Two guys washing cars. I pull up. They keep washing cars. I get out of my car and inquire the cost. He quotes $35 for my small SUV. More than my regular place but I like going close to home when possible. I leave the keys in the car and go to sit down. He calls me back. Says they aren't taking any more cars. The shop would get five stars but they are a bit disorganized and it can be confusing who you're supposed to talk to. Some of these guys are artists, and their craft is detailing -- they work hard, take their time to be thorough and thoughtful, put love into it, so it can be worth a little wait. $25 for the deluxe wash & clean inside & out $35 for the wax, which needs at least an hour They're professional, pretty decent prices, I came toward the end of their day and they stayed late to finish, but best to go early so that they have time to do a good job. Very, very thorough and I was honestly shocked at how little they charge. Even after I gave a sizable tip to the guy who did the work, it was still less than I expected to pay. If I were you, I'd expect to tip the guy who did the work at least $20. Don't be a tightwad. Show some appreciation for the very excellent work done on your car. Keep in mind is that this isn't a quickie operation. This one guy worked on my car steady for nearly 2 hours! Worth every penny. I've been to other car washes that are assembly line operations, where the car gets moved along from wash team to wax team to vacuum team. Quick and sloppy. The car gets cleaned, but the wax job isn't very good and the vacuum work misses a lot. The work done on my car was everything I could have hoped for. A fast, hardworking, honest crew works here. Got my car washed and much more... I drive by HOT BOYZ (well, it's what the sign says!) Car Wash every day I go to work. Last week, I finally decided to stop in a have my car washed. I had checked the schedule for rain (all clear), made sure it wasn't a Friday or Saturday (because they are hella busy with all The Playas cleaning up their rides for the weekend action) and went down with my new little Zenn (all-electric plug-in). The older gentleman (Daniel?) got the younger guys to start on my car right away and invited me to sit in their shaded waiting space. I was introduced to Money (what a character) and we just kinda starting shooting the shit. They asked alot of questions about my Zenn, and then we started talking about our neighborhood. Turns out Daniel grew up here and told me really interesting stories of how our neighborhood integrated in the 60's. I'm a junkie for that kind of history. He also runs a not-for-profit group that focuses on at-risk youth, teaching them job and life skills. His group is Knock Out the Violence.
