I stumbled upon Aux P'tits Crocs unexpectedly; the heavily-spiced aroma and the maneuvering hot steam of the vin chaud stand right in front pulled me back a few feet. I realized there was a restaurant behind and I was hungry--plus the Chocroute was about €10 less than the other fancy restaurants around; I was sold! It's not fancy by any means, and it's not all decked out in extravagant Christmas decor at all to catch your eye, but if you want a simple, no-frills meal and you have no high standards, this is a great place to grab a meal. I got the Choucroute 4 viandes (kassler, smoked breast, duck breast, and Strasbourg sausage). It was my first time having Choucroute and a real Alsatian meal (which is mostly German-inspired), so I can't really compare, but I thought it was wonderful. The meat cuts were fresh and juicy, and grilled perfectly; I felt like I was eating at 4-star restaurant. Eating this with sauerkraut and dijon mustard was a little foreign to me, since I don't eat German or French food, but nice to slather with the meats. They don't really speak English and the English menu wasn't translated so well, but was good enough for me to understand most of it.

This was frise, endive and radicchio in a vinaigrette that was spot on. Best french fries ever as a side on the pork fillet. Incredible home fries as the side on the steak. I wish I would've taken photos to post, but the dishes were getting destroyed as soon as they came out. We had the rhubarb pie as a dessert and Panna cotta.
