Once you've got it, duck into the small, velvet-lined door into a true speakeasy, with a prohibition-era throwback feel. No pictures are allowed, so my description will have to suffice, but imagine high ceilings, chandeliers, and velvet-lined barstools. A friendly cocktail waitress will bring you a menu, which gives a cheeky nod to other taboo indulgences by way of including the Marquis de Sade. I had an Old Fashioned (what else would one order in a speakeasy?) made with Bulleit Bourbon. If that's not your favorite, there are a number of other bourbon whiskies on the menu to try. We got an oat milk cappuccino (1 shot of espresso and steamed milk), an oat milk flat white (2 shots espresso and steamed milk), a hot chocolate, and a shot of espresso. The espresso-based drinks were just what I was after. They were rich, bold, and creamy. The hot chocolate was more like warm than hot, but packed on the flavor.
