I pre paid for the Opada class. When I was finally ready to go take the class. I was told that I had to pay for it again!!!! Im like excuse me???? So I'm like WOW what great customer service. They never help they wanted ti charge me a second time. So the owner Christy just called me and had the nerve to ask me why I made a dispute on my credit card I'm like you are trying to charge me for a class I never took that's why. I also told her I take care of 2 disabled gentleman and my life is kinda chaotic. Her response was im gonna fight this dispute and hung up on me instead of trying to help me resolve the situation. My jaw dropped the lady is clearly on drugs an has 0 costumer service skill. I need to go back to Palm beach Florida I miss my upscale beach customers service. Any how yea don't waste your time or money or energy on this place they will clearly try to Rob you and give you Attitude on top. This place is Awesome! I took my CHL class here. initially I thought there price was high at $139 but after taking the class I was amazed. You will not get more informative training than this. The instructors consisted of retired police officers and NRA instructors that have had real life occurences where they've had to protect there lives. They are very personalized as well with small classes. I will definitely take there defensive track training! Ronnie the gunsmith is also world class, Ive had him install a few aftermarket things for me right on the spot, quick and easy. I actually have a range membership at a different gun range but will frequent here just for the customer service and knowledge these guys possess. They get 1 star because of ten dollars. Wanted 300$ for a trade (gen 4 glock 26)so I could purchase a different pistol from LEPD along with ammo and a holster. But they came at me with 290$ because they have 10% off sale on used firearms. I said you guys can't give me an extra 10$ and she said no because of the sale. He spent plenty of time with me making sure I was comfortable with my purchase and made sure I understood how the weapon worked. I am going to be completely honest...I am a novice shooter. I do not own a gun, but my boyfriend owns several and so do our family members. I've shot in a few ranges before, but I had a great experience here. My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday morning right as they opened. There was a line waiting to get in, so the place was pretty busy. They have a total of 12 lanes to shoot and they allow 2 people per lane. We got a half hour time slot and rented 2 hearing protectors and it was $13. We brought our own guns, ammo, and targets. Each lane has an automated target, so you can control the distance you want to shoot. They also had a light at each lane. There were 2 rooms with 6 lanes each. They had coat racks and tables behind each lane to hold your stuff. The staff was friendly, the lanes were clean, and we had a great time. Can't wait to come shooting here again. And next time, I'm buying the zombie target. ;-) read more

I go to this range regularly because it is close and I would love to give a fantastic review - but I cant. 1. The working associates treat everyone like they are doing them a favor by letting customers buy the service they are selling (Kind of what you get when you get a bunch of cops or ex cops together) It does not even occur to them that THEY are the service provider. 2. I get safety, but they give you so many rules its no longer fun for the experienced shooter. 2b. Tons of rules, but they will rent a poorly functioning handgun to a group of young inexperienced kids and just let them go at it. 3. Firearm prices are NOT competitive. I go here very often for the Range which is the most affordable for 2 shooters in Columbus (besides a outdoor range). But up front I had a experience with the older lady twice where she was very rude and inconsiderate. I have bought 2 fire arms here the first was a 22lr which went flawlessly. The 2nd purchase was a handgun and the lady was nice and listened. I brought it back to be looked at and she was so mean about it and didn't want to help I had to reach out to the owner. Just a terrible experience. I went to the range they have to do some shooting. I don't own a pistol so I needed to rent one and the guy helping me was very nice but unfortunately the other guy behind the counter said they don't allow people to shoot alone and the man helping me was apparently not aware of this new rule. The other man said I have to have two people because people commit suicide when they shoot alone. I can understand they don't want people to do that but the man then said I fit the description of someone who would kill himself. And that is why I won't ever go back. read more

I have visited this range three times now and have been nothing but satisfied. Prices are about right and you can add one additional shooter to a booth at no additional charge! They also provide a few targets, safety glasses, and ear protection. The staff is very friendly and informed - they are willing to answer any questions. My only recommendation is BRING YOUR OWN AMMO. I had to pay $24 for 50 rounds of 380acp. Other than the price for ammo, everything is excellent if you want a nice indoor (primarily handgun) range with good service. read more

Read the 2 reviews before I went to LEPD. Have to say I disagree with the first one and agree with the second one! I am not a LEO, but was treated very well! I went to try out the range and was greeted by "Steve" and he was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the range, store and guns in general! He set me up on the range and when I was done he answered questions about different guns and walked me over to the sales side and showed a couple of guns to me. I would like to but a membership, but will wait until the figure out the rifle situation! Steve said that they were working to get cheaper rifle ammunition and also working on the rifle policy! I like this place. I went there because it's convenient and just said that I was a rookie who was looking to purchase a firearm. It was somewhat close to the closing time that day and they didn't try to rush me out of the door or push a particular firearm on me. They asked qualifying questions to see what I knew and get a sense of how serious I was. I thought that was fair. I ended up signing up for a basic course that was the next day and the instructor (Al) was great. I can definitely see myself getting a range membership to shoot there more often and taking more of LEPD's courses. I've had very nice experiences there. read more

sure the prices for purchasing a fire arm will be 5% or so higher, however there are many value added features that you will not find elsewhere. When buying a gun, I want to speak w a professional and somebody that knows a hell of a lot more than I do. Safety , mechanics , safety :) and personal experience. You get that service here, you don't elsewhere, period. I have taken advantage of training classes in a group as well as personal 1 on 1 sessions. safety , safety safety... Nice place to shoot. Thought the staff was nice and accommodating. I arrived about 45 minutes before they closed and had no problem letting me shoot 100 rounds. They let you double tap if you ask. I didnt look at gun prices but other accessories seemed priced competitively. I picked up a mag for my ruger which was about $5 less than anyone else. I'll go back again for sure. read more

Nice facility. Very close to me. I should be able to go to a range and not get treated rudely EVERY time I go there. There is a nice facility at the new Vance's also and they are really nice. I never have to deal with people like the two bouncers at LEPD. Go to Vance's. It is worth the drive and they won't overcharge you for firearms like LEPD. Hint, a Glock is $499 guys. A little range time helps with "lead therapy" and L.E.P.D. has that handled. They are very good at keeping safety forefront, while being friendly and helpful. Their guidelines are clear and for the preservation of the range and also to keep everyone safe. Worth the fees. Had a bad experience here 3 months ago and decided to give it another shot. Had a great experience this time and a great time on the range. Also talked with the owner Eric for a while and discussed my previous experience and he was more than happy to assist me with any issues I may have had. I would recommend this place now. Great service, clean store and range. Took a lesson from Shaun (very patient, good instructor) then he spent an hour with me to choose my first handgun. I was able to hold and review 10 different pistols (they also have rentals) until I found the one with the right feel and features. I have been here multiple times since opening. PROS: The range itself is very clean with 2 blocks of 6 shooting lanes. They allow 2 people per lane pretty standard. The distance is automated meaning you can select different distances rather than running the target out manually and guessing. Lots of pistol ammo BUT range and "economy" priced $23 for 50 target rounds of .40 and $22 for 9mm. CONS: The staff seems to not understand they are running a shooting range designed for practice shooting and sport. I attempted to shoot my LE 6920 (both .223 and 5.56) non steel and I was unwelcome due to "damage caused to the range". While this is in every way their right to allow or disallow ARs, their range is rated up to .308 and this was a major turn off. They also attempted to sell me 20 rounds of frag ammo for $1.05 a round for my AR (the only .223 ammo allowed in the range) unlike any other range experience. This sterile lack of hospitality for customers and potential members is what has caused me to seek out other options. If you plan on only shooting pistols and do not desire traditional shoot range accommodations this range is fine. If you are serious about shooting this may rub you the wrong way. read more

Facility seems nice. I did not care for the employees. When I arrived I went to the range desk. One of the employees asked me what ammo I was using and then opened my bag to pull out my ammo! If the employee asked, I would have gladly pulled out my ammunition (or given permission for him to go through my bag). I have shot at many ranges, and have my CCW. This was the worst customer service that I ever experienced. There are other ranges with great service in Central Ohio. Skip this place. read more

Wanted to shoot the 9 mm they had on sale . Was told to go get my wife. Before I could shoot. No reason given. Then was ask about how to lock the chamber. I didn't know how. Was told I could not shoot because I would wave the gun around and shoot myself or someone else. I could have been treated with a little respect. I did just come from the firing range at Vance's . Most of the staff is nice. that being said, everything is about $100-$200 overpriced firearms wise, and they are definitely taking advantage of the ammo shortage. Also, if you admire basic safe firearm handling, do no got here. Most of them are careless and will sweep and muzzle everyone in sight. I thought hey, it was just once. Nope. Multiple times and multiple visits, and the muzzle discipline is near nonexistent here. Go elsewhere, get the same gun for a lower price, and have less guns pointed at your person. read more

Service vary from completely professional to just downright ignorant and rude. I have been to this place a few times at first and was treated nicely. The staff is professional and willing to take time to explain or teach. However, the next few times with different people they were just plain rude. There were a few people talking to the salesperson so a friend and I waited patiently for about 10 min. The salesperson saw me and indicated it will be a moment. However, he greeted another person that had just walked in and we ended up waiting around for another 10 min. This was extremely embarrassing as beforehand I recommended the range pretty highly to my friend. Another notable time is when I was heading to the shooting range and a couple was talking to a salesperson. The couple consisted of a man and a woman, who both did not seem to be familiar with firearms. The woman asked to look at a scoped rifle and the salesperson handed it to her WITHOUT clearing it. He then allows this woman to look through the scope aiming the gun directly at/through me and several others. There were a lot of shuffling feet and murmurs as people immediately and awkwardly jog out of the line of fire. The woman then proceeds to scan the ENTIRE store, several patrons who were checking out accessories had to constantly look over their shoulders. The problem with this store is that some staffs are experienced and responsible when it comes to gun safety while others are just oblivious to the fact that gun are in fact dangerous and you should CLEAR a gun every time. read more

This place has yet to disappoint. It's nice to have a good, clean, well-ventilated range with friendly staff in Columbus. I will no longer go to Powder Room or New Albany to shoot. I'm also done with Black Wing and the money grab that place has become. LEPD is my range. As for the shop, it will hopefully grow in selection and become more reasonably priced with time. I feel like it's a great beginner's shop for those looking for their first firearm. read more

These are the rudest people I've ever dealt with! A month or so ago I had a firearm shipped there. They charged $50 for "use" of their ffl and because their software was screwed up it took over an hour. No apology, no nothing. This morning I stopped in to drop off a 1911 to have the front sight changed. The gun was empty, out of battery and with a large yellow CMP empty chamber flag sticking out of the chamber/action. I've never seen such an irrational and rude reaction. Three employees approached me with looks of disgust on their faces reaching for my firearm to put it in a case. They also "explained" that the gunsmith wouldn't be in for an hour. I asked for my gun back and still trying to put it in a gun case they walked me to the door, clucking all the way. Is it too obvious to point out as I did to them that my handgun, unloaded and flagged with a CMP empty chamber flag is much safe than an unseen but perhaps loaded gun in a pistol case. If you're looking for rude, expensive and irrational, this is your shop. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. read more

Great range/store and smith. Clean, friendly. Returning shooters dont need to fill out all the paperwork or watch a video to shoot. Most of the staff are current/retired law enforcement or military. They take range safety very seriously. I have seen them on more than one occasion counsel a shooter who was not acting as safe as he could be. ( walking out of the stall with gun in hand, or rapid fire.. They do it nicely and explain why thats a rule there). Onsite gun smith is great, seems very experienced and sometimes might even take care of you while you wait. ( site installs etc). I have had him fix a 'failure to extract' problem and install sights on two different guns, the sights were 'same day, and 'browse the store and I will let you know when it's done wait times. The failure to extract was two days... ( before he worked on the 'failure to extract' problem, he even went in to the range with me to watch me shoot to be sure it was not me that was the problem ( bad/loose grip etc..) read more

One of the worst customer experiences I've had. I just left the facility. It's Saturday and they were pretty busy. I had driven all the way from Canal Winchester. I was told to take a number and to have a seat. They were not cordial at all. About 15 mins after waiting, 2 groups were allowed to enter the range. I was left waiting along with a few others. The employees behind the counter were playing around and not paying any attention to the customers. Some people had no idea that they had to get a number. One guy finally grabs a number and was told there was an hour wait. I finally gathered my items and left. It's a poorly ran family business. They clearly don't know or don't care about providing decent customer service to people. Skip this place. read more
