Just took the phone call the WHOLE TIME making the shake. Cashier did offer me any toppings, I said "no thank you" At the end of it, cashier didn't know how to use the computer, almost charged me for $40, 4 of my shakes??? like really? You press the button once and press pay/charge w/e. And the shake tasted like thick chocolate water. So disappointed because the phone convo was more important than focusing on your job and servicing a customer. Hence customer service. From someone who works in the service industry as a waitress/bartender. It's a business...bottom line at the end of the day. Businesses all across the world rely on reviews and great feedback to keep their business successful, so people want to come back to your business. I will not be coming back. I should have come back and asked for a refund. I never write a bad review but hopefully management addresses this issue.

They do such a great job of utilizing the building's unique layout, with the front half of the store dedicated to literature (adult and YA on the right, children's on the left) and the back half functioning as a space for people of all ages to sit, read, and hang out. In the back on the right side of the store, there are plenty of comfy chairs to settle into and read, and over on the left side is an adorable children's storytime space! In terms of titles, they have a wide and impressive variety- especially considering how new they are! I bought Amy Tan's "The Backyard Bird Chronicles," and was definitely intrigued by other titles from authors I hadn't seen before. They have new indie, works in translation, cloth bound classics, and book tok favorites. Everything is so well organized and clean as well! Finally, the owner, Jennifer, and her family, are so incredibly kind and helpful!! They clearly care so much about what they do, and about their role in the community- as evidenced by their showcasing local art from the nearby firefly gallery, and potentially partnering with a local coffee shop in their bar towards the back of the store! Overall I think I speak for everyone when I say that I am so excited to see Northport Books grow, as a book store and thriving community center!!
