His work is top notch! I hate going into a mechanic prior to him and having to steel myself regarding, "what am I going to be charged today?!" Because the price they gave me was "just an estimate." Not here, he's familiar with how to use technology! That means he can put your service needs into the computer and spit out an actual cost of your service. In the event something else actually is wrong, he calls you and communicates his findings. WITH NO BS, "you got to fix this or else and it's gonna be a million gazillion dollars!" Bottom line, I trust him. If I didn't I'd be driving to Vacaville VW.

Another painless visit to see Mark…read more Unfortunately, I already knew my engine was leaking...something. But I knew I was going to see Mark soon to get my oil changed and if anyone could fix it, Mark could. Well, it wasn't the oil change that was the problem or even the leak. It was me. Due to unfortunate circumstances my low mileage driving record had plummeted to absolutely minuscule numbers. Basically there was a leak at a point in the engine, where three fluid systems converged. There was literally not enough material to identify the source of the leak. Solution. Drive until I built up enough material for Mark to identify. Well, that was the part that's not painless because even in a good year, I might not drive enough to build up enough material. Oh heck.

Since I have been going to Vallejo Car Care Clinic for maybe four years, primarily for a 2001 BMW CI, and I have always been pleased with their customer service, this car shop (Gil, in particular) needs a long-deserved shout-out. Gil is super attentive and very honest. Less than a week ago, I took my son's car to Gil. It is a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid that needed a catalytic converter. Rather than take the job, which costs a decent amount of money, Gil asked me, considering the age and mileage of the car, if we really wanted to proceed with the repair. He said the Honda has two catalytic converters and, while the second unit did not register as defective, there is a good chance it will soon. So, we decided against fixing it. In my book, that is a remarkable trait for an auto shop owner to possess. He will not say what the customer wants to hear, like how soon the car will be ready, just to get their business. When he says the car will be ready at a certain time, it usually is. In fact, I do not remember him ever missing a completion date/time.
