It was our last day of a family vacation in Canada, and I insisted on some poutine. We had not had any yet, and so my wife looked up the best places, and this one was on our way into town. The poutine was delicious. We had a regular, and a plant based one (for our vegetarian kiddo) and they were basically the same - plant based food has come a long way! Quirky, unapologetic, not-so-serious ambiance makes this a great spot to hang and watch the game. Food specials were solid and beer selection was a mix of local beers and different styles. Highly recommend on vibe alone but we thoroughly enjoyed the poutine and burgers. read more

I love the food and the drinks here, however the service lately needs a makeover. I don't know if it's because this place is so busy cause everyone loves it and the staff can't keep up but if you don't get help quick it's going to hurt the business. It's not just this location, it's all of them. HIRE HELP! In the kitchen and out front. No one should be waiting over an hour for their food. Or only being able to order two drinks cause the server doesn't come around. Do better. read more

Amazing food. Got the fernie cherry , fried mac and cheese, mushroom poutine and a burger. Atmosphere is cosy.

I have both ordered take out and gone for a sit down meal here - both were fabulous. This restaurant brings much needed new life to Bowness Dr (and their food is delicious to boot!) Their poutines are amazing as are their wings, and the staff is super friendly. Definitely a great neighbourhood pub vibe. Restaurant is clean, food is great, service is excellent. Excellent food and fantastic service. Amazing patio! So many good choices. Try the Buffalo Cauliflower, the bacon is BLT is piled with bacon. The poutine is huge. Can't go wrong. read more

I walked in to a giant mint pig. The decor here is super trendy but casual. There was a lot wood a d brushed steel with a long bar top. We sat out on the patio where every table has an umbrella and the booths are comfy. I got a beer on tap and it came super quick. The service here was pretty amazing. We both ordered burgers and they were phenomenal. My friend had been here before and got the full dip with his fries which was so yummy. He had the mushroom burger and I had the spicy jalapeno. Thick pattys and sift buns made them delectable. I had coleslaw on the side of mine and it was spiced in a very unique way which I really enjoyed. I had such a great time here. Inept service. Made us wait over 30 minutes for a table. Would not let us sit at bar while waiting for a table said we could stand at the entrance and order drinks but I find that ridiculous. When we finally had been seated We were told our IDs did not look genuine and we're required to show another form of government ID. Who brings multiples forms of important government documents to a bar. Not only did they show their incompetence they embarrassed us. Ridiculous if you can't train servers to be competent enough to tell the difference between a genuine and fake ID Invest in a scanner. Absolute morons read more

Love Leopold's love the atmosphere but the food is not the greatest. Seems they really skimp on there ingredients when it comes to there nachos wish I could post a picture of my nachos. Spicy Rice bowl was so spicy couldn't eat it . read more

Had 2 Caesars which were good. Ordered cheeseburger poutine and a scotch egg, GF had the buffalo chicken wrap. Hers was decent. Nothing special. The food took FOREVER (excess of 60 mins) to come and my poutine was cold. Gravy was almost gelatinous and the cheese hadn't melted at all. Ground beef was overcooked and slightly burnt in spots. I sent the poutine back (only tried a couple bites) which is something I have only done once at a restaurant before....The scotch egg was good...they offered to get me something else or refire the poutine, but I didn't feel like waiting another hour to eat. We were comped for our Caesars and the poutine was left off the bill which was good, but I definitely won't be back read more

I was seeing lots of reviews and insta pictures that invited you to Leopoldo's like a must go place in Calgary! we had a very bad experience, servers don't really noticed you walked into the door. We order Nachos, not even close to the one displayed on the pictures. Guacamole was dark, we ask for a fresh one and the server said that's all they had because it was pre made. That's very disappointing for anyone who is choosing this place over other restaurants with better Nachos and guacamole. I will never go back to this place. It was dirty, but the kind of place Is shown on pictures. Last, we had saw two guys seating in a large table with all their stuff spread around the table (a bunch of dirty clothes) I can have sympathy if they were homeless people and help them if they need. $17.50 for 9 small, bland, under seasoned wings. This is a joke, right? No? Well that's unfortunate. I had to stop somewhere else on my way home to get a second meal (for half the cost). Met a friend for lunch here on Tuesday and had a great time. Our waitress, Demia spent time explaining the menu, the restaurant's philosophy and history. We enjoyed the conversation and asked lots of questions. The food was delicious- I had the poutine and enjoyed each and every one of my French fries which are handmade in house. My friend enjoyed a quesadilla and raved about its tastiness. Leopold's was clean and quiet enough to enjoy a conversation. We had dinner last night at Leopold in bowness, nothing special and will not go back.We sat on the patio and at least half tables had dogs at them, some of them were very distracting.i like dogs but not at a table next to me causing a scene.There are a lot of places that I enjoy more than this place. read more

Nick is the greatest bartender I've ever had they are so welcoming and friendly. Maddie our server is always a delight and so much attention so our table. We love to visit our neighbourhood bar. 5 star always regardless of the waitlist it's worth every minute. read more

Love Leopold's but had an incredibly rude server today. She did not know what she was doing, if she was new she could have been trained better. She was incredibly rude, forgot everything we asked her for even if it came to just a straw. Other tables seemed very unhappy with her as well. Really cool pub/tavern. Great location however service is really slow. Not sure if it's just a lack of service staff but we waited 10 minutes to even get served once we sat down, still waiting for food and it's been 45 minutes since our order and ordering our next round of drinks took 10 minutes before we had to flag down a different server. Could be a great pub but service on weekends needs to improve drastically! read more

The first time I went here the food was amazing, atmosphere was fun and I had a great time. The second time I left before anyone even came around to take my order. Third time, the service in the patio is super slow but it was a nice day so we touched it out. Burgers came and I looked down to find a curly black hair on the pickle.
