Sutton seemed like a good place to stop for the night during our West Virginia Rd. trip. I did…read moreliterally zero planning on that and just assumed there would be restaurants in the area but much to my unpleasant surprise, there were not very many options. I was very relieved to see this place within a pretty short walking distance from our accommodations for the night. I was also relieved to see that it was still open shortly after 7 on a Thursday night bc Google scared me saying they closed at 7. It's possible that they do bc when we walked in there was no one else there. Could also be bc it is a very small town. They don't have alcohol which was a bummer. They do have enticing sports-bar-like appetizers and fried ravioli which caught my eye. We kept it simple and both ordered burgers, I was grateful for the veggie burger option. Service was great. I, as a vegetarian, don't usually order burgers so I needed some assistance. Our server basically held my hand through the whole thing and asked me step by step how I would like mine. GF and I both succumbed to the side of fries. The burgers were served on a really delightful brioche bun with fresh lettuce. The fries were incredible. Our server went above and beyond and asked if we wanted any dipping sauces, finally a server that speaks my language. Very good experience here in this very unique restaurant.

Different ambiance, and I like different! Folks were in costumes, i assume for a bog Fallout…read moreFestival. I didn't catch what was going on, but it was cool. There is axe throwing i immediately noticed upon entering. I think I was expecting something different bc it is a "Bistro". It has more of a Bar and Grill vibe. I ordered the steak bc of reviews i had read, and I was ready to love it....but it did not deliver. Both of our steaks were over cooked. Our bread, which looked delicious, was cold in the middle, perhaps frozen and reheated not long enough. Portions on then sides were small. Cheese sauce on the fries was saucy. I would have preferred actual cheese. We ultimately sent food back and ordered a burger and reuben and were pleased. Most outstanding thing was the wait service and management! They did make sure we were happy. They apologized for the leas than stellar experience. I would come back again. I felt like it was just a one off. We all have times like this. I think the menu is creative and Sutton is just such a cool vibe. I am rooting for this place!

Ok I love the burgers and craft beer options here. You cannot be in a hurry here. They have their…read moreown time line as everything is made fresh when you order. I also highly recommend the cheese burger salad with an added egg.

I will start off by saying I went in with high hopes and thoroughly expected to love my visit to…read morethis restaurant. I soooo wanted to give a better rating to a smaller, locally owned business, but my conscience will not allow it. My husband and I came in this past Friday for lunch, and the beginning of our visit was pleasant- we ordered 10 wings, and the waitress offered to let us get 5 of one flavor and 5 of another. We ordered them extra crispy, and got half Sweet Thai Chili, half Spicy Ranch dry rub- both excellent! Perfect crunch and flavor on the wings- would definitely order again. Then we ordered a couple of other items to share, and neither were anything to write home about, unfortunately- the nachos I would absolutely skip next time. They came with the cheap round tortilla chips and goopy, thick cheese sauce you get when you order nachos at the movie theater. You could tell they were trying to be creative with the toppings, which I appreciate, but there wasn't much flavor at all. The other item we ordered was the Billion Dollar Burger. I will say again that I definitely appreciate the thought that went into creating this menu- you could tell the owners are trying to be inventive and bring new flavors to a town in which those might not normally be available. However, the execution was lacking....the mushroom sauce did not have a lot of flavor, and instead of "microgreens" like the menu stated, the burger came with salad greens on top (nothing wrong with that; it was just unexpected). I am sure if we ordered another burger we would have liked it better, because the waitress assured us the beef is never frozen, and the patties looked to be a good size and have a nice crust to them. In terms of ambiance, it is more of a hole-in-the-wall find. There was only one other table with people when we arrived, and the two employees were chatting in the kitchen, which you could hear clearly because it is a smaller space. Despite it not being visibly busy, the other tables seemed still to have crumbs on them, and my husband and I had to wipe off our own table before sitting down. Again, I hope this does not come off as being rude or prissy- I wanted to like this place so badly and would be open to trying it again in the future. I love a good dive spot for burgers! However, in JAG's case, I think a little more seasoning in the food and running a tighter ship in terms of cleanliness and service could go a long way.

This hidden gem did not disappoint! On the outside it's a little quirky, in the bestest way, it probably used to be an old service station that they converted. They had outside seating/patio area for us and our dogs to sit at. Our server was Jana, she was amazing! Straight away she came out with two bowls of water for our girls. I ordered the Dolly, with extra bacon and the house made potato chips. I also ordered a side of the potato salad as well as ordering their six dips*. My wife also ordered the Dolly but with their crinkle cut fries. We both agreed that the Dolly was amazingly delicious!! The house made potato chips were cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned and went very well with any of the dips. The crinkle cut fries were crispy and well seasoned. We both enjoyed the mom's deviled egg potato salad and couldn't stop eating it! I enjoyed all of the dips, and my wife's favorites were the Dill dip, Jana's roasted garlic and onion, and the Appalachian Goddess. We were too full to eat them at the restaurant so we purchased two cookies to go-the fruity pebbles white chocolate chip and the cinnamon toast pumpkin. If you're ever in the area I highly recommend stopping here-ask for Jana, she's amazing. She was very attentive to us, and a cat lover! We would definitely stop here again if we're ever in the area!! They do have a very small parking area but we had no issues with parking.

They have a handful of pinball machines and a change machine if needed. My daughter played the pokemon pinball game. For food I ordered the Licensed to Dill Burger with a side salad. My husband ordered The Heather sandwich. The food was REALLY good. Service was quick and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I ended up buying a sticker on the way out to remember the restaurant. We were just passing through town but if we are around again, I would definitely stop!
