As well as the usual run-of-the-mill mail services, I've asked Leonard's Mail to pack and ship some really delicate items for me (one being a 100-yr old china service for 8, shipping from Colorado to New York) and it all arrived without a single chip or breakage - I couldn't be happier! I've sat at 99 reviews for a while, I wanted to make my 100th review for a business that really deserved it. I've used this mail service company for years, recently I had an experience that was truly worth yelping about. I needed a specialty box to return something to Amazon.com and no one in town seemed to have one. So, I was starting to freak out about returning this item. I called Leonard's and he said, "I have two of them." I drove down later that day and he had the boxes out waiting for me. I grabbed the one that worked best for me. I also needed some bubble wrap and purchased that. Leonard refused to charge me for the elusive box, so I left him a decent tip on the counter, because he went out of his way for me. The best part of Leonard's that I haven't mentioned is that it is next door to the Old Town post office and there is never a line at Leonard's. So you can either wait in the Post Office line or go to Leonard's and find out which is cheaper between the USPS, UPS, and FedEx. read more

Like everyone else here, I've loved Leonard's since moving back to the state in 2011. The ladies are kind and excellent at their jobs, and Leonard is of course always a delight. (Though he would never want to be called that!) If only every business operated this smoothly... The best $120 I spend all year! read more

What a great, go out of their way for the customer, business. These are great people to deal with. 1st class PLUS!

Convenient but that is all I can say. I have been giving them my business for a year now and today will be the last. The service is slow, the prices are three times that of what you would pay if you drove just a little bit further down the street and they have a lot of rules ie, no cell phone and only cash unless your bill is $15.00 or more. If you are mailing a box you can count on it being $25 or more for the "least expensive option" so don't worry about bringing cash. The gentleman there is nice but the lady who owns this place is rude...and for that I will never be back. read more

Was greeted warmly and got very well taken care of - they made the address slips, took my items, and packed them for me. I didn't have to do anything but give them the information and all my stuff. The package arrived promptly at its destination. I will be going here instead of the crowded postal office down the street. Highly recommended!! read more

I love Leonard's. The people are always friendly. They don't charge for little extras like tape to seal your box. I always wonder how they stay in business when they charge so little for everything. They are infinitely faster than waiting in line at the post office next door. I hope they do well for many more years to come! read more

Fast, affordable service and friendly people. You have to spend $15 or more if you want to pay with plastic, but much more reasonable pricing than at the post office across the street. Here they also will repackage something if you want them to...for no additional charge. Highly recommend!! read more

Awesome customer service! I went in to mail a package. The box I was shipping was much larger than the contents inside and would cost a lot more. They took the time to find a smaller box and repack my shipment, thereby saving me money. They went over and above what they needed to do. Definitely recommend them. read more

Don't go here if you want your things insured. The owner told me that he could not insure my painting for shipping unless I went and got a letter of appraisal and proved my value as an artist in order to insure my painting. He would only insure it for the value of the canvas. I was very disappointed and still needed to ship the painting to the person who purchased it. I called another shipping place. They told me that I could insure it for whatever I wanted. No appraisal or anything needed! I have been using Leonard's for 15 years out of loyalty and because I like to use local vendors. It is even out of my way to go there. The last time I went into the shop the owner saw me coming and ducked in the back. (At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt) His clerk was left to help me, obviously feeling awkward. I saw him poke his head out when I left to see if I was gone. I guess he did not want to talk to me as a customer. Not very nice. I don't really need to be insulted by the man who runs the mail shop. It must be nice to be able to choose what customers you help. It did not go unnoticed. Pretty risky in a town that has almost 20 shipping places. Customer service is important. You should try not to hurt the feelings of your customers. After almost 15 years of loyalty, I will find a new mail shop that will actually appreciate my business. read more
