Literally was not even in there 2 minutes. Guy ahead of me was kind of being a difficult customer, but the owner excused himself from him and offered me help. It was recommended to me to get duplicate keys made by a real locksmith rather than going to home depot or hardware store. Today I stopped at Leonard's Lock and Key to get duplicates cut of my house and mailbox key. The keys work great but their customer service skills are a complete zero. The guy who helped me was curt and made fun of me. I get along with everyone and was completely surprised by how rude this locksmith is. Reading the other reviews gives me a clue that there may be just one bad apple there, and I didn't get his name. F- read more

First time using a locksmith service. They arrived in 25 mins even with LA traffic. The guy was friendly and nice. He was able to unlock our door and get us back inside. Called to have a specialty rear door lock repaired and the guy from Leonard's came by, took the lock apart, but could not fix it. He said he needed to research about the type of lock and would get back to me. I never heard from him again. Won't be calling Leonard's ever again. read more

Came here because the big box store no longer carried the blanks for my ancient door lock. Their new location is great, brightly lit, clean, and has a 10 minute quick stop parking spot right out front. The key dude wasn't phased by my older style of key and made two copies in 30 seconds! I just had one of those worst case scenarios, locked out of the house with my 5 month old baby girl (who needed to eat soon) and dog, plus husband was not reachable for at least a couple of hours!?! Luckily I had my phone with me so I got on Yelp and found this locksmith. I explained my dire situation and he came straight away. Despite a difficult lock, he was able to get me and the rest of the gang in before there was a hungry meltdown! Called for a rekeying quote and scheduled an appointment for an hour after our phonecall (their quote not mine). By the end of the phonecall that somehow extended to "an hour, maybe an hour and a half" but I figured why not if the price was okay. Twenty minutes later I called back because I realized I might have been confused about a price point and the person working the phone said they remembered talking to me and then curtly said "oh yeah we just got all booked up so we can't go help you at all anyways." NOW I understand all the one star reviews! So if I hadn't called, I would've been waiting in my place for someone who'd never showed up. Time is money and waiting for them was keeping me from my work - I could've called another place and had someone else helping me in that time. Greatly disappointed. He never indicated that they were "super busy" or that they "'might not be able to do it at all" - even after cancelling, he didn't even ask if the following morning might work! Amazing. read more

Less than 2minutes, under 5 bucks... & I left with the two copies I needed. He was so nice, that he made one key silver & the other gold so I could tell the difference without buying covers for them. The owner has very poor customer service skills. He is very rude. I was coming here for many years and having him rekey some rentals that I have. I had one of my employees go down to make a copy of a key and he refused to do it. After, I even brought the person into the store and introduced the two. I called in a pinch at almost 5pm and John and I believe Jim were at our property in about 10 minutes. They quickly replaced the dead bolt that had randomly fallen out when the door was being unlocked. Crazy right?! They also recommended replacing the bottom lock since it too was severely warn. This is a good business. Get your keys made here. I found this place about a year ago. I'd been looking for a place to get a very specific key made and had gone to no less than 7 different places. Leonard's was the ONLY place to get it done right and to guarantee their work. Additionally I needed another specific key made that I'd had made another place only to find they key was incorrect. When I went to Leonard's they made the key. I was sure that it was wrong again but they were sure it was correct. They gave me the key and my money back and said to bring the money back if it didn't work. I just dropped my money off to them because it sure worked fine. This is a good business. Not sure if I'd go back here again. Couple of days ago i stopped by to purchase a store front door lock cylinder ( not sure if I'm saying it right ) and the face plate that goes on the lock. He charged me good money for those and the plate didn't come with 3 screws. I noticed that after he had already charged my CC. So I asked him do you have the screws for this plate? He says yes. Went to the back and brought me 3 small screws and now wants $1 for those !! Are you serious now ?? He probably has a ton of those lose screws in the back and I just purchased a lock cylinder and faceplate, and the plate shoud have come with screws. So I don't have cash with me. I ask him can you take CC for the $1. And he says yes. Sure. He swipes my card and when I sign the receipt I noticed he had changed me $1.50 instead of $1 !! Without confirming with me. So based on my experience be careful going here !! read more
