First, the food is nothing spectacular, but the atmosphere is what people really come here for. The vintage lighted sign out front is very cool. When you go in, the walls are upholstered in black leather, and you seat yourself in red leather booths or at the bar. There are no tables. For something different in a world of chain restaurants, this place is very fun. read more

I've eaten pizza all over the country and this is the first time I've every thrown pizza away? Maybe it was the sausage, it wasn't italian and had an "off" taste. The dough was an uninspiring soggy mess. The garlic bread was literally white bread toasted on one side but at least it was edible. I know others rave, but with so many good choices for pizza in the area, I'll never go back! read more

Not only is this the best pizza in town it's the best pizza I've ever had. All their food is super super good. The salad is huge! If you get a salad to go don't get the full size. It's a lot smaller in the to go box then it is in the restaurant. Kitchen is open till 1 AM! read more

Great Bar food...Great atmosphere, good music, good service, and I love their Stromboli Pizza.... cannot get anything like it anywhere else. I highly recommend their pizza. read more

$5.50 for a tiny margarita. The food is also over priced. Looks awesome on the inside, but is definitely not worth it. Ben was our server and even though it's thanksgiving and he probably hates his life for having to work today, he was extremely impatient, acted like he didn't have time for our questions, and was in a hurry for us to leave even though he wasn't busy. P.s we sat with empty drinks for 20 minutes. read more

So disappointed at Leonardo's Tenderloin is So disturbing Pizza Spot on And we asked for ranch but cottage cheese

This place is really neat inside. The pizza used to be better, but still ok. The salads, tenderloins, cheeseburgers etc...all pretty good. I like this place because they put up with young children so well! So, if you have a messy couple of kids that leave more food on the floor than in their tummies, then get em on down to Leonardo's and let them go nuts! I also like the atmosphere. The red and black leather is just so cool. read more

Great food! There pizza is to die for and the tenderloins are huge and yummy. It is very family oriented.

The only thing saving this place is the decor. It is definitely different interior than a lot of other places in CR. Memorable for sure. Food was not impressive whatsoever. Went for lunch and had a steak sandwich, which was dry and bland. My S.O had a burger which was mediocre at best. read more

Leo's is a fun place with a great atmosphere to go to after a hockey game. They had the place all decked out for Halloween (which I absolutely loved). The food is fine, the wait staff very friendly. I'd go back. read more

Every time we visit my in-laws in Cedar Rapids, we make a trip here. Eclectic environment, tasty pizza and pleasant waitstaff. What's not to love? read more

Yes, this place has an interesting decor. The food is "eh" but the vinyl will have you thinking you're Cosa Nostra.

Truly a wonderful environment! Don't go here expecting a regular pizza place. Great pizza and always good service. Always stop by when I am in Cedar Rapids. read more

Very retro atmosphere, and great food. Some of the best pizza in town. Nice quiet place for a first date, where you can sit and talk, and enjoy the food. Guinness is served. read more

Leonardo's is a traditional old fashioned style of restaurant offering great food at around average prices. Everything on the menu is worth a try and you can find just about anything! With that said I have experienced long waits and some less than stellar service throughout the years. read more

Great place for food & beverages. Good honest food. Attentive staff. Solid. Pizza & more. Even great salads. Many long time customers. I have been going back for over 40 years. Try it... You will be intrigued by the nostalgic decor. Really get into various holiday decorations. Update: Jill is the best server in the city! Update: Great food & great service again & again! Make sure to enjoy holiday decorations. Very unique! Ask for Jill! She is the best. Have been a customer for well over 40 years! read more

It was the end of a hellacious day and at 12o'clock on a Friday night we did not want to go home and cook. Called in a pizza at Leonardo's. It was hot and ready when we arrived. We did take it home because we were exhausted. It fit the bill perfectly. I do have to say I have been a customer of this Leonardo's for over 40 years (beginnning as student at Wash High School....I think there are other H.S. in town.....but I don't know...lol) Good old fashioned, thin crust. Good sauce and plenty of meat, cheese and veggies. read more

We were met with a great warm welcome, our waitress was awesome, and the food came out in epic proportions! Not much else to say!

Last weekend my son from Milwaukee picked up a pizza we had ordered on the phone - We were very disappointed to say the least - we use to eat at Leonardo's once a week and loved the pizza because it was very juicy, cheesy and meaty and cut in little squares - not now - it was so dry and the hamburger so fine we could not even taste it - this summer we were with family who had the same problem - what happened since you remodeled? - our last Casey's pizza was MUCH better - we don't plan to return to Leonardo's any time soon. read more

What a nightmare. Not busy and couldn't get anything right. Asked for drink refill, she took the glass and never brought another. Asked 3 times for ketchup and mustard. Tried taking it away before finished with meal. Noticed other diners having issues as well. read more

Have been going to Leonardo's literally for 50 years as of lately the service and food have suffered. I don't think I will return. Which is a shame because the place meant something to me. read more

Fantastic pizza!! The sampler platter is great too. Service always good and the staff is friendly. It's always a "go to" place on the west side of Cedar Rapids. read more

This is a great place to grab a meal and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere to chat. Have always had a great experience and good food, here. The pizza is definitely worth the stop! read more

Decent food, decent prices, great atmosphere. Love the waffle fries and everything else is good-great. Not a huge fan of the pizza but, the sandwiches are pretty delicious. read more

Over priced and greasy crust, bottom of box was saturated with grease. Save your money and go elswhere.

Don't waste your time. When we arrived we were seated at a dirty table. The waitress whiped it down with a soaking wet towel, so our table was soaking wet. She gave us one menu and walked away. We waited for half an hour to be waited on. It wasn't even busy. We just decided to leave. I give it one star for having a nice atmosphere. read more

had a great experience the wait staff were all friendly and respectful, the food was pretty good a few things could've been better but it was overall worth the money and the atmosphere was eclectic and vintage, tried the Ribeye and it was amazing. will be there again to try the pizza read more

Really good and quick service. Food was ok, Italian Beef was dry as shoe leather. Also they shouldn't cut bun all the way through, causes meat to fall out. Fries don't have much flavor. read more

I heard about this place on the radio (hundreds of times). When we were here for a convention and couldn't decide on a place to go (Olive Garden had a 45 minute wait), I remembered this place and we tried it out. I was very pleased! It looks great inside, with a lot of atmosphere. Prices weren't too bad considering the feel of the place was nice, and it impressed our out of town guest. I had pizza, like always, and it was good (8/10 on the pizza). read more

Was in for dinner. Had a snotty server. Made it seem like a bother to answer our questions. Seemed short but wasnt busy. Didn't interact with our table at all yet sat & talked to others. Seemed to have some strange system for bar drinks where I saw them order the drinks then pay for them. Our food & bar items were on 2 different sides of the hand written checks. Food was so-so. Nothing really impressive. Probably won't be returning read more

Very disappointed with beef pizza tonight. Whatever happened to the regular pizza crust, big chunks of ground beef, generous amount pizza sauce, seasoning and sprinkled Parmesan cheese. The pajama pant pizza man made pizzas delicious. We would watch him from the carry out window. read more

First time but not the last! Pizza was delicious, our server was super nice, and we loved the ambience!

Love Leonardos! Was introduced to this family-owned pizza place by my husband who grew up in Cedar Rapids. You can't get this pizza anywhere else. Great sauce, great toppings - especially the sausage. It's delicious. The decor is retro and matches the vibe of the entire restaurant. The garlic cheese toast is delicious too! read more

I gave three stars; maybe it should be four stars. We got into Cedar Rapids from AZ past 9 pm at night last Friday. We were tired and just wanted pizza and a beer. We found that most places closed at 9 pm and finally got a recommendation to go have pizza from the desk person at the hotel. We got there around 9:30 pm and they were still going strong. We walked in and it reminded me of those tavern/food joints that I used to frequent in my college years in upstate New York, over 40 years ago. My GF ordered a kahlua and milk (they had no cream) and I ordered a Rebel IPA......that was the only IPA they had and I did not care for it. Then I discovered some pale ales on tap, but I forgot what they were. They serve them in small, 10 oz. glasses, but at only $2.50 or so in price. That was nice. I was gonna order salad with our pizza but my GF said just order the pizza since she was not too hungry. They have two sizes -- 13 inches and 16 inches. We ordered the combo, 13 inch, deep dish. It as perfect! Not too thick, not too thin, with a nice crispy crust and lots of toppings and cheese. We both ate two slices each and took the remaining 4 slices back to the hotel and gave them to the desk person since it was her recommendation for us to go here. We were satisfied and I thought the food was good and the "on tap" ales were good too. I especially liked the atmosphere, but I must admit, it was dark, dank, and old --- but a lot of nostalgic memories for me! read more

Tried this place after hearing that it was THE place for pizza. I was less than impressed. The pizza came out looking like a frozen pizza and tasted about the same. Not impressed. read more

HORRIBLE! Ordered 2 pizzas for take out and arrived to get only 1 pizza. They never apologized just said they were busy. Yes it is July 4th but to say if you want to wait 20 minutes we will babe your other pizza ready, after an hour wait already is BS. I called to talk about this and was hung up on. The pizza we got was chicken, which we never ordered. Horrible flavor. Not much sauce. NEVER order from here. It's not difficult to make good pizza. And hire competent people. Good grief... read more

Hands down the best service experience I have had in Cedar Rapids , Iowa since I moved to the area 2.5 years ago. I am 41 years old, but can really get into this throw back smoke free decor of yesterday's times transported to moderen day competition for business. The price was right , no pun intended...and the food was great...I easyly fed six people with super great tasting food, with better health values and with less money than I could have at fast food restaurants. Thumbs up! I will go back.. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. We were here for the first time tonight. First off, it was a Wednesday night around 6. There were a few patrons, but they were not busy by any means. We ordered a pizza and two enchilada meals for a table of four. We waited an hour. Servers kept coming to our table asking us if we ordered a beer, we kept replying no, we did not. Our server had almost no teeth...in fact the entirety of the staff looked like the cream of the crop from "people of Wal-Mart" posts. No clean uniforms, just street clothes, not even name tags. So we waited...and waited...and finally they bring out the pizza. 15 minutes before they brought out the other two meals. So we waited some more. They brought out one enchilada meal and five minutes later, the other. I ordered olives and jalapeños with it and asked our server for them, she said they were being prepared in the kitchen (how much preparation do those items take?!)...so we waited. They never came out. Our server never came back. We had to flag her down to get our check and once she took our card we waited another 10 minutes to get it back. The pizza is fine, nothing spectacular. The enchiladas were disgusting and mostly inedible. They were poorly seasoned and nothing more than Americanized burritos drenched in nacho cheese sauce and at least a half cup of sour cream. Leonardos needs to revamp their staff...they need a better cook with better recipes (or just specialize in Italian and ditch the Mexican all together)...and they need a much more attentive wait staff. We will not be going back. read more

i went the this restauraunt in an attempt to find a good pizza in cedar rapids. i must say that this is some of the worst garbage i have ever put into my mouth. there was hardly any sauce and the sausage was an overload of unseasoned dirt that completly took over the sensation of even eating pizza and made me feel like was was eating microwaved ground pork on a slice of buttered toasted wonderbread. i ordered this pizza for carryout and upon entrance i have to admit i admired the corky if not a bit cheesy atmosphere. long story short...if you think this garbage is even acceptable to be called pizza then you need not eat at all. read more
