UPDATE: been a few years but I'm on to a new project!…read more We hired Tim for a second time for an interior painting project, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, he and his team were professional, punctual, and incredibly detail oriented. They took the time to properly prepare surfaces, used high quality materials, and kept our home very clean throughout the whole job. They were responsive to all my questions and offered helpful suggestions on colors and finishes. The end result was flawless. My home looks fresh, modern, and beautifully transformed. I would highly recommend Curtner Painting to anyone looking for reliable, skilled painters who genuinely care about their craft. I'll definitely be calling them again for future projects!

My review had a follow up. Had several emails from Tim from Curtner Painting. He asked about my…read morereasons for giving them a one star rating. I answered in detail by performing a financial analysis of his quote. He quoted $875 for a small project that requires modest supplies and 3 hours of labor. I had it done for $300 twice in the past . Even if the supplies cost $125, which they don't, it works out at $250 per hour of labor. I told Tim his rates were unreasonable. And I was looking to hire a painter, not a Fortune 500 CEO at $250 an hour! I contacted two other contractors and they acted very professional and quoted less than half of what Curtner Painting quoted. Do you know what Tim told me in the follow up email after I gave him full answer and analyzed his quote? I quote: " I priced it on the high end, so you would pick another contractor. While walking around the house, I had a bad feeling about you". I never had a contractor before who developed any feelings about me before, let alone bad ones. Being caught with the super inflated quote, Tim admitted to inflate the price. And he did it as a sore loser. People don't double market rates in their quote and act as sore losers after losing to a reasonable contractors by saying "they priced it in the high end, so the customer picks up another contractor". If the company does not want business they say they are booked for the next few months and don't waste time on providing a quote. Two other contractors did not have "bad feelings" about me, and provided reasonable quotes. I am happy to go with either one of them. Stay away from Curtner Painting. Dishonest and unprofessional.

They return calls immediately, text you back, email information, and their technology in sending bids and paint samples is bar none. I did everything on my iPhone or iPad and it was completely paperless with copies of the contract and my paint choices being emailed to me for confirmation. NOBODY else has done this in any level for any type of work we've used in any of our houses. Now, how was the work, you ask? Top notch. They used beautiful paint and it came out gorgeous. The workers that we had for the drywall repair and painting were all friendly and communicated well. They came to work when they said they would and finished by the promised time. How often does that happen in the construction world? Almost never, but it did with Sanchez Painting. The bottom line? We won't be using anyone else and we will be recommending them to EVERYONE who even mentions thinking about getting work done.

The following day, Jay came out for an estimate, which we had within 24 hours of his visit. The following week, the project began. Jay made sure to keep the lines of communication open and wanted to be sure we were on the same page, especially since much of the project was without us being home. The wind picked up, causing a delay in the actual painting, but he made sure we were aware of the modified timeline. After the first day of prep, more of our fascia board in the backyard had some rot, so we agreed to amend the quote to include fixing the issue. Jay made some great suggestions on colors, which we took and are glad that we did. There was some phone tag near the end of the job, but we were able to get most touch ups and issues fixed with little incident. Upon further reflection of the scope of the project, we have notice that the new fascia board doesn't appear to have the same quality of preparation that the rest of the house did since it was added after initial prep. Overall, we love the look of the house. They did a great job transforming the facade of our home. **Update 11/29/18- Jay and his guys came out and fixed the fascia board and repainted. We are very happy with the finished result and appreciate his drive to make sure that we were happy with the finished product.

It's frustrating that many people in the trades have poor customer service skills, which was not Lucas' trait at first. The professionalism is not there for many people that work for themselves. I had found them in the Gay Yellow Pages that was free at the car wash and I wanted to support LGBTQ+ ally businesses. This second time we had them paint various portions of the front and back or our home that had faded under the desert sun. This time the service was a little off, but was remedied without complaint. There were areas where the brush strokes were very apparent and Miller Painting immediately corrected those areas. They did try to upsell us a few times, but we were firm in what we wanted painted. When the job was complete they apologized for taking longer than expected, but it wasn't a big deal. Would use them again.

The pricing was reasonable and fair. He has kept the same team over the years and they work together well and are very respectful of the property. I wasn't sure what would become of the plants and cacti around the house but his team knows how to do work around them. I only had to trim the bougainvillea growing up the wall a little bit. When getting the estimate, Dave will explain what he is going to do for the prep work, like wash the exterior, caulk where it is needed, repair chips in the stucco, etc. He will ensure all your questions get answered along the way and that you are satisfied. He's been doing this a long time here in the Coachella valley and expertly knows house painting. In fact, he knows his paint colors so well, he can look at a white wall and know it's Dunn-Edwards name, like "oh, that's Swiss Coffee". When it comes to scheduling the job, Dave is "old school", carrying around his pencil and paper calendar. As we discussed timing during the visit for the estimate, I wasn't in a hurry but mentioned we had guest coming in a few weeks so that week would be out so any time after that would be fine. A few days after getting the bid, to my surprise, Dave called and said he would like to get started. Apparently he had some delays/set-backs from another job but because he cares about his team and wants to keep them working to get paid, he scheduled my house in early and completed the job before the guests arrived. I am quite satisfied with Miller Painting and would recommend him to my friends for their house painting needs.
