UPDATE: been a few years but I'm on to a new project! We hired Tim for a second time for an interior painting project, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, he and his team were professional, punctual, and incredibly detail oriented. They took the time to properly prepare surfaces, used high quality materials, and kept our home very clean throughout the whole job. They were responsive to all my questions and offered helpful suggestions on colors and finishes. The end result was flawless. My home looks fresh, modern, and beautifully transformed. I would highly recommend Curtner Painting to anyone looking for reliable, skilled painters who genuinely care about their craft. I'll definitely be calling them again for future projects! read more

My review had a follow up. Had several emails from Tim from Curtner Painting. He asked about my reasons for giving them a one star rating. I answered in detail by performing a financial analysis of his quote. He quoted $875 for a small project that requires modest supplies and 3 hours of labor. I had it done for $300 twice in the past . Even if the supplies cost $125, which they don't, it works out at $250 per hour of labor. I told Tim his rates were unreasonable. And I was looking to hire a painter, not a Fortune 500 CEO at $250 an hour! I contacted two other contractors and they acted very professional and quoted less than half of what Curtner Painting quoted. Do you know what Tim told me in the follow up email after I gave him full answer and analyzed his quote? I quote: " I priced it on the high end, so you would pick another contractor. While walking around the house, I had a bad feeling about you". I never had a contractor before who developed any feelings about me before, let alone bad ones. Being caught with the super inflated quote, Tim admitted to inflate the price. And he did it as a sore loser. People don't double market rates in their quote and act as sore losers after losing to a reasonable contractors by saying "they priced it in the high end, so the customer picks up another contractor". If the company does not want business they say they are booked for the next few months and don't waste time on providing a quote. Two other contractors did not have "bad feelings" about me, and provided reasonable quotes. I am happy to go with either one of them. Stay away from Curtner Painting. Dishonest and unprofessional. read more

I have worked with Tim on multiple projects in Palm Springs, including interior and exterior painting and stucco repair. The care and attention that he and his colleague Frank show at each step of the process--from taping around borders and windows to final cleanup after all work has been completed--is top notch. I have never been disappointed in the quality of their work and overall attention to detail. They are accommodating and quick to complete any touchups that may be needed--and all for very fair and reasonable prices. I wholeheartedly recommend Curtner Painting and definitely plan to call upon their services again in the future. read more

Tim and Frank were the best painters I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Their bid was as low as anyone else and the job was completed ahead of schedule. The made what can be a headache, painless. They provided creative input on color and design and took care of things I thought I was going to need a handyman for. They are flat out, THE BEST. read more

There are several things I don't understand. I don't understand the 100% response rate when he hasn't answered me all day. I don't understand why you leave voicemails and the calls are not returned. Perhaps he's just having a bad day. But I will take my business someplace else. read more

Here's an update. Now that I'm finished pulling hundreds of pieces of rotten lambs skin roller out of the painted walls and touching it up. I thought I would add this to my prior review - nice work on the hinges on this door - painting one and not the other two. Here is the estimate I was given shown in the email below. $5175 not including $600 additional (check number 1497) for more paint, and not including the paint I had to buy. Keep in mind it only included ONE closet and did not include one entire bedroom in a 2000 sq.ft. house. Total cost $5675. Tim and Frank do great work and are a pleasure to deal with. We priced out the interior painting of our Palm Springs home, along with a lot of patching, and Tim easily had the best price. The work they did was the highest quality (can't even tell where the patches are, and that included with the texturing), and whenever we need additional work done Tim is quick to come over and take care of things. Really cool guys, no drama, completely trustworthy... we don't have to be here to supervise, which is great. I've recommended Tim to other people, and will definitely continue to use him in the future. read more

They painted the interior of our home and did a great job. We have polished concrete floors, they did a great job of covering the floors from paint drips and over spray. Two of our bedrooms they did a custom painted strip across the room which came out great. This is the second home they have painted for us. Great guys, Job well done! read more

They were timely, professional and did an outstanding job. I am hiring them for further work.

I knew Curtner Painting would be the team I hired to paint the exterior of my 1960's vintage home since they did the interior several years ago. The time finally came and it was in pretty bad shape. I hired a general contractor to restore the wood before having Curtner Painting do their prep work. Tim and Frank actually discovered several wood beams and posts that were not replaced or repaired with wood fill and they were able to compete the restoration. Their work was far superior that the GC which I had hired. I was so impressed by their work as the exterior really needed lots of TLC. Tim and Frank are a great team and they are the really deal. Professional painters who really take great pride in their job and actually like the work they do vs going through the motions like many others I have come across in the last 6 years since moving to the desert. Here are a few pics of their work and even a before picture of my rotted beams!! Thanks Curtner Painting, you made my old house gorgeous. . read more

Tim and Frank did a fantastic job at a very fair price. I'm picky about customer service as well as quality, so I don't dish out 5 stars lightly. I would hire Curtner Painting again in a New York minute. Highly recommended. read more

I got quotes from about 5 companies for a full exterior paint job. Tim Curtner was the first to respond, offered the most competitive price (and honored that even after lots of extra trips for materials), wasn't pushy in any way, and was quick to answer questions and follow up on scheduling. He and his partner Frank were very patient and courteous and took their time to do a really good job. They did a lot of stucco repair along with the full repaint. A note that since it's a small crew, it will take extra time so plan accordingly. I'd definitely use them again! read more

Perfect Painters!. We have had Curtner Painting paint our homes inside and out 3 different times. They are a family owned business for over 25 years and really perfectionistic. They have helped us choose colors and their suggestions really work out well. They are honest in every way in which trust is a big deal to us. During the times they have painted neighbors have come to get their phone number or pick up their cards after they finish the work.. We literally see them for up to a month painting for people close by! We could not think of hiring anyone else because of the result each time. read more

I found Tim on Yelp and decided to try him based on the reviews and his quotes. If I could give him 500 stars I would. We met with him once and based on the great vibe and reference check, I left keys behind in a lock box; he came and went when I was off the premises. I think his prices were very fair and his attention to detail was truly perfection. I could not be more pleased, the place is exactly what we wanted. His professionalism was outstanding. read more

Curtner Painting did a fantastic job on our not-so-easy-to-paint deep stucco home. Quality was their aim and I would say they met it! Our home looks gorgeous and they even took on a last minute additional request to paint our back deck. I highly recommend them for both their work and their customer service. read more

Tim and his assistant, Frank, did an outstanding job painting our living room, guest room, office and exterior touch-up a few weeks ago. They were on time, very professional, neat and clean in their work and respectful of our belongings and personal space. They were conscientious about asking questions and seeking clarifications before starting to paint the different areas. They went to great effort covering areas with tarp and plastic in order to protect our furniture and household items. Tim stuck to his estimated time frame and bid which helped my tight schedule and budget immensely. This is the second time that I have used Curtner painting, and I will continue to use them for all our painting needs in the future. I wholeheartedly and without hesitation recommend Curtner painting for all your jobs!!! read more

Very professional and down to earth family painters. You could tell they are not trying to make things up to get you to pay more money. Honest, on time, and hard working. They painted the inside of our house fabulously (which I know we weren't easy because we asked for 4 different shades of grey in one room! Lol- but they made it look great) so then we called them to do the outside of our house too! Couldn't be happier :) read more

Good price, hard working and attention to detail. Easy to communicate with. I will have him back for my next job.

Tim and his key helper Frank did a terrific job across many weeks in the summer of 2017 at stripping wall paper, painting with an eye towards details, and doing great stucco repair work after some very old windows were replaced. Costs were reasonable as well, and things were completed when they were promised to be. Will definitely stick with Tim and Frank in the future. read more

I initially decided to get 3 different estimates for my Master Bedroom and Bath. Tim with Curtner Painting was on time and got back to me with his written estimate quickly. Regarding the other 2 companies, one was a no show, and the other company never got back to me with his written estimate until 2 days later. Tim (Curtner Painting) was also the lowest bid, and he was able to begin painting within a couple of days. He was professional, polite, and hardworking. He was careful with the furnishings and asked questions regarding different areas when needed. He was able to work while people, including a baby, occupied the home. He welcomed feedback and was quick to fix any areas that we felt needed a touch up. I would definitely use him again if needed. Thanks Tim! read more
