Leon at Standstead airport is not particular the best. I usually eat at the other chains, pret, Starbucks etc. But because they were ram to the brink, I thought, never tried Leon, let's give it a go. Prices same-ish, but don't mind.
I found it very cramped, they crammed too many table and seats here, to the point where if you sit down, the person behind you cannot. I kept getting knocked from the people trying to get in and out of the resturant.
The breakfast bap, sausage and egg muffin with a cup of tea was nothing special, fell apart whilst I was eating it, not a good sign, kind of salty, both bread and sausage, not impress when Leon is trying to advertise itself as a healthy conscious restaurant. Service was quick and friendly.
Leon's reminds me of typical cafes in Europe, minus Britain. Similar space wise, decor wise and the culinary.. Its different from the usual and common experience which I come to expect when eating at the other big chains. The formular is somewhat different, and I guess it's needs to be different for it to succeed, in an already heavy saturated sea of quick eats.
Unfortunately, when I am hungry and need a quick bite and to rest my feet a little, these differences is what matters when I choose where to eat. But I am sure many others will love it. Just not my cup of tea. read more
