I like this place, don't come to it often though as its right the other side of town and in the…read moremiddle of nothing much else really, just the grafton centre, so i imagine its probably not the best place to have this bar. Have eaten here several times and the food has been really good, they do all sorts, burgers, sandwichs, sausage and mash, salads, fajitas, etc, all really nice food and price is ok. Good service (ive never seen it rammed in here!) and the place is modern, airy and light, like the decor, although it can feel a bit empty at times, i guess thats just the lack of visitors! If you are over the grafton and going to the cinema, instead of opting for chillis why not try this place, you'll probably get served quicker and the food is of better quality.

First- I was Starving when I ate here. But I was happy with pretty much everything I ate!…read more I have to say though- for an 'international' buffet- it didn't seem that there were that many different types of food. Mostly Mexican, Chinese, and Indian. Not really any Western European food at all. And... the desserts!! This was what I was most disappointed with- they had an ice cream bar (really?), and a couple kinds of pastries (the ice cream was better). So- the food that I ate was good, but I don't think it was truly an 'international' buffet. Plus the waiters were not very helpful.

We received 1 round of drinks when we first sat down. After that the servers disappeared. That's not quite true. They were clearly visible, but their only concern was talking to each other near the staff room doors and they were incredibly skilled at disappearing behind those doors as soon as a customer dared to approach. The tables around mine were littered with empty plates as the servers failed to remove the dirty dishes. The whole point of this restaurant is that you get a clean plate and cutlery every time you go up to the buffet so that you can taste the food you want on this trip and not mix your Lasagne with your aromatic duck I made the mistake of taking my family here for my mums 50th Birthday Meal. Never again. And watch out for the Service Charge. The receipt states it is voluntary but when I asked about it the staff advised they don't add this charge. They refused to give me a receipt until after I paid, and guess what? A £5.61 service charge miraculously appeared.

This restaurant seems to be pretty popular for dinner party or a big group dinner, especially…read morebirthday or Christmas dinner. I came here with my coworker for dinner on friday and the restaurant was completely full with groups celebrating x-mas, even if it was just a first week of December. Food was OK but most main dishes were indian/asian food. There are salad bar, fried appetizers and ribs and pizza (not very good). You can get pasta-made-to-order. Dessert bar has a few kinds of cakes and various kinds of ice-cream. I thought most indian dishes and one chicken thai curry dish are better than other dishes. So, I'm not sure if this is good if you are looking for a good variety of western food.. For normal price at 13 pounds, it was OK but I paid 25.50 pounds for same menu as other season just because it was December. It's not worth 25.50 pounds, especially drinks are not included. Friendly service.

I have been to Ilaichi many times since it opened, and ok, the dishes tend to stay the same week to…read moreweek, but there is one reason in particular I love this restaurant so much.... It is outstandingly good for anyone with a food allergy/intolerance. My girlfriend, who lives in Florida, is gluten intolerant, and so when she came to stay this summer just gone it was very difficult to find restaurants that had any range of food that she could eat. However, at Ilaichi, every dish is individually labelled on the buffet, whether its dairy/gluten/nut free, and over 80% of the food was in fact gluten free! Even the onion rings, and my girlfriend had said that this was the first time she had been able to eat onion rings in three years. I gave Ilaichi four stars, only because their food stays the same from visit to visit, and some of it is just average in flavour. But most of it tastes pretty good for being out on a buffet for a few hours! Also their range of foods is excellent, covering Indian, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, and with a salad and dessert bar.

Minimalist interior design but airy - not as big as I would have expected. Prompt service and attentive waiters - it wasn't that busy so I didn't really feel pressurised to eat up and get out like at some buffet restaurants. Varied selection of foods ranging from pizza, chips, salads, chicken nuggets to selected Chinese, Mexican and Indian dishes. There was also a dessert buffet with cakes, fruit and ice creams. Even the most fastidious eater (and children) should find something to eat here. As a previous reviewer remarked, allergen information provided for dishes. But, as with everywhere, drinks were a bit pricy. If you're in the vicinity and looking for bulk and no frills, this place will do the job - no problem. I would go again and certainly would consider going with a group of friends. The establishment currently has a food hygiene rating of 5 (very good). See http://bit.ly/TDT475 I'll give it 4 stars: just thought it was a tad bit pricy. No complaints with the food, though.
