I'm thrilled with my experience here. The staff here are great, especially Sheila and Debarge! Dr. Pak is super nice too...and professional. He explained everything so well. Initially, I was told my glasses would be ready in 5-7 business days unless they had my lenses in stock. Turns out they had my lenses in stock! I was able to leave, go eat some lunch, stop in Sephora, and then I got called back saying they were ready for pickup. This was about a 30 min. wait. In at noon...out by 1:30! How awesome is that! Kudos go to Debarge for finding out that I actually did have some vision savings discounts through my insurance that I could use. He saved me a nice chunk of change! read more

I still think they are great at LensCrafters at Woodfield. One of the nose pads ran away from home recently. If you wear glasses and ever lost a nose pad, you know it can be quite painful and irritating to have those sharp metal prongs hooking into you. If you wear glasses and have not experienced it, don't. Right after the lunch rush, I stopped by hoping they would help. I was not too sure when I arrived. There were two people behind the counter talking business to themselves but didn't acknowledge me right away. But after a few moments, they did. I explained why I was there and they said they would take care of it. It would take about 15 minutes. I can't see without my glasses. Well, I can see shapes and generally know what things are. I paced the floor. Picked up a few of the glasses they sell and tried some on. It was probably very funny to see me squinting and putting my face almost on the mirror to see them. 15 minutes later, they were cleaning a pair of glasses and calling me over to try them on. They were clean and the nose pad replaced. Best part? No charge. Great service. read more

Very odd, unpleasant experience at LensCrafters earlier today. I said, "Hi, I'd like to get my glasses adjusted." She said, "Sure, it's because your ears are uneven or your mask." "Uh, no, actually I opened my car door and hit the glasses." "I'm just telling you, if it happens again, it's because your ears are uneven or your mask." What the heck? Ignoring the fact that what she said was ridiculous, she didn't apologize for my wait, she insulted me, and she was rude and disagreeable. This associate (petite female) should not be allowed to talk to customers. Next time I spend hundreds on glasses I'll likely go elsewhere. read more

I have nothing but great respect and thanks for the entire staff of Lens Crafters at the Woodfield Mall location. Today, I had brought my son for a 2nd time in 4 months. He needed a new test and new lens. Our insurance was used in the last visit and so everything was out of pocket for me. It would have been many hundreds of dollars. Without me even asking, they all worked diligently behind the scenes to find me every discount that was available. I had literally put my debit card in the machine to pay the full price when they told me to take it back out. After several minutes, they brought the bill down below a hundred dollars for the test and new lens. I've rarely seen such kindness from one person let alone an entire staff working together to help me and my son. Thank you all that were there today! You are fantastic people and I hope great blessing for all of you. I promise to pay this forward to someone else in need. read more

No complaints here. Dr. Bak was great with the eye exam and thorough! I would give her 5 stars! Dr. Pak examined my wife's eyes and was very honest and helpful, 5 stars for him too. The wait after making an appointment is not great, waited 20 minutes. The selection of frames is ok, for me not extensive enough or too much available from brands I do not care for. Prices with insurance are reasonable especially for frames. The lenses is where I get confused! Expensive and many options, premium, standard, anti glare, scratch resistant, carbonate etc etc. The bill is also very confusing and does not make sense how it is itemised. read more

I got my new glasses and when I got home I realized that the glare was so bad that you can't even see good I told everyone there I drive for living I need the bast of the bast well that didint happened so I went back there today to see what's going on with my glass so the manager sent assistant manager to talk to me it turns out they didint put anti glare and no one told me or even offered that option when I was there the first time long story short I had to pay for new lenses and I won't get those for another 2 weeks waisted my time paid $1000 I don't mind paying if I get what I need but you pay and you don't get what you need they just lost a customer read more

Pat is the best. A friend was in town for a week and his glasses broke. We went to three other of the chain store eyeglass stores. None of them would help us. At Lenscrafters things were different. LensCrafters exceeded my expectations when I went to their location at Woodfield Mall yesterday, which was Thursday 01/25/24. I had inadvertently broken a pair of prescription Oakley glasses that I had purchased 3 years ago at a Target Optical in the state of MN. I happened to be in the mall that day and thought I would go to LensCrafters to see if they would be able to fix my glasses. I made them aware that I had purchased the glasses through Target Optical originally, and to my surprise they still held the glasses overnight and had the technician fix the glasses the next day free of charge. I was expecting to be charged for the repair especially since the glasses were not originally purchased through LensCrafters. They called me the following day stating the glasses were fixed and ready to be picked up. LensCrafters exceeded my expectations and they have earned my future business for their kind assistance. read more

The person in charge told me that those lenses start at $400.00!! I went to sears optical with the same question. The cost for no line bifocals installed $170.00!! I REGRET going here for my eye exam. They are not in network with VSP (Of course, they never explain this to you), but I still went because my wife's insurance is in network with them. At the end of the contact lens exam, they told me they will call me back once the samples arrive and then I would try them on and pick up my prescription. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's been almost ONE MONTH, and I've made THREE CALLS so far, but still don't have samples nor prescription. Recently went in for an exam with Dr Pak. 5 stars for Dr Pak but giving 4 stars because I had to wait 45 minutes to be seen. Everyone was extremely friendly. Dr Pak was super personable! I got some extra goodies to try which is always nice. Got some new contact solutions to try as well as extra solution of what I usually use. So super appreciative of that! Shysters. My husband went in and asked if they accepted VSP insurance. He was told that they were in network. He got his exam and ordered a basic pair of lenses with a pair of $170 Oakley frames. Our insurance covers frames up to $180. Long story short, he was told that he had to pay for the glasses up front and that VSP would reimburse us. They would file the claim. No reimbursement came through. They are not in network for VSP. We were stuck with $297 on credit card. We will get $130 back from insurance (I had to file) because LensCrafters is out of network. These should have been fully covered. The manager did nothing to rectify the situation. My suggestion...skip the mall stores and go to a real eye doctor office, not a place just trying to sell glasses at ridiculous prices. read more

I have always gone to LensCrafters for my glasses. This is my first time at this location. I was a little apprehensive since it was at the mall but it was the most convenient location from where I live. We got there 5 minutes before our appointments and was taken back within 5 minutes for our pre-screening. After that we were asked to go on the floor to look for frames. They were about 45 minutes late for our eye exams but I was preoccupied looking for frames anyway so it didn't matter to me. After choosing our frames we were fitted. They were super busy and the girl (Jean) that was helping us was very helpful and apologetic for things taking so long. We were probably there for 2.5 hours but her customer service was so excellent I didn't even care :) needless to say, I have my glasses and she fit them great and I got them the same day. No complaints here! Dr. Bak was great and thorough! If you have other plans I would suggest maybe making an appointment on a weekday because they were VERY busy. read more

Spouse and I have been long-time customers of Lenscrafters, however, due to a recent disability one of us has to use a mobility scooter. In search of a new pair of eyeglass frames, store not crowded on 5-30-22 @ 7:30pm (2 customers in store). Never had an issue with using their restroom in an emergency--ever, but suddenly PRIsciLLa (Manager on Duty) flew out of her chair like a bull in a china closet and charged towards me as I had my hand on the Restroom door handle insisting multiple times I could NOT use it because it was not a "public" restroom. There was no other option and there were no signs saying so. She was a rude, thoughtless little pig who should never be employed in any customer service position dealing with human being contact. And, she also had B.O. Finally, due to it being an emergency, I just opened the door and went in. Denying someone with a disability access to a restroom when they have their hand on the door handle is about as low as you can get. Shame on you, PRISCILLA @ Woodfield Lenscrafters. "Addie" was a pleasure to work with. In the past, I loved dealing with "Pat" as well. Towards the end of the visit, I "did" ask PRIsciLLA for an opinion on the frame color as I wanted to test her behavior and she refused to talk to me so judge for yourself what type of person she really is. We will NEVER buy anymore eyeglasses from LENSCRAFTERS as long as she is employed there. Store Market Manager, Ashia King, was not on the premises at the time to report this incident. What could have been a nightmare turned into a great experience, thanks to the wonderful and helpful staff at LensCrafters' Woodfield outpost. I went in this morning to get my new (non-LC) glasses adjusted by straightening out the arms. The lab accidentally applied heat too close to my (again, non-LC) 1.67 high index lenses, crazing the anti-reflective coating and essentially rendering one lens completely useless. After a quick chat with the manager, they offered to cut me new lenses on the spot to make up for it. The only caveat would be that they wouldn't be high index, and therefore thicker than the frame by a bit. Choosing not to miss out on seeing my own birthday party clearly later this evening, I went with that option. Throughout the entire process, they were fantastic people to work with, and now I have fully adjusted glasses with perfect lenses. I can't begin to thank them enough for being willing to help me out. Extra thanks goes out to Victoria for making sure I walked out the door satisfied. Yeah, it was a few-hour setback in my day, but when it comes to my eyes, I'm more than willing to be patient for a positive outcome. Thanks again! I knew there's a reason I've been going to this same store for over 5 years running! read more

Horrible experience, that was only partly the fault of the store, however they were not empowered to do anything about it. I've been a customer for several years, using the same insurance. I arrived for my appointment on Saturday (after confirming on calls from central scheduling and the store itself) only to be told I was showing inactive with insurance. I work at the fund and know I'm active so I call Eyemed and they say they have NO history of any claims with them on my plan and I'm not in the system, however the store has my history, with all claims filed through Eyemed and paid. So that's not their fault. Eyemed was useless, so that wasn't getting resolved today. I asked the store 2 some questions: 1. Why was this not checked prior to my arrival? (To which the answer was basically a shrug) 2. If I can show you I'm active (and I have a history) why can you not wait until Eyemed resolves the issues and bill it then? The answer to the second question was simply, "Well we're dependent upon the system for filing and there's nothing we can do." NO ONE CAN FILE A PAPER CLAIM?!?! So it was either I pay upfront and file or reschedule. I explained I work 40+ hours a week, have CEs due for my CFE, am studying for my CPA, and have a 2yo. Why am I having to reschedule for a system failure or why am I taking on the A/R vs the chain with millions in revenue? More shrugs, more blaming the system, no solutions offered. Absolute garbage experience and will never use them again. read more

I had my eyes examined here on the one day they seemed to be busy. The doctor, an Asian male, was in a hurry and gave really crummy service. The prescription lenses don't feel right and changing from my indoor glasses to my sunglasses gives me headaches. The store sent me a survey to complete and I mentioned my dissatisfaction but never heard back. My solution: I'm going back to my little Doctors office where they genuinely care for each patients needs. Save money, save time, support your local businesses and get better service. read more

Do yourself a favor and go to a different Lenscrafters. Came here with my boyfriend a bit before closing to get his glasses fixed because the screw on one of the arms broke (little complicated repair to be fair, but came down to just needing to clear out gunk from a different lenscrafters' mistake and putting in a new screw and bolt. The arm itself was unbroken). The guy (I think he's relatively new) was able to fix it, which was good, but then we asked if it would be possible to adjust the arms because they were not even. He said no problem and went to adjust it, then proceeded to break the other arm. He put it together with heat shrink and called it a day ?! Heatshrink is essentially maybe a step up from taping it back together. Okay, so now we have a patched up pair of $300 glasses that we can't close the arms of and put in a case. My boyfriend is less willing to get confrontational, so we initially walked out of the store, but I did not feel okay about the situation so we went right back in to ask if we would get any sort of compensation for them breaking the arm and the new guy and an older man working there essentially went: "no. You asked us to adjust your glasses and we spent a long time fixing them. The best we can offer is $25 off when you come in and get an exam and a new pair of glasses." HECK NO THAT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE. So I asked to speak to a manager, and the older man, Hamed, gave a ton of attitude and basically shoved a business card at me and said to call for the manager tomorrow. OKAY. I'll cut the guy who actually broke the glasses some slack because he was new, but the other man left me extremely irritated. So the next day, I called Mr. Jones, the general manager and he didn't answer his phone, so I left two voicemails. Didn't get a call back so the following day during my lunch break I called again and he finally answered. I explained the situation to him, and he said that he was briefly informed, but not in the detail that I gave him. My partner and I were going out of town that day for the weekend, so I arranged with Mr. Jones to come in on Monday after work so that he can evaluate the glasses. I sent him photos of the glasses just in case as well. Mr. Jones was out on Monday when we came in, but he returned my call fairly quickly and said that the resolution they came to was to replace the broken arm with a new one. I was hoping that they would just replace the glasses, but I felt like this was a fair resolution so I was happy with it. So we went back into the store and one of the managers took the glasses and was working on it behind the desk. As we were waiting, Hamed, the older man who was giving me attitude the day the other associate broke the glasses, proceeds to talk crap about me and my partner, AS I'M IN EARSHOT. Then finishes by saying: "I'm gonna get out of here before I really get into it" and goes to the back to get his stuff. Comes back out, gives me and my partner dirty looks, and leaves the store. I'M ABSOLUTELY LIVID AT THIS POINT, but I don't even say anything because I just wanted to get the glasses back and get the heck out. We finished up and I immediately called Mr. Jones and let him know we got the glasses fixed, and that the manager that we worked with was helpful and kind. But I also let him know how incredibly unprofessional Hamed was. Mr. Jones replied with "That should not have happened because not only does that affect your experience, but other customers could have heard him as well. I will discuss with him that he should not be stating his opinions on the floor." This translates to: "I'll tell him not to complain about customers in front of them." Which, I get it, I've worked a customer service job before, you go to the back and you talk crap about them. Sure, fine. But the AUDACITY this man has to do that when I'm less than 10 feet away and can CLEARLY hear him over an issue that a coworker of his caused. This man should not have a job where he has to interact with clients or customers. Shame on you, Hamed. Grateful that Mr. Jones came up with an acceptable resolution, although it took more calls and pushing from my end than it should have. The ONLY part that I have no complaints about is the manager who replaced the arms, I believe her name was Uzma (hopefully I spelled that correctly). She was extremely efficient, professional, and kind. The other arm was also replaced, which was a pleasant surprise because we were just expecting the one. The arms couldn't be made to be perfectly straight, but she told us this before even handing the glasses to us and explained why. IF there's ever an emergency and we have no choice but to come to this location again, I am going to be sure to only ask for her. But the entire situation was handled so poorly by Hamed that I never want to return to this store despite living only 10 minutes away. Do yourself a favor and go to a LensCrafters with employees that have some sense of courtesy and basic social skills. read more

BUYER PLEASE BEWARE...THESE ARE YOUR EYES!!! I came to this place as my jobs benefit had sent out mailers. when I walked in there was an irate man at the counter discussing his poor service and he had never been treated this poorly. should have taken that red flag and left. then was told by the manager that the computers were down so they didn't have access to my apt time and they gave it to a walk in. should have left. 45 minutes later they got me in to see someone other than the dr. she spoke like a half wit from a movie like "dude wheres my car" should have left. being a tall guy she couldn't get all the machines to fit me asking me to slouch down and bend and twist myself to see through the machines. should have left. after a lengthy apt dr. p. walks in and says you need bifocals...ok I am in my 40's maybe. he says if you don't want em set some reading glasses you will be ok. changes all my prescriptions changes my brand of contact tell him I am happy with what I have he says try these. gives me no choice says he will switch back to old brand if I don't like em in a month, shoulda left. I actually get a pair of glasses and a free trial pair of contacts. takes two weeks to get my glasses. they take my ENTIRE optical benefit and another $200 out of pocket. once I finally get these glasses I do give them a try for almost a month...I had headaches, dizzy, these prescriptions were soooo off I couldn't even read the speedometer of my car. I go back to my old script (2yr old) and holy S$%& I can see again. I can drive and I am not dizzy and no headaches. I go back to this guy and all he has to say is get bifocals, I ask him why my old prescription is clearer and better than his...he says get bifocals. will not listen, or make any accomodations. now I am a laid back quiet dude. I do not raise my voice. I had to raise my voice. after a few choice words and telling this guy that I had to go for a 2nd opinion as requested by my insurance provider and was told "who gave you this prescription?" I was told he would grant me a full refund. I have never been treated soo poorly and with such careless service. these are my eyes and you are gonna play with em for your dollar. that's wrong. I have just been refunded my entire benefit and will be returning to my old dr. even though it is a longer drive and a little more of an inconvienience. but eyesight is too important to allow some mall dr to play with to grab your insurance benefit. read more

I will start by saying that when I went in for the exam and purchased two pairs of glasses the woman who helped me was great, if I could remember her name I would recommend waiting to deal with her. After I paid my money I no longer became a customer apparently. I had a $500 pair of sunglasses being fitted with my prescription and they said it would take around 2 weeks. I was also promised they would call me as soon as they were in. After 3 weeks without a call I decided to call them and see what was taking so long. The person who answered the phone said he would call back in 5 minutes as he was going to check on them. An hour later still no call I arrived at the store. I was shocked to see how slow it was and did not get a call back. After finally getting some help the person opened the box said here you go and went back to chatting with his friends. I had to go to 3 different people to pick up the pieces of the glasses (receipt, box, case). I asked why I did not receive a call he said they had the wrong number after I confirmed what they had. Not once was an apology offered. Bottom line I will never go there again and I recommend you do the same. Go to a different area lenscrafters and see if they have the slights clue about customer service. read more

I was fully intending to go elsewhere but late summer/early fall is so busy for me I just didn't have time to research a new place, and I really needed new lenses, so I booked an appointment. I really wish I'd just waited a little longer. I wasn't helped until 20 minutes after my appointment, when the doctor finally came out and told me she would be doing the prescreening because there was no one else available to do it. When she brought me back to the exam room, and she shined the really bright light in my eyes, it took far longer than I remember it being before, to the point where I was starting to worry that there was something wrong. By the time we were done, my eyes were watering and I had huge white spots impacting my vision. She then continued to do the exam anyways, asking me which versions looks better, even though I *couldn't see properly* (and was blinking rapidly and staring blankly because I couldn't focus on anything due to the spots) which made it pointless. I wanted to replace the lenses in my current frames, as well as get some tinted sunglass lenses (I already had the frames for both pairs). I was told it would be $230 *just for the lenses* for the sunglasses, using my own frames! I couldn't believe the cost! The last time I got sunglasses done it cost me under $200 INCLUDING new frames. no discounts or insurance coverage or anything like that. I told them no, just got my regular glasses, and walked out. When I got home, I realized I had a birthday coupon for free sunglass lenses with the purchase of a $120 pair of frames. (This seemed like a suspiciously good deal since as I was just quoted, the lenses alone cost $230.) I ended up finding a really cool pair of frames for exactly $120 that I actually liked better than my own frames I'd brought in. I was starting to feel a bit better from the previous day's sticker shock. Should've known better! Of course, those frames wouldn't work. Something about the style of frame would cause the lenses to crack when the lab put them in, even though they were the same style as they frames I'd brought in the day before, and no issue was mentioned then. I was then directed to pick a different pair from the far wall, where, you guessed it, everything was at least $40 more expensive. (I eventually went against their instructions and found a $120 pair that worked.) I asked for a rose tint, and made sure to let them know, several times, that these were to be SUNglasses, so they needed to be darker. When I came to pick up my glasses, the lenses were, of course, light pink. He offered to take them back and make them darker for me, but the result was only a little bit darker... when he handed them to me, he said that he'd told the lab that I'd said I wanted them "a little darker, but only a little bit, not too much". Except I gave him no such instructions! At this point, though, I was already running very late and told him that I would have to come back later to have them darkened further. He handed me a packet with my receipt and a copy of my exam records. On the envelope was written a date, one year into the future. Because of the issues I had (read previous reviews) I asked him specifically if he had booked an appointment. He told me repeatedly that no appointment had been booked, that it was "only a courtesy reminder". Naturally, I open up my email today, and I have a lovely little note sitting there waiting to inform me about the appointment booked for me for next year's exam. So, I'm done. I've been given a questionable exam, quoted a ridiculous and suspiciously-high price, given the runaround on frames, TWICE had appointments booked for me that I didn't ask for, and been hounded to reschedule my appointment when I canceled the first time. I will not ever be returning. read more

I went in yesterday to buy a pair of frames with my insurance benefits. I tried glasses on for about 30 minutes and not one of the five people working even acknowledged I was there. I went up to the counter with a pair of frames in hand saying I wanted to buy them. The man had me sit down at a desk to wait...while 4 people stood behind the main desk simply talking. My sister put a timer on to see how long it would take before someone came to help me. 5 minutes later a women who finished an order with one patient came over and was going to ring me out. I ended up leaving without making the purchase. I refused to buy something at a place where the customer service was HORRIBLE! I've NEVER been in a store before where I am first ignored and then sat to wait when multiple people could have simply rang out my order. Needless to say, I'll be buying that frame at another Lenscrafters. read more

I had terrible experience at this store. First of all, I had a wrong diagnosis after I took the optomap. I told the doctor how come I didn't have such diagnosis last year at different lenscrafter location (michigan avenue Chicago). On the same day I went to the lenscrafter I went to last year and had optomap taken again, I talked to the doctor and she told me there is nothing to worry about and that my scan didnt change. How come I had different description of my condition then? I want to mention also, that I have asked the doctor at Woodfield mall location to ask for my previous year image from lenscrafter store at Michigan avenue, she said she will do it and call me in 4 to 5 days. And I didn't hear back from her. In my opinion the doctors do not feel with the patients and are not professional, I would never go again to this place. read more

I'll spare the details for now. Basically I've been waiting four weeks for my glasses from a place that advertises one hour wait time. I filed a complaint with their corporate customer service line and they said it could take up to five business days to get back to me and nothing can be done to expedite the process. As of now, I wouldn't recommend anyone do business with LensCrafters, not only at this location, but anywhere. Depending on how they handle this situation I could change my opinion, but it is unlikely. read more

I am not sure how a store can start the day off running 15 min behind...especially when we had the first appointment. They have doctors standing around with people waiting, and doctors checking people in. I'm all for all hands helping out, but it seems to me that their hourly salary and talents should be put to better use, like checking eyes and glasses. We are all busy, but what's the point of making the first appointment of the day if you aren't even going to stick to that schedule. read more

My first experience several years ago would have been a 2 star review at best. The contacts that I was prescribed didn't fit well and, despite several return visits, the optometrist made no attempt to fix the problem. My second visit to Lencrafters this past week was a 5+ visit. Sadie, the manager, was extremely professional and polite. My optometrist, Dr. Khan (sp?) was absolutely terrific. she spent time with me, explaining my options for being both near-sighted and far-sighted and came up with an excellent result. My advise: if you need contacts, go to this particular LensCrafters. Sadie will listen to you and ask for Dr. Khan. She is phenomenal. read more

After contacting the manufacturer of my frames they offered me two options for repair or replacement. They said I could send the frames to them for repair or try another LensCrafter location . I chose to contact the store in Bloomingdale. I called the Lens Crafter store in Bloomingdale and spoke to Stacy. She was amazing. She said she could help me and in less than two minutes she told me she would get me a replacement and would handle the process personally. She apologized for my frustrations and the poor results I had received at another location. She promised to call me on Monday and let me know the status of the replacement frames. read more

The people that work at this location are very kind. However, the glasses that I got have not been adjusted properly. I have came back multiple times for them to adjust it properly. To this day, they are still incorrect and I get headaches because they slip off my face. read more
