They have a huge drink selection, chip selection, snack selection and surprisingly a huge greeting card selection. I love that I can come downstairs to get balloons, a card and a gift for a coworker with ease. The card selection really is great and beyond helpful to have downstairs at work. They have a cute little stuffed animal section, as well. You can find a scratch & win lotto machine plus you're able to buy regular lotto tickets here as well. My lunch crew and I lovingly refer to the giftshop as 'downstairs' - even if we're on the ground floor level coming back from somewhere, we will still ask each other, you wanna go downstairs? Interestingly, The Paper store and Uncharted are actually sister stores under the same parent company, TPS Group Holdings. Uncharted is like The Paper Store's younger sibling, designed to attract a broader audience with trending items. While The Paper Store is known for gifts, Uncharted focuses on trendy brands, apparel, jewelry, home décor, and personalized in-store events. Some existing Paper Store locations are being converted to the Uncharted format, bringing a fresh look and feel. I was happy to have found a new Uncharted in Arlington Heights, with 13,000 square feet of space to shop. The store looked modern and pleasant, with a lot of different small departments. However, my first visit was just a mission to purchase the new moisturizer, which was on a random free-standing display and was easy to find. Unfortunately, I only had about 10 to 15 minutes to look around in that morning. It sure looked like a store that I would enjoy browsing for a much longer time. The checkout counter was located in the middle of the store, unlike most other stores that have the checkouts near the front entrance. So, I did spend a couple minutes looking for it, especially there was no line at the time. There was one young lady behind the counter who was friendly and helpful. She patiently explained their rewards program to me. It was free and easy to join. After signing up, in my email I received a 10% off coupon for the entire purchase in my next visit. Please note that there are fine prints below the coupon that exclude certain brands. As my relative really likes the moisturizer, I will certainly return to buy more and take advantage of the 10% off coupon. I will spend more time shopping next time, and very hopefully will elevate my shopping experience to 5-star.

I went in seeing if there was anything I could get as a Christmas gift. I found a shirt that I could give as a gift for my husband. When I went to checkout, I was offered a 10% discount for giving them my phone number and email address (which took some time that I didn't really have during the bust holiday season). They rang up my shirt and I gave them the coupon. When I asked about why the 10% discount was not given, the salesperson told me that I couldn't use it with their coupon. I then made them erase the personal information I just gave them. For wasting my time and not having good customer service, I will not be going back to Uncharted.

They have a lot more specialized merchandise that we did not see in other stores. For example there was a really large array of Alien Stage toys that we really haven't seen anywhere else. Woodfield Mall is the biggest in Illinois and it certainly isn't a surprise. A crap tons of stores are here. There's also a food court and restaurants. Certainly it has a lot of history. It's the main thing interesting about this suburb. There's a bunch of other businesses and restaurants that have come in around it and it's still got quality stuff after all of these years. As for the mall itself there's plenty to look at. The location is located close to major highways and there's bus routes. Has a lot of impact on the local economy. It opened in 1971 by the Taubman Company and is now owned by Simon. Has a few main anchors. There's currently JC Penney, Macy's, Nordstrom, and Primark. Has a couple of floors. On the first floor is Ben And Jerry's, Crocs, Express, Hollister, Starbucks, and TCBY. On the top floor is Anthropologie, Auntie Anne's, Eddie Bauer, LEGO Store, Uncle Julio's, and Zumiez among other things. A lot of course has changed. There used to be a Rainforest Cafe and of course there used to be Sears. Got to check it out even though it's not like it used to be. It's located along Golf Road. There's a few times it may be sketchy but people usually aren't violent or whatever.

Now the new security as of July 2026 is very gung-ho about not allowing ppl to "congregate" or "loiter" or "hang out" in the parking lots anymore. They are not allowing motorcycles or cars to just come to hang out like we've done for years. Yes, there are a few bad eggs, as with any groups of people, but for the most part people are just hanging out, taking pictures of cars, chilling, conversing and even patronizing the businesses that are there. Apparently, even if you go to the shops there you cannot enjoy your drinks or stuff in the parking lots anymore. In lieu of that, I hope that the place fails and businesses are going to suffer bc of it. Oh well. Find a new place to chill.
