Great customer service ! Everything was made easy from getting my exam to picking out my new frames !!

This is an unethical place. I went to get new glasses after 2 years. I told the sales lady that I have progressive lense and I want to find out how much the insurance covers. She checked the computer and told me that according to the computer,my cost would be $190. I asked her several times how much is progressive and she kept saying that I will be getting the same thing last time. I made an appointment two days later for the eye exam. The next day I called United Healh Care, my insurance company, they told me that for progressives, it's 100% covered so I asked why Lenscrafter wanted $190. The insurance person offered to get LensCrafters on the phone together to find out why. Only then did Lenscrafterd told us that it included something extra. Why didn't LensCrafters explained to me from the beginning that the progressives is covered 100% ? Were they trying to manipulate me to pay for the additional items? Even though I had done that the last time, shouldn't they at least be honest when I asked how much was progressives? When a business is shown to be manipulative and unethical, I won't do business with them! Had they been honest at first. I would have stayed. read more

The doctors/eye exam process is fine. However, the store attached to it is another story. My company's eye glass insurance is with Eye Med- which is run by the same parent company that owns LensCrafters- so I have to come here. I feel like getting my annual glasses is like going to car dealership- once I finally locate a semi reasonable frame which is like finding a needle in a haystack (90% of the store inventory is ridiculous expensive frames) i'm then opted into the most expensive, fancy lenses available. I then have to spend 5 mins asking them to remove all the fancy options for a basic lenses that works perfectly fine. I assume this is all done on purpose at the behest of Luxottica Corp. read more

It's been awhile since I got glasses so I decided to get my eyes checked and then get a couple pair of glasses. I ordered 2 pair and the first time my order came in it was for only one pair. Well they were a pair of progressive lenses and they really did not work for me. So I bought them back and and exchanged the lenses for single lens and no progressive. I also got a pair for reading but had to return those for a new prescription and use them for my computer. A lot of the transaction was pleasant and the staff were great. But they kept notifying me that my glasses were in, when only one pair was in. I kept telling them don't call unless both pair are in at the same time. So wasted a lot of time going back and forth. Not sure I'll return to this location but I'll continue to read the reviews to see how this place is. read more

Excellent for basic eye exams - professional, detailed and good availability. Always helpful when frames need adjustments. Only met two sales people who were a bit unprofessional over the years at this location. They are a great go to for basic vision needs, and have decent sales now and hen. read more

Just because I was not interested in $380 Gucci frame, three staffs all sneered at me and one even made a sarcastic comment on what I chose. Seriously? How rude are you all? You all have nothing better to do than insulting a customer? I will not make any purchases in the future, but I will be back for the eye exam. She was very helpful. read more

I came here for my eye exam on a Saturday morning . I had a short wait after I filled out the forms . The whole exam process went fast and smoothly . I went back another day just to pick out my frame ,got fitted and finished in less than 30 minutes . I came in for a scheduled eye exam, on time and left within 20 minutes completely disappointed. The two receptionists were on the phone and busy, but I was acknowledged that they'd be with me shortly. After finishing her call, she asked if I was there for an eye exam I said yes my exam is at 9:20am. She mumbled something to the other guy that the system wasn't letting her check me in the other guy mumble back that I needed to fill out paperwork never made eye contact just that I needed to fill out paperwork. She handed me a clipboard told me I needed to fill it out and said the waiting room is on the left. There was nobody in the waiting room, but I filled out my paperwork and sat there. The third person came and asked if I was done with my paperwork and said. " you were supposed to bring it up". I apologized and told her they just told me to come sit in the waiting room. I was not given instructions to bring anything up at this point. I was already uneasy. She came back and said I forgot one form whether I wanted some further eye testing, which I did not know I needed to choose on my own or have the optometrist decide if I needed it. I interrupted and asked if they even took my insurance since I was not even asked if I had insurance. She asked me to sign the paperwork and decline/accept the tests if I did or did not want them. They did take my insurance, but by the time she returned and told me I had a $10 co-pay I had already made up my mind that I was not staying. If it was such an awful start to an appointment, I could only imagine what I had waiting for me. The customer service here is awful!! I will never return here! read more

LensCrafters - Optometrists Near Me - Redondo Beach, California

This place is unethical. I would never go back and will be filing with the BBN. Although they have an incredible array of choices to try on, they are not upfront and forthright about not being a VSP provider. Backstory: I have VSP with incredible benefits ($200 frame allowance, practically every extra offered covered at zero copay). At least this was my experience for many years at San Pedro Eye Care. Well... we moved, our Optometrist and Optician both retired so we thought we'd find a new provider. BAD IDEA! I put up a post months ago on ND asking for referrals and got many who recommended LensCrafters. So... I go today I went for my eye exam. I was perplexed when 2x they told me my frame allowance is $75 and $50 for lenses and absolutely zero extras covered. I should have put the brakes on right there but went through the paces anyway. I'd already spent time for my exam and picking out new glasses. It wasn't until I got home that I decided to log on to VSP to see my benefits that were as we already know, drastically different then what I was given at LC. So I called them back and spoke to a manager who said they were out of network and not a VSP provider. When I inquired why no one made that clear to me even after I was confused by the benefits they quoted me her answer was "we don't have to disclose to you we're not a VSP provider, that's up to you to do your homework before you come in.". Wow, just wow! So my money was refunded for the glasses and now I'm out $140.00 exam fee (that I would not have paid with a VSP provider), she told me to call VSP right away to let them know I didn't actually use my benefits for 2023. Oh and btw, it may take 30 days for them to update your account. So now I probably won't get new glasses this year and what's worse, she said had the transaction gone through, VSP would have kicked me out of the plan for using an out of network provider. LENS CRAFTERS are crooks! I'm gonna call VSP tomorrow to see where I stand. read more

I was referred here through ASH "American Specialty Health" and my Medicare advantage plan, SCAN Healthcare. Scan uses EyeMed as their program and we get $345 of service per year with 1 free eye exam. I brought my own frames from 3 years ago and had my eyes, examined and bought my new lenses with regular bifocals and only had to pay $12. This review is less about the cost and more about the great service I received from KrisJane, Rubin, Dr. Dana and the whole staff I met from the start to picking up my finished glasses a week later. I have been coming to this Lenscrafters for many many years for many many things. I pass by 5 other Lenscrafter locations to come here and everytime they do not disappointment me. Like someone that truly loves you, even if I am gone for a while they always graciously take me back. This Lenscrafters is adjacent to Palos Verdes and South Redondo both very upscale sophisticated areas. And the quality of the work by their opticians is great--much better than other Lenscrafters in LA and certainly better than independent stores that ship your stuff to China or nefarious substandard locations for fabrication. Only Costco stands in the same quality realm as this Lenscrafters. Recently, I brought in an older pair of Rx Ray-bans that the wire holding the lens in snapped from old age. I purchased them here I don't know how many years ago but they were in excellent condition. Within an hour they fixed them and the Optician personally came out to deliver them to me with a smile--he was the best guy. They did not charge me these incredible people. Another place said "these glasses are shot, buy another $700 pair." Not at Lenscrafters--they just fixed em. While I was there, I shopped for Ray Ban non RX sun glasses for cycling and for when I wear contacts. Let me tell you something--if you are looking for Ray-Bans--this place is the Ray-Ban capital of the world. They have the best selection and I was here for 2 hours trying them all on. And I got the best one. It's great--I took them on vacation a few days later and everyone was asking me about them. And it gets even better: At checkout this Lenscrafters gave me 30% off Ray-Ban when I showed them my AAA card. That was a deal if I have ever seen a deal. Now as far as the people that work here--I had interaction with a few. Most were very pleasant and accommodating. One woman was kind of not really wanting to deal with me and did not know the right answer to things. It's like most businesses--if you are not getting along, you may have to turn to someone else when you get the chance. With the sunglasses, they left me alone and I kind of liked that. If I had a question they looked it up. But with glasses you need a lot of "me time" so you can experiment compare and contrast and go back and they seem to let you do that here. I like that about them--relaxed shopping. What I also liked was that they put out a few bottles of lens cleaning solution and lens papers so you can clean the glasses yourself. I did not need to bother anyone and could see right away if the lens was damaged--very important with non-Rx sun glasses. They have a 30 day return satisfaction guarantee. But I will tell you--they will have to pay me double or triple if they want my Ray-Bans back. So David, why did you not give them 5 stars after this glowing review? It's because I can't afford their Rx glasses--they priced right out of my range over the years, but I will look again next time because they are great people here. read more

I made an appointment for 3pm Saturday was not attended till 3:30. When I walked in there were maybe 2 other customers picking out glasses. Mind you I did their online pre check-in plus I came 15mins early which I am not counting since my schedule time was 3. When I asked the receptionist what time I was going to be seen with an attitude she remarked, "I am processing your insurance. I am about to call you". After the technician did my tests, it took the optometrist 20 minutes to attend me afterwards. It's clear this location does not value customers time. In all the many decades I have worn glasses, i have never had the anti-reflective coating wear off! I purchased my glasses from this store less than a years ago and recently noticed that the lenses were becoming cloudy. When I took them back to the store, I was told that the coating was coming off! Since there is no way to fix this problem, I was told that I would have to replace the lenses at a cost of over $400! It is outrageous that the coating would wear off in such a short time, or even at all. I am going back to my long-time optometrist, which may be more expensive at the time of purchase but the coating never wore off!! read more

The staff was not very helpful at the PCH location in Redondo Beach Ca.!! I have spent thousands of dollars at this store on glasses, and it's hard for me to find a pair of frames when I can't see in the 1st place. I was told to pick out some glass frames while they helped 5 people around me. I was so disappointed, and the customers just stared at me along with the employees, and I felt as though they were talking and laughing at me. I found them to be discriminatory and only helped the customers that they wanted to help. I even called to talk to a manager to voice my concerns and was brushed off. I was told that the manager would call me and he never did. I am going to contact corporate and reiterate my concerns. I was up sold expensive lenses that cost $831. The lenses are supposed to be SCRATCH RESISTANT. Well, they scratched. When I requested a replacement I was told by manager Ivan Silva that the lenses are not really scratch resistant and that I should have purchased the warranty that would cover scratches. I explained to him that I didn't get the $50 warranty because I had purchased the "scratch resistant" lenses. This company doesn't stand for its products and the customer service is non existent. I was basically scammed. I would not recommend to anyone. Avoid this place unless you want to get ripped off by a false sales pitch and/or a defective product. read more

Such a bad experience with careless doctor and manager who only care about money. I came here for an annual eye exam and made a pair of glasses. They said the glasses will be ready next day but when I went to pickup they said it's not ready. Then they never called to tell me when the glasses are ready. Their line is always busy. I was put on hold for 15 minutes and had been hang up twice until I can reach to someone. Later when I asked for a prescription for contact lenses, they refuse to give me and asked me to come again for an eye exam which I need to pay out of pocket. This has never happened to me with any other optical store. I wouldn't recommend anyone who care about time and money to this place. read more

This place will nickel and dime you. Got an eye exam here through insurance. Dr said one eye was -5.75, other eye was -5.5. No big deal, I asked if I could just have both be -5.5 for health purposes as I have extremely bad vertigo. She seemed to be amenable to this. I called back exactly 6 months + 1 week later to request glasses with that script. Apparently due to the doctor's failure of writing down -5.75 and -5.5 despite my request, there was no way to change both to -5.5 without another exam fee. They said if it was within 6 months it would've been possible without an exam fee. (It had been roughly 1 week over the 6 month mark.) Doesn't make sense as prescriptions are legally valid in CA for 1 year. To ask that both just be the same for continuity and ease of contact lenses should not be a big deal, especially because they have already seen me and diagnosed me with at least -5.5 in both eyes. Money grab. Ivan the manager was not helpful either. They told me it was either fork over $50 for another exam with the doctor or pay another $400 for new lenses. I chose to just get my glasses here due to lack of time, but I regret doing so and giving a single penny of my money to these people. I was told by the manager that each LensCrafters has differing policies due to owner preference, whomever the owner is, you are extremely cheap and lack any sort of customer care. In addition, there was the issue of an incorrect diagnosis. I went to another optometrist due to their incompetence, they told me that after checking both eyes, there was no reason to have them different to that extent. Both should have been the same at -5.5. The incompetent doctor who did my exam no longer works at this facility I was told. She was also the only optometrist to tell me I had strabismus - factually horrifyingly untrue as I had this rechecked with two different optometrists thereafter and BOTH confirmed that I had nothing of that sort. Extremely horrible customer service AND extremely low bar for medical care. I have never rated any medical service this low and I've had Kaiser. Also - another review states they heard workers talking about clients. I did hear this happen on one of the 3 or so occasions I had to go here. Very unprofessional read more

Excellent service, great variety of frames, and good prices. I went there with my own frames and I got 20% discount on the polycarbonate lenses. If I had also bought the frame there, I would've got a 40% discount on the lenses. Good thing to know. Also, I find the polycarbonate lenses better for clarity compared to the Trivex ones you get at Costco. read more

Ever year when I visit California I get my eyes checked. This location located on PCH, next door to the infamous pancake house makes for the perfect hop skip and a jump from my mothers house in the Hollywood Riviera. Super easy to schedule an appointment online giving to the fact that this location is not as busy or crowded as the Del Amo one. Dr. Jen Witkowski is my gal! She's super nice and my prescriptions are so much better than in the past.....She explains all the options .....why the this and why the that......I dig her. Usually it's just my wee lad and me, but this year I convinced number one to have his eyes checked. It's been 5 years for him since his last exam....... I came here to get the silicone nose pads on my glasses replaced. I did not purchase these eyeglasses here. Ivan said he would get it done in an hour or I could pick it up the next day. I returned first thing the next morning to pick them up. The nose pads looks great. When I asked how much it was the lady who helped me said there was no charge. I was pleasantly surprised. Wow! They have lost me as a customer, FOR GOOD. I've gone to multiple LensCrafters locations throughout the years, and they always disappoint. This one in particular has messed up MY order for the last time. I came in a month ago, told my glasses would take 7-10 days. I had to walk in on day 15 because they wouldn't answer the phone, I hadn't received a call to AT LEAST give me an update that they were running behind. And when I finally see my glasses, THEY MESSED UP. Apparently the manager gave me the wrong information about how thick the lenses would be, so I chose polycarbonate instead of High Index (BECAUSE the manager looked at my prescription & said the polycarbonate would be perfect, THEY WERENT) so they had to put in ANOTHER ORDER for lenses and once again they said 7-10 days BUT they would even try to expedite it faster than that. I had to WALK IN on day 15 once again because they didn't answer the phone. And now I have to wait an hour here until they cut the lenses. I can't even go home because I live 30 mins away, so instead I'm writing this review to kill some time. I don't even know why I returned after the last time I can to this location, the lady charged me for the anti-glare after I specifically told her I didn't want it. Apart from all that, the doctor was AMAZING with both my son and I. I wish she didn't work with LensCrafters. I would go visit her at any other practice IN A HEARTBEAT. I have been coming to this location on PCH in Redondo Beach since 2004 and have always had good service and pleasant people helping me. Since Manager Frank left, things have changed. I call but often no one answers. When I finally did get someone on the phone, she acted as if she didn't know how to proceed. She finally took my order for a replacement lens, asked me to hold and then 30 minutes later, I was disconnected. I called back to confirm my order had been placed (a callback would have been nice), but no answer. I called the next day to make sure she had my order and she did. She told me it would take about a week and that I would get a call when they were in them. I did not get a call, so I called again; and after trying a couple times, someone answered and told me the lenses were in. I came in to the store to pick them up and it was like it was unclear why I was there. They did have my lenses and I was told it would be an hour to put them in. I realize that their standard but I was the only person waiting. I heard employees talking to other customers and not very pleasantly. I heard one woman say to a man, good luck with that. I don't know if the change of management has anything to do with it or just new employees but it's really disappointing. I come here every year and buy one or two pairs of glasses. Not sure what I will do next year. I dislike writing bad reviews because I don't want people to get in trouble and possibly lose their jobs but it was such a drastic change that I felt I needed to write a review read more

Came In here to buy a pair of frames and when they was looking at some the Rep came up and said that they are only working for emergencies and appointments there was literally not 1 person at the frame section when the employee proceeded to see us out not the kind of place I would like to do business with again very disappointed. Not sure how they handle their business but they definitely have employees that don't care about there revenue never the less customer service. There is also nothing online saying you need an appointment or no walk ins unless and "emergency " I completely understand the covid part of it but there was literally NOOOOO ONEEEE THERE!!! I was just called by this location, letting me know that I was bumped another MONTH plus! Double book much? It would have been nice to be able to make other plans over the last 3 weeks. My prescription was overdue so I went to Lenscrafters for an exam. I decided to splurge and treated myself to a new pair of Versace glasses and Tiffany sunglasses. I was so excited to get them but unfortunately, something was wrong when I picked them up. I tried a few days to adjust to the new prescription but ended up resorting to my old glasses as I could see so much better. Long story short, they had to remake them twice, however, it wasn't the prescription that was the problem. Thanks to the genius of their manager, Frank Estrada, he figured out that my eyes were use to a flatter lense in my old glasses verses a slightly curved lense in the new ones. He immediately took care of the problem and I can't wait to get them. I had a great experience with everyone on staff at this location including the eye doctor who patiently re-examined my eyes twice to make sure my prescription was correct. By the way, their equipment here is state-of-the-art! The two times I had to redo the glasses, the staff was very helpful and patient with my frustration. They really seem to care about their customers and want to make sure they are happy! read more

Not great customer service, they are uninformed over what payments they take, are dishonest about when the glasses will come in, and most likely will not answer the phone......if they do though; you will be meet with 0 empathy, but on the plus side you will get a great feeling that they don't care about you and any issue you have are your problem and not theirs...... I don't think I will be going back to this location. Sometimes in life we get frustrated or dislike where we work, but there are things you can do to fix that without taking it out on the client. read more

Frank Frank!! He gives me Life! I used to come to this location only because they can get your glasses same Day or next day. The manager was a terrible Beast of a woman. She was mean, unprofessional, and just very unpleasant to deal with. I stopped going. I buy at least a pair of 2 of glasses a year; constantly dropping, losing, or children breaking!! Well, I'm headed on vacation and I lost my sunglasses just in time! I was dreading walking in to get a replacement pair... I went In and there was a NEW manager!! That's Frank! After a bad experience I wanted to wait a few weeks to post this because of utter distain for this location. Rude staff, long waits, limited selection of frames. I was in their store several weeks ago with a new prescription and purchased two pairs of glasses and was going to buy a third pair to use with my computer. I was told my glasses were a special order. A week later, on a busy day for me, I got a call stating my glasses were ready. I specifically inquired if both pairs were in and was told yes. I drove all the way over there, a 45 minute drive from my location, and sure enough a worthless representative with a chip on her shoulder suggested I never asked and only one pair was in. She never uttered any of the magic words such as "We're sorry", "Pleaae accept our apologies." Instead it was no smile and crappy attitude. So I cancelled my entire order, got a full refund, they lost a customer and sales of over $1400 in glasses, and I cannot say enough bad things about them. I sent a complaint in writing to corporate and never got a reply. So I went to another optical store, paid more, got better frames and friendly service. No one should tolerate the attitudes of the people working there and I'm surprised they maintain their business. Consider my one star a zero! read more
