I've had 2 bad experiences with the front retail staff. It makes me sad to say this because the…read moredoctor was amazing (Andrea Mazur). The front of house staff is horrible. Bad attitudes, rushing customers out of the door. One of the members of staff kept reminding everyone that she wanted to leave on time. Basically saying I was taking tooo long. Absolutely ridiculous! Second interaction, my husband went in to get his glasses and when he tried them on they were not correctly done. He stated that they weren't correct. Then the gentleman at the front ( he was Caucasian with a piercing in his nose) was EXTREMELY rude and not listening to him AT ALL. This staff member was trying to force my husband to see another doctor. When my husband specifically said that the proscription was fine. It was the glasses that were made wrong. This staff member didn't care, he was condescending and over-talking. Then the staff member wanted to process a refund after my husband said he would be fine with them remaking the glasses. Staff member said no they can't do that. Unfortunately, my husband left the store without glasses and was forced into a refund. Hmmm this is interesting considering what you state on your website: VisionWorks 100-DAY GUARANTEE CHANGED YOUR MIND? CHANGE YOUR GLASSES Also how you state: Visionworks Doctors of Optometry in Mays Landing, NJ offers eye care for the whole family; exams, glasses, & contacts. Committed to quality & customer satisfaction. Doesn't seem as if any of this was acknowledged nor the policies were followed during these situations. Seems like you need to hire people who actually CARE about your customers and represent your place of business well. Eye care is important and to be taken lightly.

They remember you (Ok, so we might be in their computers but Leslie laughed as she helped me pick my glasses saying she did the same thing 8 years ago.). Since they are one outlet in a national chain you might think that they'd not have the best in technology but they do! One of the benefits of this outstanding eye care facility being part of a national chain are the sales they offer, the insurance they accept, and the many frame options to choose from! Every single staff member was friendly and willing to answer any and every question that I had. The eye examination process took less time than I had expected (I made the reservation online and was taken when I arrived.). As noted above, I have always needed help in choosing the right frames when shopping for glasses. Leslie saw me struggling and rushed to my side giving her opinion of various frames until I found the two I liked the most. I don't know if all Visionworks locations are as customer-focused as this one but every family member who goes here leaves absolutely satisfied!

This review is for the Ocean City office…read more The office is open at 8am, despite the 9am listing on Yelp and Quality Eye Center website. 1. Last minute (semi-urgent) appointment for ongoing eye issue no problem (granted this is early post-season) 2. Staff was very friendly and helpful (if not a bit overwhelmed) 3. Dr Miller was fantastic. Friendly and assertive - **and very patient** - walked through every step and even pulled up images to show what he was seeing His prognosis was astute and thoughtful, and prescription clear and thorough. (clearly someone who has "seen" it all) Although the medication was the same, the course of treatment was slightly different and (IMHO) more considered toward a solution. At any rate, Dr. Miller and team will be my eye specialists going forward...

I was previously a patient of this optometrist in 2017. My first visit with them was uneventful and…read morewent ok, aside from the old lady receptionist who had an attitude. It was easy enough to ignore her the first time. My second experience with them is a completely different story. I was treated like garbage and I was hung up on twice. I returned in 2018 to renew my prescription and glasses. Upon making an appointment, this optometrist claimed authorization over my insurance before I even had a visit with them. They are not allowed to claim authorization over your insurance until you actually visit them, have an eye exam, and place an order for glasses. Do you see where this is going? Here's what happened... Work obligations forced me to reschedule my appointment. I told them I'd have to call back to reschedule a new appointment when I get my upcoming work schedule. The receptionist (same lady as last year with an attitude) dropped the ball and never canceled the appointment. ....In the meantime I found a different optometrist whose hours and location were better able to accommodate me. As a consumer I have a right to choose whichever business is better able to accommodate me. So while I was visiting the new optometrist is when I learned the hard way that Opti-Rx took a short cut and claimed authorization over my insurance without ever rendering me any services or even seeing me. How embarrassing it was to have my new optometrist tell me they couldn't move forward with my exam and my glasses because the previous optometrist I visited had my insurance on hold even though I hadn't even seen them. So I call Opti-Rx to have them release my insurance. These jackwipes actually gave me an attitude because I chose a different optometrist. When I asked them to release authorization over my insurance the receptionist said, "I'll see what I can do" I said, "Excuse me? You WILL release my authorization, right? I'm standing here at the new optometrist waiting for it to be released." She said, "Whenever I can get into the system." and she hung up on me. I called back and spoke with Dr. Berger himself. He proceeded to argue with me that because I made an appointment with them so they were justified in holding authorization over my insurance. I said, "We never settled on an appointment. Your receptionist dropped the ball and failed to update the computer when I called to reschedule. You shouldn't be meddling with my insurance." He washed his hands and said, "I'm gonna hand you back to the receptionist to deal with this." He hands me back to the receptionist and she says, "I already dealt with the authorization. It's done." I was in the middle of saying "Alright, thank you" and she hung up on me again. Moral of the story: This company uses shady practices. They have a tendency for taking shortcuts, and their customer interaction with me was incredibly rude. I can not, and will not recommend this optometrist to others.

Either way, you know what I'mma saying. First, a disclaimer... the awesome pair that I currently own are the "Ever Popular M-Frame Oakley's." I haven't owned them very long, just since the Summer of 1997, so no, they didn't need to be replaced. But my wife has not let up on me getting a new pair! So, as every good hubby does, he gives in and gets a new pair. My temper tantrums weren't working anymore and I was pretty much given an ultimatum, "It's either the Oakley's or me!!" So, after much thought, kinda like the lady does in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" when her husband is kidnapped, and it's either "Your husband or your case of Wonka Bars...!" I decided to get a new pair. My brother in law showed my wife a pair of Maui Jim's and I do have to say, I "Rocked them like a Hurricane!!" My wife was also a big fan of them. So, after trying on a few dozen of them, I decided on the Maui Jim's Ho'Okipa style. They were priced right and we even got my wife a new pair of Ray Bans for $40 off. So, after 45 mins of decisions, we both walked out with a brand-spankin' new pair of shades and a few Benjamin's lighter in the wallet. Very courteous customer service was provided and at no time were we feeling rushed or hurried to purchase anything. Thank you Des Lunettes de Soleil Hut!

I was even able to examine the basics of my records to see the progression of my change in vision. You need to let them know your usage: driving, TV, computer, smartphone or reading. I have also been pleased with the customer service as it relates to scheduling appointments, making payments, using insurance. There are a variety of frames to choose from, some I don't like and others have been perfect. I learned that when choosing frames consider your activity level, so you don't get glasses that are too fragile. Some parts are easily replaced, more fragile frames may require purchasing a whole frame. I have tried contacts, but they are not for me. The process was fairly easy at the time. If you choose contacts, consider your home or work environment. If you are exposed to lots of dust, pollen or smoke - forget about getting contacts. Every time I have been to Eye Openers, I have had a pleasant, professional experience.
