I've had 2 bad experiences with the front retail staff. It makes me sad to say this because the doctor was amazing (Andrea Mazur). The front of house staff is horrible. Bad attitudes, rushing customers out of the door. One of the members of staff kept reminding everyone that she wanted to leave on time. Basically saying I was taking tooo long. Absolutely ridiculous! Second interaction, my husband went in to get his glasses and when he tried them on they were not correctly done. He stated that they weren't correct. Then the gentleman at the front ( he was Caucasian with a piercing in his nose) was EXTREMELY rude and not listening to him AT ALL. This staff member was trying to force my husband to see another doctor. When my husband specifically said that the proscription was fine. It was the glasses that were made wrong. This staff member didn't care, he was condescending and over-talking. Then the staff member wanted to process a refund after my husband said he would be fine with them remaking the glasses. Staff member said no they can't do that. Unfortunately, my husband left the store without glasses and was forced into a refund. Hmmm this is interesting considering what you state on your website: VisionWorks 100-DAY GUARANTEE CHANGED YOUR MIND? CHANGE YOUR GLASSES Also how you state: Visionworks Doctors of Optometry in Mays Landing, NJ offers eye care for the whole family; exams, glasses, & contacts. Committed to quality & customer satisfaction. Doesn't seem as if any of this was acknowledged nor the policies were followed during these situations. Seems like you need to hire people who actually CARE about your customers and represent your place of business well. Eye care is important and to be taken lightly. read more

There is a reason that my entire family sees Visionworks as our only option for eye care!! They are THE BEST!!! They remember you (Ok, so we might be in their computers but Leslie laughed as she helped me pick my glasses saying she did the same thing 8 years ago.). Since they are one outlet in a national chain you might think that they'd not have the best in technology but they do! One of the benefits of this outstanding eye care facility being part of a national chain are the sales they offer, the insurance they accept, and the many frame options to choose from! Every single staff member was friendly and willing to answer any and every question that I had. The eye examination process took less time than I had expected (I made the reservation online and was taken when I arrived.). As noted above, I have always needed help in choosing the right frames when shopping for glasses. Leslie saw me struggling and rushed to my side giving her opinion of various frames until I found the two I liked the most. I don't know if all Visionworks locations are as customer-focused as this one but every family member who goes here leaves absolutely satisfied! read more

I would give 5 stars only because there was an issue with my insurance. After about 10 minutes, it was resolved. Please review insurance before patient comes in- then confirm it a second time via phone call. Shannon did my pre-tests and she was wonderful. Very pleasant and friendly. Dr. Vo was also very pleasant and thorough. He also took time to explain things to me. This is my new go to place for my glasses!!! read more

I'm on vacation and thought I got a little sand stuck in my one eye. It was irritated ever since I left the beach yesterday and most especially when I woke up this morning. We called this morning and they were able to fit me in for a 3pm same day appointment to see the Optometrist. A warm welcome and a short wait later, I was able to see the doctor who got an unruly eyelash that was deep under my left eyelid out and I instantly felt better. He gave me some eye drops to keep things comfortable. Within 15 minutes the gritty irritation that caused me so much pain left me. Having bad eyesight and being hundreds of miles away from home, I'm relieved to say there was no further damage or scratches to my eye. I'm beyond grateful for the friendly, quick service provided to me. Thank you for all that you do so our vacation can continue in a positive direction! read more

Last year because my optometrist abruptly shuttered their practice I had to quickly find another doctor. When I saw the doctor, at Visionworks, took my insurance I made an appointment and went. This year my old dr. reached out so I went to Horizon Eye Care. I just wanted to say that this dr found problems with my eyes and my husband's that have been there for a while. Please b aware that as far as going for an eye exam, please go to someone who will do a thorough exam. It was discovered that my husband had glaucoma, which should have been caught and an old problem of mine had resurfaced and I was legally blind to drive. I've had surgery twice and my husband may have to also. Please, please, please, great for cheap eyeglasses but go somewhere else for an exam. I have VSP and would recommend Horizon Eye Care, which have multiple locations and did my surgery. It takes awhile to get an appointment but worth the wait. read more

Went to the Millville NJ location and had to wait over an hour to get processed by sales reps who had a hard time looking up and verifying my optical plan which pays them directly with no out-of-pocket costs to myself and family members. They sell cheap designer frames that always seem to cost extra for lenses and frames. They are SALES oriented. The lenses are made of cheap materials and make peripheral vision difficult. This can be corrected with their up-scale lenses that exceed benefit plan. Fortunate for me and my family the union I'm a member no longer does business with VisionWorks. Went back to BJ's where lenses and frames are much more economical and affordable with great sales personnel. Upgraded lenses for periphery vision are within union guidelines. Forget this place they suck! read more

So far I am far from impressed, our appointments were for 1045 and 1105. we were 15 minutes early for our paperwork. We waited 45 for the first appointment. No really high end frames. I'll go back the people were kind and the optometrist agreed 15 minutes is not enough for an appointment. read more

Due to the "short staff" the staff at vision works won't even consider answering phones. Waited months for my contacts to come in. They didn't call me to inform me of my contacts arriving in store, I had to drive there to get answers. Come to find out, my contacts we're sitting in store the whole time and they actually ordered the wrong prescription. Now I have to drive back to see if someone can help me. Poor service! read more

I had one of the best customer service experiences I've ever gotten at America's best Mays Landing. Their Covid procedures are very thorough so I felt safe there from the beginning. Both the employee who I did the intake and the doctor were friendly. The exam was speedy but comprehensive. I am tempted to give this place 1 star, but the whole staff from the doctor to the sales reps are so consistently nice and pleasant, I have to give them props for that. HOWEVER... They just lost a $500/year customer. This past year I sucked it up and kept my old glasses so that I could get a pair of prescription sunglasses. (What? I use them daily!!) Anyway, I bought an expensive pair because I knew I wanted them to last as I won't be buying them again anytime soon. Well, after a few months of wear, the pin came out of one arm of the frames. I thought, "no biggie-- visionworks will fix them for me." Nope. All they would do is put what amounts to a "very temporary fix" (their words) on them since they don't carry the size pin needed to fix them properly. I even offered to buy the pin if they could order it for me, and I was told that "isn't the way they do it here." Well, guess what else you don't do here? That's right-- get my money. Lack of communication. Friendly staff. However. I came from a none friendly and lack of communication eye glass company. And here I am facing the same issue. I was told I was gonna receive a call as soon my frames come in. I called two days later the date given I was gonna get the call. To be told it has been in there. Not only I was treated very dry over the phone. I was lied to from the sales supervisor when I actually went to pick the frames up. Telling me they actually had just finished processing them. When in reality they were there for 2 days. 1st impression is very important. Yes things happen and mistakes do happen. In this field is the best way to handle is to apologies and make the situation better. Not by lying and when told it was a lie the worst you can do is to finish transaction it's silence. Love this place! We had excellent service. They are very helpful. It was a quick and easy process. My husband and I went to together last week for our exam. Viral, Wendy and Christine were so pleasant and accommodating as we picked out glasses. It was a great experience! Had a very recent unpleasant experience at this location. I came into the store after a long day of work to be ignored by the woman in the front who was on the phone and staring at the computer screen - did not look up once to acknowledge someone standing there. This went on for about 20 minutes. After I was finally greeted, I explained I was there to pick up my daughters glasses (which I was told in advance were problematic). I was never given an explanation as to why the frames (which she received assistance in choosing) would not work for her lenses. They simply said that she would have to come in and try on another pair. I explained this would not be possible as she is now out of state back at her college campus. She tried to "turf" me off to another staff member- who said "I can't help her, she will just have to come back". Keep in mind that I was already there for 1 hour and again, was ignored by a staff member as I was within 3 feet of her while she addressed me as "her"! The issue was never resolved. The staff at this location need customer service training if they are going to continue working with the public. I and my family who wear corrective visual lenses need to find another place to go where the staff respect their customers time. read more

Very pleased wit the Dr who did my eye exam and the reps who handled my fitting and all. The problem was the glasses were so far off with them being progressive lenses that I took them back a couple days later . The manger checked my glasses and decided tat e ad to reorder them all over. The first pair took almost 2 weeks to come in. The ones he reordered took only a week to come in. Now here is the problem all the marks that had been put on the original pair were still on the supposed new ones . I tried them on and there was absolutely no difference from the first set of glasses. Makes me wonder if they tried to pull a fast one on me. I was offered a refund which I immediately took. When your spending that kind of money you want it right. Maybe I was just an unlucky one but I definitely won't be going back and will not recommend them . read more

I should have believed the negative reviews on Google, Yelp & Facebook about the "Managers" poor attitude. When I tried to tell him the right lens had a blemish/scratch, and the left lens was not providing any eyesight correction, he was dismissive, condescending and rude to me in front of other customers. Like I was going to deal with him again when I went back?? No, and I dont suggest others spend their money or time there to get treated so poorly. You clipped me for the $39 eye exam, that has no value to me since the glasses went back. What a change from 5 years ago, you had a good customer that's now out $39 and will never return. read more
