Really nice staff the doc was nice and explained exactly why she was recommending the changes she did for my prescription. The office is well laid out and they were good at getting me as many discounts they could on my glasses and frames. Will definitely use them again and recommend them. Went here for contacts in the beginning of 2021. Unfortunately I had a bad experience here and I am extremely disappointed. It was my first time there. The doctor seemed to be on edge or not having a good day. She took my glasses to look at and then I was put in the exam room. We started talking about how I really wanted to be able to wear contacts again. (I had lasik surgery in 2005 and then I slowly had regression and have to wear glasses all the time again). She told me that it will probably be difficult for me to wear contacts because my corneas were so thin from the lasik. After telling her more about my experiences and requesting multi-focal lenses, she says to me, " you don't have bifocals". I said to her, "yes I do, I wear bifocals" she was frustrated with me and acting like I didn't know what I was talking about. i'm thinking to myself, these are my eyes and my glasses and I know I wear bifocals. She grabbed my glasses again and held them up to the lights in the ceiling and says "oh you do wear bifocals, but they're such a low prescription". I was dumbfounded. You're the professional, you looked at my glasses prior to me going into the exam room. After the exam and much discussion, I was told that there is only 1 contact in the entire world that I could wear and it is not multi focal. I was so discouraged. She gave me a trial set and I was scheduled to come back a week later. We talked about dry eyes with allergies and I was given a coupon to by special eye drops which I find out later when I went to go get them, they were $26. And the bottle is the size of my thumb. The contacts were awful. They just slid all over my eye. There were times when I could wear them for a bit and then not. I was so discouraged even more. I go back for my follow up and after telling the doctor how they felt, I was told "oh well" thats all that's out there for you. You either want to wear contacts or just stick with your glasses. I want sure what to do. The contact were somewhat bearable. I thought well I could just wear them when I needed to for a few hours at a time. Then stupid me let them talk me into buying these particular contact lenses and I spent too much $ for a year supply. I was so aggravated. I got the contacts came home and wore them probably 4-5 times and now they are just sitting under my bathroom sink. I have 10 boxes. Months go by and I'm looking online for any alternatives. I decided to try again and go to another eye place. The same day I had my appointment at Family Eye associates, I came home with multifocal contacts that felt great. They didn't slide all over my eye and I don't have to wear reading glasses. Just one visit! And I was told that the contacts I have that fit great have been around a few years. So I don't understand what the issue was at this place. Lack of knowledge of what is out there to provide someone with my eye issues. I don't know, after spending/wasting over $300 (with insurance) and my time, I can't recommend this place for anyone who is like me and needs good care. Stuck with over $200 worth of contacts that I'll never wear. read more

I'm so glad I did The office is very clean, very nice atmosphere and staff was so pleasant and informative. Dr. Nocella is very professional and explained everything to me. My husband and I have been seeing Dr, Dawn Nocella for quite a few years - first at her previous place of employment and now, at her own business, Town Vision. Dr. Nocella is the best! She is very capable and extremely sweet. I can't begin to fathom why she received the one bad review listed here. The comments in that review are not even close to the way Dr. Nocella conducts business or how she treats her patients. She asks our opinions continuously about lens changes throughout our exams. She even detected an irregularity with my husbands retina several years ago and quickly referred him to a specialist. We are both extremely pleased with her thorough, competent service. read more

I went to Town Vision for eye exam glasses and contacts. Dr. Nocella is very friendly personable and knowledgable. I went there complaining about the lenses I used to wear and she examined me and fit me with a new brand of contacts and I haven't seem this good in a long time. I've been on Yelp for several years, and I believe this is my very first bad yelp review. I had an awful experience with Dawn Nocella, O.D. She changed my prescription for the worst. She didn't even ask if I wanted my prescription changed or if I was happy with my current prescription (which I very much was). And of course when I received my new glasses, they were WAY too strong, and I got a headache after a minute of wearing them. When I called her office and nicely explained that the prescription was off and if there was any way I could get a refund, she was defensive and blamed the company that I bought the eye glasses from- even though the problem was clearly that she had changed my prescription. She also said that she hadn't changed it by "that much." She didn't even fucking apologize for the inconvenience. WRONG ANSWER. I REFUSE to ever go back to her. Now I have totally wasted $75 on the eye exam and need to find a real eye doctor to get a new one. THE WORST. read more
