The eye exam itself is great! The doctor's are very nice and very knowledgeable. The one complaint I have is no one answers the phone and the recording says someone will call you back within 2 business days. First of all that is poor customer service to have to wait 2 days. Dr. did a mistake on my exam. cost me money and time, finally find out exam was wrong, I ask for recheck. but they ask money to do new exams. Dr. never return my call and manager of this location ( kevin ) keep ask me more money for recheck which was they mistake. This time I went for myself . Denial is real , I never needed glasses before and here you have it. I'm getting glasses They have a variety of choices. I'm easy , I saw a pair I liked at first sight, no pun intended. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to choose a frame. Let me take a moment to express how nice the staff was. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with smiles and directed to the check in counter . The manager at the desk informed me that I can use my Triple A motor club membership to receive a discount on my frames and the lenses too. I was elated ! The optometrist assistant performed the first part of my exam . She was so sweet and patient with my nervous butt. LOL Next, she walked me back to see the doctor. The doctor was so professional, thorough and friendly. She explained my results in the screen and explained everything very well to me. Afterwards I was fitted for glasses. I hate I can't remember names but she took my measurements. She was complimentary, friendly and spoke in a calming voice. She was patient with me, which I loved. The place where I went to previously had a short fuse with me. I would recommend anyone to go here . The glasses aren't cheap , but anything in the field of medicine isn't . Keep in mind it's a business. Sure they ask about lens cleaners , scratch resistant lenses.. ect. Just leave satisfied sad if you don't want something, just say no. Easy peasy. The optometrist was amazing and kind. Really liked her. When I was actually being helped, the other workers were great. I came on 2 separate occasions to pick up my contacts, then glasses (both of which were already paid for--literally just picking them up) and both times it took a while for anyone to even acknowledge my existence. First time I sat at least 15 minutes, the second time I was directed to the back counter and just sat there being walked past. I definitely understand being busy, and there's only so many workers. But an acknowledgment that they know I'm there would be awesome. Plus, they're friggin' expensive here. I'd rather go to a cheaper place and be ignored lol. read more

I do not know anything about the drs there, just the sales staff. First when I arrived I wasn't acknowledged until after I stood around for 10 minutes. The male clerk was helping a lady and finally asked what I needed. I replied someone to help me with my glasses. He flagged down someone to help me from the back. There were other people also standing around for help. A lady came to help me. She was very nice and asked how she could help me? I asked her to take my glasses and check them against my rx that the glasses were made from. She did and indicated the glasses weren't the same as the written rx. She said she wanted to have the man who was still talking to the same lady when I came in to double check the glasses. After another 30 minutes of waiting, the man was still talking to the lady so I asked another clerk if she could check them. She did and said the rx was the same as the rx they used to originally make the glasses. I explained to her that my eye doctor (at Emory) told me they were not the prescription she had written, and that her co-worker also stated they were not correct. The lady said the co-worker did not read them correctly. So she said, I don't know what to tell you as they are correct. She asked me what do you want me to do? I said make them correct or refund my money. After 20 minutes of back & forth, she said there's nothing I can do and my manager isn't here. Her attitude was your problem not mine. I wanted to share this so you can make sure your glasses are the same as the prescription your dr gave you when using this business. If you're looking for a business who cares about their customers, I definitely would not recommend this business. Customer service is not what they offer. read more

In late August, I took my newly obtained prescription to LensCrafters on Dallas Highway, Marietta. Their policy is that you have 30 days to wear and use your glasses, and if you are dissatisfied in any way, they will make it right. I ordered a pair of glasses, and I was certain I wanted the "transition" type lenses that change color in the sunlight, thinking to get the darkest color I could get to make them real prescription sunglasses. Overnight, I had a change of heart and called early the next morning and asked them to cancel that part of my order entirely, no transition lenses. They were very nice about it, and the order had not gone through yet, so it was no problem for them to change it. The new glasses came in about a week later, but as luck would have it, they were the wrong fit for me, because the "reader" part of the Progressive lenses was too low for me to use because of the frame's bridge. (I have worn glasses for over 50 years and never knew glasses even HAD a bridge size. Who knew?!) They tried to adjust the glasses so I could wear them without having to look down my nose, but it didn't work to my satisfaction, so I ended up having to order an entirely new pair, under the expert guidance of Skip, who told me the size bridge I would need to fit me properly, and which glasses had that size, steering me away from those that did not. Meanwhile, they were kind enough to let me use that pair to limp along with until the new ones came in. When the new new ones came in, there was a problem with them, and they had to send them back again. They came back just fine that time. In all this time, Alicia, Skip, Kevin, Barbara and Monica could not have been nicer to me. They each and every one bent over backwards to make sure I got what I both wanted and needed, and never one time did any of them treat me like, "Oh, it's you again!" The entire process involved two separate refunds (one for the transition lenses, one for the second pair, which was less expensive than the first pair.), and not once did they ever complain. They knocked themselves out to give me customer satisfaction, and this place is the model of what customer service should look like. Thanks, y'all! read more

Just encountered one of the most rude employees that I have dealt with in many years. Stephanie is her name, or at least that's the name she gave me. When I asked if my $800 sunglasses that I bought from this very store could be repaired, she quickly dismissed me and said no. "The arm broke and the screw is still in it, she replied." After I pointed out that these arms do not utilize screws, and asked if she could at least see if the arm could be popped back in. She rolled her eyes...clearly annoyed and said reluctantly said "I can try, but it won't work". I left the store. My wife took the glasses back and a technician fixed them. Stephanie dear, your customer service skills SUCK, and you are having a very negative impact on this stores' business. No doubt the store is losing business because of employees such as you. Extremely expensive. The sales associate did a good job of fitting my glasses but the prices are over the top. I felt like I was being pushed into considering the more expensive add-ons which, it appears now, the insurance doesn't cover. I don't think they applied my insurance properly. I know they have to make money but I feel they made it ALL off me! I have used LensCrafters for over 30 years but I will not use them again. read more

I wish I could give only the Dr 5 stars, but unfortunately I have to review the store which was no stars. I brought both my children to this location of LensCrafters because I'd had a good experience buying my own glasses the year before. The eye exam went smoothly: Dr. Holcombe is very knowledgeable and makes sure you understand your examination. The retail however is a mess. The associate told us on Friday that she could have the glasses ready in 15 minutes but they had to run my insurance. Over the course of the weekend, they kept trying to run the vision plan in their system. Then by Monday when I called back about the glasses, suddenly my insurance is out of network (and by the way) I can't remember those frames because we didn't take pictures( they did) and we don't have that prescription like I said I did on Friday. Also it was your fault for trying to run your vision plan. Well thank you, and we'll take the prescription elsewhere. So buyer beware: pleasant eye exam, but unless you find great frames that you can't find anywhere else, I wouldn't deal with retail side. read more

Quite possibly one of the worst customer service experiences I've had...Got out of my eye appt in the back ready to get some updated glasses and/or prescriptions. Waited 30 mins, watching myself get passed over twice by people who walked in the door and past me. Someone finally started a list with two more people ahead of me, and I had to stand up and wave my arms just to get the guy to realize I had been waiting. Finally they send over someone, and she comes over with an iPad. She gets my personal info. I had brought in a pair of glasses I got there just about 2yrs earlier and she didn't even look up to see if they had them. Then she proceeded just to turn and burn me with the same lenses as my glasses from two years ago, without even talking about my insurance or options. She just enters info and shows me a price. I ask about insurance and she tells me the glasses I'm currently wearing cost me $613. I look at the receipt she's talking about and it's 2x pairs of glasses (one is sunglasses) 2x lens's charges, and 2x protection plans. But... she sat there and just adamantly told me I paid that for the one pair of glasses on my face. Further, when I called her out on it she says "well these receipts are hard to read with everything on them." Even further, the receipt was not even accurate whereas I bought the sunglass frames and received the lenses free per a promotion. The whole situation was ludicrous and pretty surreal. I finally just said enough and left without anything. After spending literally over $6000 in that store over the last 4 years with a family of four with glasses, it was truly a bad experience. read more

Very disappointed.. I have been using this location for myself and my family for several years. I wear disposable contacts, and accidentally ran out. My last eye appt with this office was about three months ago. When I called to purchase more contacts I was told they do not stock contacts, and that it would take 10-14 days to order. They would not give me a trial pair to use while waiting for my order, even after I explained I would be unable to see until my order came in. They did had trials in my prescription available, but I was told I was given a trial as part of my contact fitting when I had my exam a few months ago, and was not eligible for another trial pair, even though I was placing a new order. I cannot see to work or drive without my contacts or glasses, I am virtually blind without my contacts. They did not care. I decided to take my business elsewhere. Obviously Dr Holcomb's office and this LensCrafter location are more interested in dollars than in their patient's sight. I found another optometrist in the area today to help me. Myself and my family will NEVER go back to Dr Holcomb or Lenscrafters. read more

CHECK all the fees before you pay! I recently went in for an eye exam for glasses. Before going in I made an appointment online, which was very easy and convenient. The very next day I was seen by Dr.Patel. She was very professional and answered all questions that I had. Because I was a self paying patient, my exam without the extras was $65. After I had gotten my prescription I went on selecting my frame of choice. The ladies there were very helpful. I knew I would be out of pocket more for the lens, but upon check out the lady did not provide me the breakdown of how my bill until I had paid and received my receipt. So, surprisingly I ended paying about $350 for a complete pair of glasses since I went with designer frames($180) WITH what they said 40% off already deducted with their 1yr protection plan ($34.99, in which I was not asked about but I guess it's worth it since it covers any broken or repairs within a year). That would have been a total of $785 if not for their "40% off deal". The lens itself was ridiculously $330!! I was given an hour to come back or wait to pick up my new glasses, so I decided to come back. Glasses was finished on time. Anyhow, it's a ill bit more expensive then the discounted places (America's Best, DoctorsVisions), but other then going back to get my glasses re-adjusted since it was bent unevenly, I would highly recommend this store. read more

LensCrafters has 3 characteristics: they are enormously expensive, they are arrogant, and they are dog slow. Other than that, they are fine. I just waited 6 weeks for what they said would take 7-10 days. The glasses were OK ... only OK. And, of course, they cost a ton. When I was notified the glasses had finally come in, and I went to pick them up, they said they weren't in. Later called to admit error. Given their arrogance, admitting error must have been tough. read more

They didn't have the glasses i wanted but he was so helpful and courteous that I'm going back there for my sons new glasses just because he was so great that he really earned my future business. He even referred me to another store that had the glasses i wanted instead of trying to convince me to buy what i didn't want. Its refreshing to see such service and integrity. They were very nice and helpful the first time my husband and I went in there. Once they got our business, they've screwed up my progressive lens glasses, had to be refit for the correct prescription and wait again two weeks for my glasses. Both my husband and I ordered contact lenses from them and received the incorrect lenses for so had to take a trip in to bring in the incorrect contact lenses to have new ones re-ordered. Too time consuming from our busy lives to have to re do what should have been done correctly the first time. Will not be going back here. PN read more

Just moved to Marietta and went to lens crafters because it was in my network and close to home. Dr. Macharaga performed both my exam and my wife's it took 3 sets of lenses for them to determine that my wife had an incorrect prescription. I'm now trying to reorder my contacts online and just noticed my eyes are getting better since my last exam from my previous Doctor in MD. Now the online contacts company won't give me the lenses I need because I also have a bad prescription. read more

The staff is very friendly, as you would expect. The manager kept getting sidetracked so her sign off on the order actually took a half hour to happen. The real shock came at the end of the transaction when I was informed it would take a week for my glasses. I'm from CA and have used LC's, "Glasses within an hour" since I started wearing glasses. I was given the corporate line for the change. They are now like any other eyewear provider. I'm sure that the overall personal experience would be better anywhere else now that the "glasses within an hour" has been done away with. A very bad corporate decision. I'm sure some VP got a nice bonus for that decision!! "Less for more" should be their new motto. So much for revolutionizing the eyewear business. read more

Simple eyeglass prescription took over 3 weeks to complete. My family ordered 3 pairs of glasses at Lens Crafters several weeks ago. In addition to our vision insurance a check was written for an substantial amount that day. My son and husbands' glasses took over 2 weeks to complete. I called and wrote to the company about the extended length of time for my glasses and not once did anyone from Lens Crafters Dallas Hwy contact me. Very disappointed in this location. I have used Lens Crafters other locations without issues. Guess it will be Target Optical for me from now own. Other companies I have used in the past took 3 days as opposed Lens Crafter 3 weeks to complete. The optometrists was wonderful. Her exam was very professional and extensive. I would have no problem with visiting the optometrist there and taking my prescription to another location to be filled; however, that makes the convenience of a one stop shop go away. read more

Terrible customer service here!!! Avoid at all cost! After ordering my glasses here I was promised I would have them in 12 days. The ordering was a pleasant experience. On the twelfth day I called to check on them and the lady I spoke to said they will be about 12 additional days late but could not tell me why. I asked to speak to the manager (Debra) and she said the manager is with a customer and I will have her call you back. That was fine with me, no problem (so I thought). No call was received that day. I called the next two days with the same lame reply, she will call you back. On the fourth day I was able to speak to Debra and she said the frames are on back order. I asked to have transition shade added to my lenses and after a few smart aleck remarks she said that she would check on it and call me back (then she laughed) and I did not receive that call back. I called few times again and was told that same lame reply, she would call you back. She did not return my calls. After 23 days I called to check on the status of my glasses. The lady said yes and I was just about to call you with a laugh. Right! I am not sure how they stay in business but I will definitely not be doing any future business there. I will pass this along to my friends, family and co-workers to save them some grief. I hope this is helpful to you as to avoid the run around and hassle of poor customer service that I experienced here. I am being very generous by giving them one star.
