This place is awful appointment was at four and the doctor couldn't see me till 4:45. The insurance also said the eye exam was covered but they have a new machine that's in the fine print they will charge you $80. Definitely Find a better place in the area. read more

Went in for my eye exam for glasses and contacts and that went well however they gave me examples of expired daily disposable contacts. When I questioned this I was told the manufacturer expiration date is just for the manufacturer not the consumer. I didn't care for that response as a paying coustmer. read more

Why go anywhere else for an eye-exam or glasses? I was treated to the highest quality care yesterday by both Dr. Shephard the Optometrist and one of her assistants Laura. They had excellent equipment--some of which I don't remember every having been used for an exam before, which gave the Dr. amazing views of every part of my eyes, and I believe the functional ability of each part of my eye. She (Dr. Shephard) was very thorough while testing my eyes and carefully analyzing all of the "photos" Laura was able to capture, and even asked near the end of our appointment if I had any other questions or anything she hadn't covered sufficiently. When I had a little trouble positioning my body with some of the analyzing devices that captured wonderful pictures of the inside of my eyes in a way that resulted in best quality images for Dr. Shephard, Laura encouraged me by patiently coaching me and offering tips and suggestions. I'm in my 70's and after being quarantined for so long (Covid precautions) my brain is not functioning anywhere near capacity. I've had eye surgery twice, including a retina re-attachment a few years ago. Laura has a delightful (cheer-leading) and warm personality, we even had a few laughs while chatting briefly, putting me completely at ease and ready to see my new optometrist. Although this shop sells a wide variety of all types and styles of frames--Dr. Shephard assured me that there was no need for me to replace my current prescription unless I just wanted a new pair to replace the ones I've had for 3 years. Awesome customer service, highest quality care, honesty and integrity--unless something significant changes I'll never go anywhere else. read more

The optometrist office at this location will not offer You services covered by your insurance if you aren't careful. They will instead act as if your only option is imaging not covered by insurance that you have to pay extra for. If you choose to decline imaging and get ready to leave only then will they offer dilation which is 100% covered. If you decline dilation they will not see you as a patient. Dilation was not an option as I had to drive. This office is interested in cash and not helping people. read more

Avoid. The doctor requires a credit card over the phone to make an appointment- despite having verifiable insurance that covers my exam in full. They also do not tell you this until they get all the way through the process and you have already given them all your information. I don't need one more business keeping a card on file for surprise charges later - BEWARE! read more

I ran in, hoping I could get something figured out with my contacts before an upcoming trip (the very next day) due to mine being misplace and not only did she HELP ME BEYOND MEASURE, she was severrrrely kind. The team ( Leo, Cristoph, Alba, Maria, Steven, Alex, Mario) are seamless. There is no weak link here. You will get fantastic service at any time (even when they are very busy). It's a very well tuned engine let me tell you! I walk in and immediately feel welcomed by the layout of the store. The selection of frames blew me away. They are across the street in Belmar. Got my first sight there. Discuss the omnigrab each time. A thing from a movie called " The Jerk" with Steve Martin. Left lens fell out and wouldn't stay minutes ago. Went there basically asking for help in my slippers. I couldn't have been more welcomed! A nice greeting from staff and they were more than willing to help. A nice person took my glasses and lens and went to work right away on a late Saturday night. Doesn't seem like much, but in the situation where you can't see, it was huge. Thanks to LC for randomly helping me in a difficult situation! This shows why you've sustained in Belmar. read more

I'm giving Lenscrafters 2 stars only be cause the little girl that helped me was nice. However her knowledge on how to adjust glasses sucks. I had to go to another eyeglass place to get them adjusted correctly. As for the quality of their products is poor at best. The Good: awesome optometrist on staff who really knows his stuff and is willing to take the time to explain it to a wide-eyed rookie such as myself. The Bad: despite the fact that this is a national chain, they only carry high-end designer brands... and the prices reflect that. I couldn't find a single pair of non-granny, non-geeked-out-exchange-student, or non-child-molester-esque badass funky frames for less than $160. Not cool. On the other hand, if I wanted to cruise out of there looking like Kip from "Napoleon Dynamite," I could've done so for the lowlowprice of $49.99. Unfortunately that's just not how I roll. The Verdict: the glasses I DID shell out for are way cool... but they were the only ones I liked in the whole entire place. If you want funky-cool boho indie specs, this may not be your place. But... if you like bling on your temples, they've got an entire section devoted to such! So, thumbs UP for the on-staff optometrist I saw (Dr. O-something-or-other), but thumbs DOWN for the selection and prices. You make the call. read more

I went for eye exam and the doctor said my eyes were too dry to get the contact prescription. I was put on eye drops and came back again in a month to get contact fitting. However, during my second visit, my eyes were still dry. I didn't get the contact prescription but instead a $105 medical visit for a 10mins conversation and a comeback in 2 weeks. The doctors are nice but I wished I would have known earlier if I have to pay the price and still no contact prescription. read more

I'm surprised to see the so-so reviews. My daughter went to a pediatric eye specialist and got her prescription but they couldn't get the glasses for two weeks. We decided to get a second pair right away from lenscrafters and they filled and fitted her within two hours. The selection wasn't great but the customer service and experience both were. read more

I have used the sales side of this store a couple of times so my review does not include the optometrist side. Plenty of choices here including Oakley & Ray ban! I was quickly assisted picking out my prescription sunglasses and had a pair chosen in no time. Grabbed a seat for fitting, paperwork and payment, walked out for an hour and received a text stating my sunglasses were ready. I returned to the store, tried them on, checked fit and alignment and left with my new glasses. You don't have to use the in house optometrist, I brought my prescription from my personal Dr 6 months ago and they keep it on file. No muss no fuss. read more

I was contacted after making my appointment online to put a card on file. I was told it was for any fees associated with the visit. I was never told about a $50 fee if I was more than 20 minutes late. I had to reschedule due to an emergency and they still didn't mention the fee until I asked about the charge. Failure to inform about a fee should be illegal. I will not be rescheduling here. read more

Definitely not my favorite place. The staff is not exactly the brightest bunch. When I was having issues with my ability to actually see through my glasses they told me it was the fit on my face. I went to the Lenscrafters in the Southwest Plaza mall...bam, they were able to immediately see my lenses were not high quality enough for my nearly blind prescription, they fixed it and all was well in the world. They might run under the same franchise but there is a huge difference in the staff knowledge and actual demeanor. I really liked Rose at the SW Plaza location, she was fantastic! read more

The doctor did a great job with my examination. The staff did not seem to be interested in the client. They did not know how to take a payment using CareCredit So I had to use another form of payment. Then she gave me my receipt and prescription and didn't give me further instructions on how to obtain glasses. I walked out of LensCrafters with glasses. So much for the same day glasses. Totally unfulfilling appointment to see the eye doctor. We've gone to this location the past two years for our annual eye check up an exam and had a good experience. But this day was different.... Staff seemed, in my opinion to struggle with the process of basic eye tests prior to seeing the doctor..... as we inquired about this struggle we were informed that this location is a training center. I have no problem with that.... But the lack of service to us and the lack of key supervision for the new training employees was missing, leaving us to question the accuracy of these tests. Once we moved into the exam room the doctor entered without introducing himself. His personality was dry and it seemed to me that he was not enjoying his day, that day. Lens Crafters has a customer for life in my family now. My husband was in a terrible accident and lost his glasses. He has bleeding and swelling on his brain and is unable to communicate very well. I knew he'd be more comfortable if he could see with his glasses, so I called this Lens Crafters, and Alex was so kind and helpful. He had the glasses made in an hour and even helped me get a better deal on them than the last pair we had. I was blown away by the kindness and comfort. I came here for an eye exam with Dr. Riggs. He seemed pretty cool and was willing to answer all of my questions. I did have to wait quite a long time though. Anyway, I came in a few days later with my husband to get his exam and I had my 3 lb Morkie in her carrier. I saw the doctor and said "remember me? Wanna meet my pup?" he didn't even look up and then rudely responded "I can't do this right now. I can't be touching any dogs and seeing patients" and the he started walking away. While he was walking away, I said "I didn't mean you had to touch her, just to say hi..." and he kept walking. VERY RUDE! Back to my original appointment. I sat down with a lady with colorful hair and went through pricing for a pair of sunglasses and glasses. I asked her to put it on hold until 12/31 so that I could bring my husband and ask him which one I should get. She said ok. I came in today on 12/31 and it was not on hold. They only had the glasses luckily in stock but not the sunglasses so I had no way to compare. I asked her to call another LensCrafters in Colorado mills to see if they had the sunglasses. I also asked her to ask about the glasses. She willingly called but while she was on hold, another employee asked her what she was doing. He told her "we are not supposed to call other stores. Plus this is the busiest time of the year." So then she hung up and told me they didn't have it. I asked if they had the glasses and she said "oh I forgot." I asked if she could call back and she said "this is the busiest time of the year so it'll be hard to reach them." VERY Unprofessional! I then went to the waiting area and called the store myself. They answered and responded to me in 2 minutes. This store has absolutely horrible customer service. I am writing this as I am on my way to a different LensCrafters to give them my business. read more

I am not sure why anyone would give this store a bad review. After seeing previous reviews I was a bit apprehensive to go however everyone in the store was fantastic. The doctor was informative patient and calm he explained everything very well and recommended the best contacts I have ever worn. Everyone on staff was willing to assist me and provide extra support because I was dealing with a broken foot. I have been to many LensCrafter stores in the past and this one was by far one of the best. I am so glad I gave this location a fair opportunity. Give it a shot you won't regret it read more

Extremely rude customer service. I have been a customer of this location for several years. Never had this happen before. Waited 15 minutes here for a representative and didn't even get approached or asked if we needed help. When one representative was done with a customer, she ignored me and was tidying up the register. The other female representative was on the computer. To add insult to injury, when another customer waked in, she approached him and offered to him not 30 seconds after he entered the store. When leaving my husband and I informed the ladies that no one ever offered to help us and all we got was "sorry" as she walked away from us. I have been going to this Lenscrafters for years, and they have always offered excellent customer service and excellent product. I have a pretty difficult prescription, which makes them always have to order my lenses. But they usually get them in quickly and I appreciate the rush they put on them. The employees are extremely nice and helpful. I will continue coming to this location. read more

Awful service, get ready to have them roll their eyes at you if you are new to needing glasses and don't know much about it. I was also told on the phone they could GIVE me my measurements but nobody will actually give you the numbers. They think it'll keep you from shopping elsewhere I guess? but they're wrong. not worth it to be looked at like you're dumb and on top of the crap service the prices are definitely not reasonable, they are clearly desperate for money and the employees (mainly Jessica) are miserable and drive customers away. read more
