I made the appointment but when I arrived for it I was informed that the email was sent by mistake a week early and I was not eligible for OHIP coverage (I'm over 65). There was absolutely no effort made to compensate me for my trouble, rather i was told that I could re-schedule a week later. I sent a complaint to the parent company Luxotica, but was given a run-around and directed to a non-functioning complaint form. This used to be a good place to go, but in my opinion the customer service has gone downhill. I will be looking for a local optometrist that is not part of a huge multinational enterprise.

I also advised them that I have a medical exemption from wearing a mask and they have refused to render me a service unless I wear one. Their excuse is to protect their elderly patients . I proceeded to send them the Public Health Order regarding public health exemptions and they did not budge. I am currently in the process of filing a Human Rights complaint . Upon reiterating concerns regarding my disability, they stated that I would be REQUIRED to wear a mask in the common areas, but not when I meet with the doctor. Please be aware that they do not make accommodations due to undue hardship for those patients with disabilities.

I can't recommend this place enough!…read more I was pretty nervous about getting Lasik done, but I was greeted warmly by Virginia the moment I stepped in. She walked me through the whole process and was very available when I had 1001 questions. I was able to schedule my free consultation shortly after I came in for information. I met with Chris who is simply hilarious and he took down a bunch of information about my eyes. He was really good at making me feel at ease. Then, I met Tim who did the dreaded "which is better? One or two? Can you read the letters there?" Test. I was pretty nervous about that, since I have bad eyes and I already feel defeated after I fail the letter reading test, but nope! He also made me feel really relaxed and comfortable. I asked a billion questions and he was able to answer everything really clearly. After booking my surgery which was about a month away due to my schedule, I called Lasik MD a bunch of times with random concerns and questions and they always happily answered with a smile. On the day of my surgery, i mostly saw the same people that I've been in contact with before and it was really comforting to see a bunch of familiar faces. After waiting in the lounge, getting a quick exam done, signing my consent forms and paying for my surgery I was lead upstairs by the wonderful Jamie and I waited in a smaller lounge with one other patient who just finished his surgery. We got to talk for about 20min and I went in! Dr Johnson was the one who greeted me at the door and he was very approachable and he made me laugh a bunch of times. The surgery was really interesting and pretty fun actually (weird, I know)! There was no pain, just pressure as they will tell you. There's also a weird smell, but they warn you about that too. Afterwards, I waited a bit more, got a second exam to see if everything started to heal, got my first set of drops and I was on my way! The whole experience was amazing. The staff is just perfect. I can't stress enough how great the team is. It really made a world of difference for me. I felt well taken care of and I felt like they took a personal interest. My schedule is weird and they worked to accomodate me as best as they could. I could go on for days, but if you have more specific questions, feel free to send me a message. I'd be glad to elaborate further. Reminder: Lasik is still a surgery, so it's not something to take lightly. It's important to consider all the factors and to talk to trained professionals before deciding to proceed with the surgery :)

Ridiculous cost may have been because they took it upon themselves to have my coat dry cleaned without my permission - I've washed it over a dozen times trying to get the stink out, but those chemicals are hardcore and almost impossible to remove, so now I get sick every time I wear it... guess my six hundred and something dollar parka is ruined now, and I can't replace it with my pension budget. Worst part is that they bit my head off and shouted excuses at me instead of apologizing. Oh, and they did not return my really nice leather zipper-pull.

Dr. Kobilov expelled my family from his clinic's patients list. He even cancelled all existing…read moreappointments for my family member. Sounds non-professional and rude (especially if they claim themselves "friendly" on their website's homepage)? Well, this was how this dentist found appropriate to pay back to me. I was asking the clinic some inconvenient questions. It was just me, not my family members, but the dentist found appropriate to punish innocent people. Dr. Kobilov's choice of punishment might appear right for those who believe that some dentists are saint people who never make mistakes and therefore should never be questioned or criticized. My fault. I should have learned to behave better in this clinic. I made a lot of sins. Here they are: I allowed myself to ask the clinic questions that were related to their billing errors (duplicate billing/overcharging). I brought a third professional opinion into our discussion with the clinic, and this third opinion was not in favor for quality of work and billing at KMA Dental. I was not happy with the fact that Dr. Kobilov could unilaterally change appointment time and did not even bother himself about giving a call in advance in order to discuss with the patient whether this was acceptable or not. (This seems pretty disrespectful, especially if you read on the clinic's website or Google Reviews pages about their "friends and family" style or "respectful communication" practices). Going back to last treatment episode in this clinic I did not like that Dr. Kobiliv made anesthetic shot without patient's permission. Unfortunately, the above mentioned episodes happened in May of 2023 were not the first cases of disappointment with KMA Dental. Well, it is clear by now that Dr. Kobilov never appreciated honest and trustful discussion. No wonder he called our recent email communication around real issues as "condescending", "insulting" and "harassing" (read their Google Reviews response to my review). Summarizing this long review, I personally believe that patients do have rights to ask questions on treatment qualities, amounts billed, office ethics towards patients, and etc. but maybe I am exaggerating something. Anyway, if you are okay with any amounts billed; if you are fine with duplicate billing; if you are not mentioning second opinion in this office; if it is acceptable for you that the clinic can change your appointment time without asking your opinion; and if you never argue with this dentist at all you are probably guaranteed to be happy with their service.
