I made the appointment but when I arrived for it I was informed that the email was sent by mistake a week early and I was not eligible for OHIP coverage (I'm over 65). There was absolutely no effort made to compensate me for my trouble, rather i was told that I could re-schedule a week later. I sent a complaint to the parent company Luxotica, but was given a run-around and directed to a non-functioning complaint form. This used to be a good place to go, but in my opinion the customer service has gone downhill. I will be looking for a local optometrist that is not part of a huge multinational enterprise.

I also advised them that I have a medical exemption from wearing a mask and they have refused to render me a service unless I wear one. Their excuse is to protect their elderly patients . I proceeded to send them the Public Health Order regarding public health exemptions and they did not budge. I am currently in the process of filing a Human Rights complaint . Upon reiterating concerns regarding my disability, they stated that I would be REQUIRED to wear a mask in the common areas, but not when I meet with the doctor. Please be aware that they do not make accommodations due to undue hardship for those patients with disabilities.

I explained that I was a senior and my 2yr exam would be covered. I was told yes, BUT there was other testing they wanted done. I didn't understand, what test and why? Especially since my eye surgeon had sent me and had done a lot testing himself due to many surgeries and exams. Nope had to pay out of pocket for these "test". They REFUSED my eye exam unless I paid for these extras. Waste of my time and the $4 dollars it cost to park downtown. Shameful

KingstonOn/Cataraqui Mall has terrible service. I ordered 2 new pair of glasses. Got an email…read moresaying they were ready to be picked up. When I got there only one pair was there. Ten days later I stopped in to see if the other pair had arrived, but they had not and the staff had no idea where they were so they re-ordered them. Two days after that I got a message saying my glasses were in. When I picked them up they said this was the 'original' pair but when the re-ordered ones arrived I could just have them, which I did appreciate. I got an email over the weekend saying my glasses had finally arrived. I drove there this morning only to find out that they had re-ordered the wrong glasses. I have no idea if they're going to try and re-order the correct pair but at this point I will probably not go back to get them, even though they're a 'free' pair of glasses. I do not live in Kingston and it takes me 35 minutes to get there. I've now already driven there several times only to leave very, very frustrated.
