It's always very easy to schedule appointments and you can literally take a visit on a lunch break, as she is efficient and honors appointment times. So much respect for doctors and practices that try their best to stay on time and respect your time as well. All of the staff are friendly, they do a great job explaining what to expect, and it's no frills billing that you pay during your appointment time. Aside from my routine eye exams, Dr. Fripps has excellent chair side manner and holds space for you to address any questions or concerns you may have with your eyes. Then not only does she make recommendations, but also tries to give 2-3 recommendations in varying price points and locations (online vs retail) for whatever budget you may be hoping to stay within. This is one of those places you almost wish you visit more than once a year or so, but it's a welcoming practice and she remembers little details about you even though visits are infrequent. I chose a pair of Costas. They were very expensive, but I was excited to invest in a nice pair of sunglasses. After I was fitted for them, I went back several weeks later to pick them up. I had ordered progressive lenses so that I could read and see far away. The transition of closer to far away was not good, and I could not see to read at all with them. The tech was very nice and said that she would order a new pair and have the lenses adjusted. When I went back the second time, then I could see to read, but could not see far away. The tech became very frustrated and walked away when I told her that I still could not see. She sent a different tech over to help me who said they would refund me for my glasses. I told her that I didn't want to be refunded, I just wanted to be able to see clearly out of the glasses that I was paying so much money for. She escorted me to the front, and I asked her why she was not offering me other alternatives for glasses that might work better with progressive lenses. She was dismissive and told me that she could not help me. If there are certain styles of glasses that do not work with progressive lenses, I should've been told that up front. I also expected a much higher level of customer service to try and find a pair that would work for me. I felt blamed, dismissed, and disrespected. I will not be going back. I called a few days later to speak to the office manager to share my experience and no one returned my call.

I continued to walk up to the counter and stood there waiting... within 10 feet of him. 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 4 minutes pass- no "Hello", no "I'll be right with you", no acknowledgment of my existence. Just completely ignored me. He eventually asked my name and handed me my glasses. Didn't check to make sure they fit, nothing- just handed them to me and I was on my way. I give people a lot of grace but this was beyond rude and left a very bad taste in my mouth. Will head somewhere else next time.

Seems strange right, but it's because the Dr is independent of Target, and basically rents the space. Anyway, appointment with Dr. Mauro and her staff was great. Everyone was very friendly, fast, and efficient. No one likes being dilated ever, but she made the experience easy and I didn't even tear up too bad haha. The front desk staff were great as well, so I recommend anyone to make an appointment. Only downside is you can't use your Target Redcard on this side for the vision exam, again because they're independent. No biggie though, but just good to know. You can also book your appointment online, which I love! So after the vision exam, left out and walked down the sidewalk to the main entrance of Target to get to the Optical side where I can get glasses or contacts. The staff in this portion are Target employees, were very fun and friendly, and I enjoyed them trying on glasses with me and just making it a great environment! You CAN use your Target Redcard in this section, which was awesome! The promotions they had were great, but in my case was better to go through my insurance. Either way it was honestly the most affordable place I've purchased glasses in the 10+ years I've been in the market. It was less than $100 out the door with designer frames, but I did add on the protection package, which put it slightly over. The nice thing is the return policy is generous, and the discount for 3 months after your purchase. Do yourself a favor, and just go!

I went to Virginia Eye Institute on Aug. 19 because of irritation from a stye. During my initial…read morevisit, Dr. Jason Chiappetta told me he did not want to prescribe any ointment until I was evaluated by a surgeon in the same office. I was referred to Dr. Bearden and was specifically told to bring a driver to that appointment. I saw Dr. Bearden on August 26, approximately 45 minutes after my scheduled 3:50 p.m. appointment time. After the evaluation, Dr. Bearden essentially told me the same thing I had already been told during my previous visit. The only difference was that he prescribed an ointment to be applied three times a day and asked me to return in three weeks to see how it looked. What is especially frustrating is that I was charged another copay and my insurance was billed for what felt like essentially the same evaluation and information I had already received about a week earlier. I do not feel that the second visit provided enough additional care to justify another office charge. Based on this experience, I am extremely dissatisfied with Virginia Eye Institute. I would not recommend this practice based on how my appointment was handled and the way I feel my insurance was billed. If I could give less than one star, I would.

As we walked around for a bit, I found many of my favorite stores like Lululemon, Dick's, Lego, H&M and an Apple Store too. It was a good mix of popular and expensive brands. They had Macy's and Dillard's departmental stores. Several of the restaurants included CFK, Chick fil a, Chipotle, The Cheesecake Factory, Texas De Brazil, Magliano's and lots more.
