When I walked in, I was little worried about the wait. There were a lot of people in there and hardly anywhere to sit. The lady at the front desk that wasn't on the phone could've been a little nicer and acknowledged me when I walked up instead of just looking at me and then doing something else and then acknowledging me. They did a nice job fitting me for my glasses and had a good selection of frames. They were close to my home.

The problem is that no one responds to phone calls in this location. I called multiple times over a 2 day period and no one picked up the phone. I drove 45 minutes to check on my order and when I mentioned that no one was picking up the phone, I was told that when they are busy they don't have time to answer the phone. Is the store understaffed? Not sure but definitely mismanaged. But the employees are very helpful and professional so when someone finally gets to you, it is a pleasant experience. read more

I recently went into this location due to the proximity to my work, the Brooks Brothers eyeglasses that I purchased a few months ago had started to peel apart on the temples. And I needed to repaired or replaced. As I entered was approached by a salesperson named "Mike", I throughly detailed my issue to him, His response was " I don't know if we got those anymore, maybe try over at the Brooks Brothers store" I asked him if they carried eyeglass parts?. He slowly replied "I don't know, maybe" , and then walked over to help a female customer. He was like he had no time or mental capacity to even look up the part or even try to resolve my issue. It just goes to show "worthless help" is worse than no help at all. If you get stuck with a moronic salesperson like a Mike, just ask around at this location until you get someone to actually assist you. read more

Personally I was a little hesitant to come here based off the reviews but going to my appointment today. I waited less than 5 min to be called back. And another 2 for the doctor. It was really quick and dr Jones was really fun and easy going. Customer service was great here. Not sure if they have new staff or not based of previous reviews. Overall this place was amazing. Had made an appt. at Fox Eye Care / Greensboro. Sat in the reception area for 50 min before they finally called me back. Appt at 11, waited for 50min. First Gripe. Second Gripe. Saw the first tech for 5min. Had to then go back to reception room to wait for my turn again for the doctor. Finally went back to see the doctor about 10min later. Spent about 10min with the doctor. And that was it. Went to the contact room to get my contacts after spending 10 min with the doctor. Never saw him again. They were all done. Total of 15 min of work completed. Went to front to pay. Charge was 267.00 Last year I paid 218.00 Went next door to LensCrafter they quoted me 487.00 for my lenses. I told them I would just get them at CostCo for 180.00. Asked the folks at CostCo how much a eye exam would be through their off site doctor. 80.00 Asked the cost of 1 box of contacts at both LensCrafters and CostCo. LensCrafters were 40.00 more per box than CostCo. Will never go back to Fox Eye Care or LensCrafters ever again. read more

I just went to this place for an eye exam and I'm very disappointed. The customer service on the doctor side was rude and had no patience. I came in with my 7 month old baby, requested to use the bathroom and was rudely told that there was no public restroom. I could go down the street to use one, all the while I'm holding my baby and trying to navigate her stroller through this store. No one was helpful at all. read more

had an eye appointment that was scheduled ahead of time, and had to wait over half an hour in the waiting room with other customers. it seems this place has a tendency to overbook themselves instead of just taking less appointments throughout the week. customer service is extremely rude, and the women at the front desk were extremely loud on the phone at the same time screaming over each other while over 8 people are in the waiting room. waiting for the doctor took about 45, and i was told after the pre-exams to go back to the waiting room to wait for the doctor. every experience at this place has been the worst experience. read more

I have been a customer at this LensCrafters for many years, however I am appalled at their customer service. I paid a great deal of money for a pair glasses (frames and lenses). I trusted their techs to doublecheck that I got what I paid for. It came to my attention that the transitions lenses that I ordered along with the anti-glare coating, was never applied. I went back in and they fixed it but acted like I was an extreme imposition coming back in. Check everything you buy here, expect to wait and do t expect any level of customer service. I have to say though Fox Eyecare next door is an excellent optometrist. read more

Sales staff is polite enough, but once you sit down to order glasses the 'dirty used car salesman' comes out. Came home found the exact same glasses with top tier lenses/coatings for a quarter of the price after insurance. I didn't really care for this place, but it also could've been because I was already annoyed from being at the eye dr all morning and my eyes were sensitive from being dilated. There are two entrances to this place; I didn't really know which one to go to so I went to the one that was directly in front of the door I walked in, which was the area with all the glasses. I walked towards the counter, there was an employee sitting with a customer at one of the tables, there was an employee who was behind the wall behind the counter talking on the phone and then there was an employee who walked in probably from her lunch break, looked right at me and went to the back of the store. I stood there and waited and then the woman who was talking on the phone came out from behind the wall and just walked right past me on her phone again, there weren't any other customers in the store so I don't know where she was going. I was ill and kinda baffled that 3 employees had seen I was there, not one of them said a word to me..was kinda a rude atmosphere so I just left. I'm sure they would've provided good service and probably have great glasses but my experience wasn't the best. read more

I broke a pair of glasses and went in to see if they could fix them. While they could not they helped me with other solutions. One of the suggestions was even to go to another non LensCrafters store. I chose to get new frames as it had been awhile. Because my broken glasses we unwearable they were able to get me in a new pair the same day. I called about making an appointment,but was told they had walk in hours so come on in. I drove an hour to get there. When I arrived I was told they were too busy and I would have to come back another time. I told them I called before driving an hour but they said there was nothing they can do.The staff here has no customer service skills,and it seems they don't even want you there.Even though they had a great deal,I will go elsewhere to get better service even if it is more expensive. read more

This is my second year patronizing LensCrafters Friendly Center Greensboro. I came in and waited for almost 10-20, I had someone meet me and told me to wait. I waited patiently with no complaint, the manager who is black took two white /caucasian customers who can in after me and the last one way after me. I was not asked what I wanted so they could not have determined how long my service would have taken. If they decided to take two people that came in after me, they should have at least indicated that this was a quick issue. The manager when I came back in, decided that she was too good to come and talk to me and SHE was the one who did the act. I will not be using this location but instead will drive out of town to find another. This was disgusting and utterly rude. I will cancel the thought of getting another glasses here at LensCrafters (this would have been my 2nd order for the year). read more

Very disappointed. We went to get new lenses for my daughters eyeglass frames after an appointment next door at Fox Eye Care (Fox is always a great experience). They quoted a price with insurance but we had to leave before completing the transaction. The lady assisting us was cold a rude, like we wasted her time by not making a purchase. We came back a few days later and a different lady helped us, and the exact same lenses were $50 less! They recommend the Blue IQ, but they have to order them, which takes about a week. 5 days later we get a call saying come in the get lenses out it and they give the hours. We get there 1.5 hour before the end of the time frame (after driving almost 30 minutes to get there) and "Oh, our tech is leaving early, you have to come back). I was visibly upset, and my daughter needed her lenses so she could see properly. Every trip was an hour round trip! Finally the lady suggested we take the lenses from there and go to the lens crafters at four seasons mall. She called to confirm that their tech was indeed there, and off we went with our lenses to go to the mall. The staff at the mall location was so much nicer and helpful, we will definitely go there from now on!! read more

The doctor was very impatient and ignored me when I told her that I still could not see clearly. I had to go through three trial pairs of contacts and get the physical lenses in my glasses for them to let me come back and get a new prescription for free (under the "if it's wrong come back within 60 days for free!" Policy). Unfortunately I am a college student and spent the entire three weeks of my winter break going back and forth between a total of four different appointments/stores. Worse, after break ended I still ended up needing to drive an hour back home for two MORE appointments/stores in order to get correct glasses. I am extremely unhappy with the way I was treated and will not return. read more

We ordered a pair of glasses for my son on January 1, 2018, it is the 20th and we still haven't received them. So I called a second time this morning (I called on Jan 12) and surprise they came in yesterday. So much for the 10 business days and mailing the glasses to my son in college. So I now have to pick up the glasses, hope they are correct and mail to my son. This is the worst customer service. I should have read the reviews before doing business with this location. LensCrafters at other locations is much better. read more

I had an appointment on 12-19-2015 with the Friendly center location and I arrived 1 hour early for the appointment. They said they may be able to get me in early if I waited. However, as I was waiting there were at least 2 other people that came in as walk-ins. When my appointment finally came around I asked why I wasn't being taken, but the walk-ins were. They said it will be just a min. It was 20 minutes past my appointment time before they called me in. Then I found out it wasn't even with the doctor that I made the appointment with. When I told them this, they said that when you make the appointment online it doesn't tell them the doctor that you choose. However, you have to choose the doctor online. I was going to get my glasses there but by the time this all took place, I will take my business else were. With customer service like this, they really don't want my money!!! read more

I had a fantastic experience at the Lenscrafters at Friendly Center. We worked with Raye. I highly recommend her. We were a complicated customer in that I had my oldest daughter with me who was getting glasses for the first time, I also had my youngest daughter's glasses with me needing updated lenses. I only had the name of my insurance provider, without any policy numbers. Raye multi-tasked like a pro. She got my older daughter started looking at frames, and in the meantime quickly identified my insurance coverage. She compared those benefits to my AAA benefit to the in-store promotions and it was easy to identify the best way to process my purchases. She shared in the enthusiasm of my other daughters first set of glasses and patiently helped her pick out the best pair, and got the lab working on them immediately. Because we were going out to dinner, I was planning to pick up both glasses the next day (the replacement lens wouldn't be ready until then anyway). I received a text that the new glasses were ready earlier than promised. By the time we finished dinner and drove back to Lenscrafters it was about 8:10 pm. They close at 8:00 pm. My daughter was disappointed. Just for the heck of it, I knocked on the door. The general manager, Mike, came and unlocked the door. I apologized to him and asked if we could possibly get the glasses even though they were closed. I'm sure Mike was ready to go home, but he graciously invited me in and seemed genuinely delighted to get the glasses for us. That's great customer service. The next day (today), I went back in to get the second pair of glasses. The store was packed. Raye saw me come in, smiled, walked across the store and asked how Eliza like her glasses. I was blown away that she remembered my daughter's name based on the volume of people in and out of this store. I will continue to go here for our entire family's glasses needs. I highly recommend Lenscrafters at Friendly Center, and want to thank Raye and Mike for the excellent service. read more

When you walk into any establishment you expect to be greeted or, in this case, at least acknowledged. I nor any of the other customers who walked in after me received any type of acknowledgement from any of the staff. There was no "hello, how are you?", "how can we assist you today?" or "we will be with you shortly". I understand that the employees were busy tending to other customers but there should at least be some sort of eye contact with customers walking through the door. They truly gave me the impression that I and the other customers who walked in after me were invisible to them. I sat waited for at least 5 to 8 minutes before I finally got up and asked one of the employees what was the wait time for a simple adjustment in which she replied "15 to 20 minutes." I was appalled that they had the audacity to make their customers wait that long and not even give us a heads up about it. Within 15-20 minutes I could be at the Lens Crafters that I usually go to at Four Seasons mall and at least have been spoken to right when I walked in.The Lens Crafters at Friendly shopping center needs a lot of work on their approach to customers, or lack thereof. It was a very disappointing first experience there and I hope that they make an attempt to improve themselves. Perhaps they just need to hire more staff, especially being that this is the holiday season. There is no reason that any customer that walks through your door should feel this way. read more
