To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to share my recent and deeply disappointing experience at your Estero, Florida LensCrafters location. I have been a loyal LensCrafters customer for many years and have always had positive interactions with your staff -- until today. I visited the Estero store with the intention of purchasing both a pair of regular progressive glasses and prescription sunglasses. Upon arriving, I approached the front counter, where two employees were present. After standing there for several minutes without acknowledgment, one of the employees finally looked up. I asked two direct questions: whether LensCrafters accepts my insurance, and what the typical turnaround time is for new glasses. Her only response was that it would be at least 20 minutes before anyone could assist me. I was surprised that such basic questions could not be answered by either of the two employees -- both of whom, I observed, were not engaged with customers or appearing to perform any active tasks. Still, I decided to wait, hopeful that someone would eventually be available to help. During my wait, I browsed the frame selection and chose three Tiffany frames, each priced between $398 and $535. I stood within six feet of the front desk for over 40 minutes with these frames in hand, clearly signaling my intent to purchase. Yet at no point did either staff member make eye contact, approach me, or offer any assistance. They continued to sit at their stations, appearing to do nothing and actively avoiding interaction. After waiting for 40 minutes without so much as a greeting or follow-up, I left the store -- disheartened and frankly appalled by the lack of professionalism. As someone who has worked in customer service throughout my career, I was shocked. No employee exhibiting that level of disregard would last a day under my supervision. I had every intention of purchasing two pairs of high-end glasses that day using my insurance benefits. Instead, I walked away completely dissatisfied and no longer confident in LensCrafters as a brand I can trust. My husband and I both got glasses at the Estero, FL, LensCrafters, as my vision benefit was ending. We were greeted immediately by friendly staff who helped us but didn't hover while we looked at frames. A new technician was being trained, and he and Angie spent a lot of time figuring out how we could upgrade our glasses within the insurance benefit. Because we were leaving the country for two months, and then living in Wisconsin for 3 months, we asked to have the glasses mailed to the Brookfield, WI store. The Estero store assured us that the 30 day return period would begin on the day we picked the glasses up at the WI store. As soon as I picked up my progressive lens glasses at the Brookfield WI store, I could tell there was something seriously wrong. I was seeing double and triple when reading. Connie, a technician, and the manager at the WI store did not honor the 30 day guarantee, however. They told us that the 30 days started on the day the Estero FL store mailed/dispensed the glasses to their WI store, not on the day we picked them up. Had we been told this at the store in Estero FL, we instead would have ordered the glasses at Target, which has a 90 day return policy. Connie at the WI store refused to help me, citing "company policy" over and over again. I contacted Lenscrafters customer service and was sent a form to complete. Within a day or two of sending the complaint, I received a phone call from Jesse, the regional manager for the Estero FL store. He said that his store would do anything they needed to do to make my glasses right. I told him I wouldn't be back in Florida for two months. Jesse said no problem, just bring the glasses in when I returned. and they would make sure I was happy. When I brought the glasses back, Jesse was on vacation but he had filled in Angie, a technician and Heather, the store manager. They could not have been more helpful. Angie tested my eyes and the glasses, and sent them out to have new lenses made. She was my point person through the whole process and was consistently patient, friendly and helpful. I was shocked to see the negative reviews here about the Estero staff who went out of their way to help me. Give them a chance. Their selection of frames is outstanding and they are extremely knowledgeable about how to maximize your insurance benefit. And they are customer-focused, friendly people who want to be sue you are satisfied. read more

I called and was Quoted $110.00 ( by two people) to get an exam for contacts. Arrived and filled out paperwork. Paperwork stated same. Sales person took my paperwork and told me it would be 138.00. When I told her I was quoted 110.00, she shrugged. Never going back. read more

If there was an option to leave zero stars I would. I have had 2 experiences with this location which have both been terrible. Shame on me for going back a second time. First time , it was for an eye exam. I gave them my insurance card and they told me there would be no charge or copay. Upon check out they demanded $100 as they stated they were unable to find my insurance listed (UHC). I called UHC shortly thereafter to confirm that I had no copay and indeed it is $0 for a exam. Today I had an appointment and when I arrived I was told my appointment was a few moments earlier and I could wait which was acceptable . What was not acceptable was the attitude of the receptionist. Ordered about $1500 worth of product including a pair of Bvlgari frames. When I went in for the fitting, the service person wouldn't let me take my contacts out saying, "They'll be blurry anyway". (?!?) My $500 frames were so bent out of shape and crooked on my face by the time she finished (honestly - it was laughable), my husband and I were hesitant to let her handle them any more and tried our luck at home. read more

Horrible experience! I had two appointments in a week and never saw a doctor. What a waste of time and energy. They do not respect the patients time and they lost/did not save my pre-testing so they wanted to do them for a second time in a week. They have a sign proudly stating they are a Yelp favorite. Was in the middle of an eye exam waiting for pupils to dialate when I requested to use a restroom. Was told I would have to go to Starbucks next door as medical records were stored in or near theirs. I'm shocked that a location that treats patients does not have facilities. The attitude of the manager was condescending to say the least. This place is HORRIBLE!!! Bought just lenses I had my own frames) around 2 months ago and told them I couldn't see clearly when I picked them up. They told me my eyes needed time to get adjusted to the new lenses and give them 30 days, so I did. They charged me $400 just for lenses, which is outrageous!!! Then I got sick and ended up on antibiotics for a few weeks and couldn't get back to them on time. When I did, they told me I was too late and I would have to eat the lenses and the $400. This LensCrafters surprised me. My mom needed new glasses and didn't want "mom" glasses. She said she wanted to go to here. I reluctantly took her thinking we would never find this Chanel-loving woman something that suited her. Boy was I wrong. (And boy do I hate it when my mom's right!) They had a very good selection. We finally got it down to two glasses -- she got both. They quickly got our info and her prescription, which she had on file from an earlier eye test in another state, no less. Came to get a price on contact lens exam was asked about the type of contact lenses I wore then quoted $138. Day of my appointment I check in by Angie (doctors side of the Lens Crafter). I see te rated to fill out my paperwork and noticed the price was $188 so I asked. She said that's the price I let her know this was not what I was quoted and that I'd be right back. I made a quick phone call. I showed her the reviews showing her how often misquoting happens and that the exact price I was given is the price someone else was also given after filling out her paperwork. Which would make sense as the price quoted was $138. There were no attempts to correct their mistake even after showing the many reviews on misquoting mind you I've been a Lens Crafters patient for over 20 years. Their prices aren't the best they just have a better selection than most places. I went to walk away turned around and said actually I'll keep my appointment so I can write a review as soon as I said that she VERY SMUGLY stated "I just took a patient" I don't have anything else available. Smirked and said "have a good day." I will absolutely have a good day because I know that customers are the bread and butter of businesses. Without any customers your doors won't stay open. VERY poor customer service! The manager - Jenna - is a joke! She is the most arrogant acting woman I have seen in this type of position. This was my first time in years of getting prescription glasses at this LensCrafters and it will be my last time! They do NOT care if the glasses are making you sick or not or that they were not what you thought you were getting. Awful experience buying glasses for my son who just received his first prescription for learning glasses. The store doesn't know how to provide customer service. They sent out my order for his glasses to be made, but after two weeks had to send the eyeglasses from the store to the location to make them because they were out of stock. Never was I contacted that there was a problem. I called twice and was reassured the glasses were in process. I finally had to cancel the eyeglass order. Now his benefits are not restored in the insurance company's eyes!! He is still struggling at school because these were glasses for learning. They never bothered to tell me the benefit restoration was a process and I would have to further wait to help my son see better for learning. Avoid this location at Coconut Point!! Awful! read more

I was happy then I had to go back in because because of seeing Starburst at night while driving. 4 different people were discounting the starburst as a part of the prescription and a warranty not covered. I purchased the glasses only a month ago. Angie decided she loud talk me and saying you can get your money back and go somewhere so guess what that's what I did. Cracks in both lenses, same place on each side, within two months. Never dropped, aways kept in hard shell case, and only used for playing tennis, at most 3 times a week. 'Customer Service' rep ... immediately said they were sratches and not covered by any store policy, and"why didn't we buy the warranty" ... ? My appointment for prescription was with the in-house optometrist, Dr. Carlos Sanders. He seemed very professional and I discovered the optometrists are independent of LensCrafters. The staff was very nice and the selection of frames good. I discovered I spent quite a bit more $$ than other places would have charged. However, as time went by that wasn't the only problem. The glasses didn't seem quite right. My old glasses were clearer than the new ones. I was told to take the new ones and give them a try. After all, I had 30 days to return if they didn't fit right. So, I took them and they never cleared up. We were only in the Estero location another week as we were traveling through. I returned the glasses to another Lenscrafters and discovered the measuring of the fit was way off. They were made again. However, they still weren't right so I went to another optometrist and discovered the prescription was also off. Needless to say, I was back at a Lenscrafters in yet another location. Optician was argumentative and wanted to charge an additional fee to change the lens and send them out for replacement. That would have put me past the 30 day guarantee. I took a refund. read more

I had an appointment a year ago when I was visiting for the week. Everything was great with that. They asked if I would like to schedule a follow up appointment, I declined since I live in Chicago. A year later, I received multiple emails saying I had an upcoming appointment. I called their office and learned that their system automatically does this. The only way to cancel is to call their office. What was a great experience was ruined by a very dishonest business practice. After rescheduling for a follow-exam, the associate would not let us see the doctor and said they couldn't provide PD - Pupil Distance (this is necessary for progressive lenses) and we were out of luck. How can a professional eye doctor and their staff not provide an exam with the proper diagnosis? This place doesn't deserve a star at all. My husband and I were verbally yelled at by an employee named Angie. My husband pick up his glasses on Wednesday. He told Angie there was something not right about his glasses. She told him to give it a few days. Well he gave it a few days, we went back on Sunday to try to get something done. Angie was sitting at the desk when we came in. He approached her and told her , you said give it a few day. They still aren't working. She said she had 4 people she had to do prescreening on before she could check him. Could we come back at 4pm. We told her that wouldn't do. He asked if there was anyone else who could help. There were other associates in the room as well as other clients. That's when everything went south. She then began yelling at us to take a seat. We were putting out too much money to be treated this. I told her I would be contacting the manger. She yelled at us again to take a seat. The damage was already done. Everyone was looking at her. She replied the store cut our hours. Now we know why you only have a 2. Customers should never be treated that way. A written apology is warranted to my husband. Upon arrival of glasses, we noticed the color of the lenses were incorrect, the prescription was way off, and the field of vision was at the bottom of the lenses. Unacceptable. I actually went to another eye doctor for a second opinion and when the comparison in prescriptions was made, the staff was amazed. LensCrafters did not make good on their error not even an apology. Avoid this place at all cost! I came in a couple of weeks ago and found a pair of frames I liked. It's hard for me find frames that fit so I usually have to get a kids frame. When I found a pair and asked about the cost for glasses the guy (Ian) told me the frames were $102. I said no, the tag says $99. He said, well it's in the computer for $102. I asked, so you're not going to honor the tagged price? He said, no. When I asked for the total price for two pairs of glasses it came to $711. LensCrafters does not offer as much in insurance as some other places. I went back today just to purchase the frames, and have the lenses out in by Costco which offers a much better price. I fully expected to see the tag changed to $102, and since I have searched high and low for frames and found nothing, I was willing to pay it. However, the $99 tag was still on them. When asked the very nice, new employee, Heather, what the total cost was, she said $108. I said wait a second, the frames are $99 right? She said yes. I said, so how did we get to $108? She said "taxes". I said, I don't think so. She checked again and said the glasses were $102. I said, no the tag shows $99. She checked with Ian and said that's what they are and walked away. I asked tot all to the store manager, Jaimie. She it was $108 because of taxes "welcome to Florida" she said (meaning the taxes are high). I asked how much the taxes were. She said 7%. I said well that doesn't add up. I did the math. Look, I know we're only talking about a few dollars here, but the arrogance of these people made me push the envelope. I said the total should $105.63 for $99 + 7%. She wasn't happy. She said well it's going to take 15 minutes for me to correct it. I said,"that's fine, I'll wait". read more

We were in shopping for glasses and a blonde associate wasn't wearing her mask. Not because she couldn't, but because she "left it in the back." She also made a comment about how it would all be over once the election is up (so this is political???). Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when you're representing a business that has a sign on the door requiring all who enter to wear a mask you should watch what you say and WEAR YOUR MASK. I cannot thank this LensCrafters nearly enough for their amazing customer service and saving my....ya know.... I have a 13yo daughter with special needs who is extremely visually impaired (-11 in one eye, -8 in the other). We are here on vacation and a wave ripped off my daughters $700 pair of glasses we bought back in Chicago with over a week left on our trip and I was frantic!!! (-11 means if u hold ur hand in front of ur face if u go more than about 8 inches u can't see it) I called 6 different eye glass stores in the ft Myers area and not one of them was willing or able to cut lenses with her severity. I reached this LensCrafters and they were beyond accommodating. They not only were able to cut her lenses, they kept in close contact with me about getting a hold of her eye dr back home and even though we didn't get there till shortly before close they made sure to get them done that night!!! Did I mention I also saved 50% on the lenses and the frames because of the kid discount?!?! I use a high end optician back home however I am now a dedicated LensCrafters customer (and with her Rx, we spend a lot of $$$ at the eyeglass shop)...I also purchased a $35 insurance policy which protects the glasses and frames from any damage and well...a sn 13yo kid...lets just say that's $35 WELL SPENT. They were so nice to my little one, had a great trendy but durable frame selection, and that Rx in an hour?! AMAZING!!! Thanks so much LensCrafters!!!! read more

Horrible customer service! They couldn't get my lenses done correctly and had to go back 7 times for them to get them right. They were cut wrong, they were made wrong, they didn't order transition lenses when I paid for them. They didn't do roll on polish when I paid for it, and on and on... Piss poor management that are very unprofessional. Ive been in management position for over 20 years and would never allow a loyal customer to have to come in my store 7 times without making things right. Lenscrafters is an eyeglass selling machine. Unfortunately, if you're looking for eye care, you should not go to Lenscrafters. Oh yes, they do have Optometrists available who do eye exams, but the real purpose of this business is to sell glasses. If you need specialized eye care from an ophthalmologist, they will refer you to one, but they take no responsibility for the results. I would not go here for any eye condition such as cataracts, I suppose they are fine for replacement eyeglasses, but keep in mind that their sales, such as 50% off on lenses, might lower their outrageous "retail" prices, but are still no bargain. read more
