My wife and I have a mid-century modern couch that we love. Over the years it's taken a bit of a beating: two buttons on the seat cushion came loose and detached, and the two back legs buckled. We called Len and he came over the same day (he was in the neighborhood) to take a look. He gave us a quote of $35 and returned the next day with his tools. He did a beautiful job on the button and leg repairs and was in and out within an hour. He had to do a little more work than expected, so the total cost was $50--he was very apologetic. Still an incredibly reasonable price, and our couch looks and feels as good as new. I loved the fact that he was able to come to us. Since the bottom cushion does not detach from the frame, this saved us the pain of renting a truck, moving the couch, and getting it to a shop. I HIGHLY recommend him. read more

Len's Auto Upholstery I found Len on the web after searching all around downtown for someone that made seat covers for a pickup bench seat. I never found anyone, but Len said he could possibly repair the damage. After bringing the seat to him, he scoped it out and said it would be cheaper to recover the seat inside of trying to patch the 3-4 rips. He gave us a good price on the job, and was able to order the fabric the next business day with a deposit. The seat was finished the following day - he dropped it off and it looked great, better than we had discussed. He works out of his garage so I think he can keep his overhead low. It was great to support a local small business and get great service too. I would recommend him for any auto upholstery job. read more

Len does thorough and good quality work . His business is a one-man-show. I didn't care that he works from his home, and the workspace was a little messy, (but he was apologetic about it). That said, the cushions he reupholstered for me came out great! He did several little extras for free on my job with no fuss. The only drawback was that he was a little late on getting our job done. Len's is awesome! Not only will he pickup your furniture but will deliver it to your home or office when completed. After calling many upholstery repair businesses nearby, Len was the most affordable for the job that was needed. I had some outdoor furniture cushions that needed to be replaced. Len had samples at his shop (in his garage) that I could look through. He gave me the best price and the labor was super low for the quality and time he put in. Found out Len was also a retired army serviceman who started his business from home which made it even more awesome. I brought back a few bar stools I bought at a garage sale and he made it look brand new with new suede. Saved me a lot of money. Len works from his shop which is his garage from home so parking was easy to park. Best way to contact him is to take a picture of the furniture you need to reupholster and tell him what you want by email, leave your name and phone number too. He replies back to you super quick! I have a very large sectional in my rec room. One of the upper attached pillows had a huge hole in it. The upholstery has a floral print on black background. I called Len because of the good reviews. He picked up the one sectional with the problem, removed the upholstery on the back side to replace the damaged pillow, replaced the back with other material (it's up against a wall so okay by me) and fixed it. He delivered the reupholstered sectional and told me it was $100 less than quoted because it did not take as much time as he thought it would. He did any excellent job at an amazing honest price. Some pros: Great quality work Reasonably priced Does pick up/drop off Len is a nice guy The only issue we had was a little communication breakdown before he actually started working on the sofa. Len's schedule got pushed back a few times. Not a big deal as long as you let me know, but I ended up having to call him a few times to try to figure out whether the set delivery day was actually happening. Once he started actively working on it the communication was great though. And I am VERY happy with how it came out! I'm so happy with the midcentury dining chairs that Len reupholstered for me (picture posted). They started out as white brocade and Len reupholstered them in an an aqua vinyl. His prices were super-reasonable (about half of what other reupholsters quoted me) and he definitely stands by his work. Plus, he's very nice! Things to keep in mind: Cash/check only. After reading other reviews, I called Len to recover a chair for us. I had already recovered the bottom of this chair, but couldn't wrap my head around how to do the top back cushion. I called him in the morning, he came to my house a couple hours later, gave me a fair estimate, and carted the chair and fabric I was using away to his shop. He delivered it back the very next day and the recovering was beautiful. He also added a backing under the seat cushion for free. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Len reupholstered one couch (and new pillows) and made a slipcover for another. The cushions are off on the couch, after one year the back pillows still don't lay flat. And the slipcover has shrunk by three inches. I was very clear that I wanted a slipcover that was washable. I'm extremely disappointed with this work. read more

When I was gathering estimates, I found that Len's quote was as much as $1,200 less than his competitors. He also delivers at no extra cost. (that would've been another $150 with his competitors.) He also didn't charge me for bringing in my own fabric (that would've cost me an additional $250 with his competitors-- upholsterers charge a fee for that, typically, because they mark up their fabrics when you buy from them directly, so bringing in your own fabric cuts into their profit.) To top it all that off, the couch looks beautiful! I'd go to him again, any time. read more

Len reupholstered my car, including carpeting, and replaced the convertible top. He held my vehicle hostage for nearly four months with excuses after excuses. On a progress check, l ran my hand over the puffy stitched seams. Apparently, without saying anything; he got the hint, because when I finally retrieved my car; he had restitched them tightly. l wouldn't have accepted otherwise. The black fabric top looks good, but now my trunk fills with water; which wasn't the case with the old top. There's about a foot of convertible top fabric hanging in the trunk which he seemed confused about, and I'm thinking: he should know; he installed it. He told me months ago to bring it back in the Spring, but l think not. At additional expense: l will go elsewhere to get a proper top installation. REMEMBER: The pain of a poorly done job lives on long after the joy of a cheap price dies. read more
