The bagels were the perfect "chewy on the inside, crispy on the outside" bite that I've always heard about. This spot moves fast with quick service and people coming and going, making it the perfect for a to go order or a quick breakfast/lunch. I really wanted to support this place but that was until I saw on the iPad at the register I was getting up-charged for my orders by an employee, whether that was on purpose or not. The same employee got my order wrong even though I repeated it to him twice. I think they've improved with the wait time for your order but the price for a bec on an everything bagel w/ hashbrowns and a small iced coffee was $17. They only have plastic bottle Arizonas that are $3.50. Food is good, iced coffee is mid. I think I'm just gonna stick to my neighborhood delis, sorry to say! read more

While the bagels are good, when they have them in the variety you want, if you come in mid week day they are often out. (Hint - if you made more, you'd get more sales and could bag the rest and sell next day at a discount and still make money.) They are way, way, way overpriced. An additional $2.50 for a single slice of meat on top of the price for an egg sandwich. Also literally charged me $1.00 for a single slice of onion on what was already a $10 sandwich. I almost told them to keep it at that point. The staff is often on the rude side. They have no concept on how to take orders on a Sunday morning. Line out to the door and most people ordering breakfast sandwiches while others waited twenty minutes or more behind them. I just wanted a single bagel. Since they can only cook so many orders at one time why not dedicate a single person to just filling bagel orders, no cooked stuff or sandwiches. Just bagels; singles, dozens, containers of cream cheese bagged, etc. It would move the line way faster and you'd have better satisfied customers. Instead, the same person that takes the order walks away from the register to make the food without washing hands first. Besides being gross, people who ordered after you often get their food first. One or two people should take orders and handle the register while the other staff cooks and maybe even dedicate one person to making coffee and another to just taking bagel orders. As it is, there were six people behind the counter and the line was over 20 minutes long. Very disorganized. I ordered a toasted buttered bagel while the lady behind me ordered two sandwiches and her order was ready and paid for first. Also, is there actually any lox in the lox spread? Couple tiny pieces in plain cream cheese. Try chopping it up really small and blending it into the cream cheese. Lox spread should have a slight lox color tint. Not be plain cream cheese with some specs of lox (if you squint) in it. All you really taste is the plain cream cheese with the occasional "Hey, did I just get a bit of lox?" Only reason to come here is if it's close and you really, really want a fresh bagel. If I knew of any others in the area I'd go there. 2 stars only because the bagels are fresh and a good size. read more

LOVE Lenny's so much!! Such a staple in Cos Cob. Great fresh bagels, my go- to is a blueberry bagel or if you get there early in the morning u can get a rainbow bagel before they run out. Price is on the higher end- but to be expected for Greenwich. Their wraps and sandwiches are also great. Sometimes takes them awhile to make orders, and tends to be crowded on weekends. Bagels are only ok (not the best in town). Egg sandwiches aren't as good as nearby Rinaldis and overpriced too. Customer service is not the best as I have seen on more than one occasion that seven people will be hiding in the side kitchen while people are waiting just for bagels (ie workers always think that someone else is helping the customer). Not very focused on serving customers is the biggest problem I have - I have walked in (no other customers) when two or more people are standing by the cash register and they all scurry to the back kitchen without one person looking at me or asking to help. Good morning everyone, renowned food critic Haywood Jablowme here. I'm back on yelp to sing my most profound praise for perhaps the finest culinary establishment in the United States. The first time I happened upon Lenny's Bagels, or, as my band of ragtag companions and I now fondly refer to it, Lenny's Whorehouse, I was immediately struck by its unique odor. There's really just something in the air over at Lenny's. The smell evokes the image of a deceased and decaying fish being defecated upon by a large dog with IBS (and worms), and yet, there's something alluring in its nature- the decision to walk into Lenny's is most comparable to the internal conundrum that crops up when passing a wreck on the freeway. You're interested, enthralled, even, but do you look? Do you enter? Anyways, onto the service, and most importantly, the BAGELS. The man or woman behind the counter will do it all. Take your order, craft your sandwich, take your cash or glance down their nose at you with disdain after you refuse the option to tip the person who most likely just nutted in your food for even daring to enter the building. The whole process will take months or more- I once ordered a bagel with cream cheese and received a call notifying me of its preparedness 18 months after the initial request- so bring a sleeping bag and the essentials. Make sure to stock up on amphetamines, because the staff will gun you down mercilessly if you fall asleep while waiting for your order (the sleeping bags are merely for comfort). Leaving before your order is ready will also result in a swift demise; make sure you depart undetected. They have a number of signs bearing inspirational quotes relating to bagels, either through cringe-inducing wordplay or simply an oddly placed fact. Keep in mind that while these quotes are undoubtedly stirring, they inspire suicide and not much else. For example, my personal favorite, "Sorry, I was thinking about BAGELS." This one I happen to find misleading- Lenny's is more likely to be the subject of white-knuckle, cold-sweat nightmares rather than wistful daydreaming. It remains my preferred Lenny's sign only because the other quirky quips that hang upon the establishment's walls create an inescapable rather than manageable compulsion towards self-harm- think Bird Box (2018). Some may find the Lenny's experience off-putting, but I would counter the argument that it is a disreputable business by drawing on the modern proverb, "If you can't take the heat, get out the kitchen". Lenny's is for the bold, and the yellow-bellied will not escape with their lives. Went in there recently and remembered why I haven't been there in a long time. The line is always so long and the staff is very rude!! Had to wait on line for 15 minutes while everyone ordered sandwiches and all I wanted was a dozen bagels. I would think they would put someone behind the counter and have a separate line just for bagel orders but it's clear the place/staff is very poorly managed. Been multiple times. Given the benefit of the doubt multiple times. You're a bagel place how is it that your cream cheeses are repulsive. Ordered multiple varieites and all sub par. The "Cheddar" Jalapeno cream cheese, really? 1. Not cheddar 2. not spicey at all. Huge cubes of government cheese cubes, straight up gross. Store bought dried nasty crumb cakes, wrapped poorly and old. My iced coffee was heinous, tasted like it was brewed through a dirty 2 day old filter. Still have a stomach ache. Love this place! Great bagels-- tried about 4 different kinds the bad boy, chocolate chip, cranberry vanilla and sesame and no complaints! Oh, and the low carb was great too because you can't tell the difference! I can't wait to try and update when I try other things like their breakfast, muffins and salads! Tried this place out the other day. Ordered half a dozen bagels for the office. Service was good. Iced coffee was good. Bagels felt like NY bagels (the ones I used to get from Brooklyn bagel in astoria). The only thing I didn't like was that the everything bagels did not have enough topping. I placed an order at 12:45, went to pick it up a few minutes later and was told "oh, we canceled your order. We close at 1 for the holiday." I understand closing early but I placed my order for just 2 sandwiches with plenty of time remaining before close and they just decided not to fill it. Upon arriving I was just told essentially, oh well! If you're done working at 12:45, then that should be your hours. Fast, friendly service! Delicious bagels. I got the jalapeño cheddar bagel with plain cream cheese and a medium coffee (medium roast). It was toasted exactly perfectly like I like it, with a generous portion of cream cheese. I grew up eating bagels and Lenny's Bagels did not disappoint. The only reason I'm giving a 1 star is due to the fact that zero stars is not possible. Staff is rude, incompetent, and runs from issues instead of fixing them. The manager should spend less time dying her hair green and more time managing, then perhaps something may be accomplished. After ordering my food, I showed up at the end of the 45 minute prep window, after waiting another 25 minutes the manager finally came out and helped another customer who cut the line and was clearly a friend. It's unfortunate that this place has good food because when it flops due to a complete lack of management and staff with absolutely no interest in helping their costumers, some people will probably miss it. read more
