The Pub is my go to when I had a long day at work. On my way home I usually swing by grab a few beers. Watch a game sit in quiet and enjoy some alone time before getting home. Favorite beers are the Hazy, blueberry sour and the stout. If you mix the stout with a cider get a great tasting drink. They call it a snakebite. The venue is adorned with motorcycle memorabilia and a few beautifully restored bikes. If I'm not mistaken the owner has restored them himself. The workers are super laid back and friendly. They let you try out beers for those that are still trying to figure out what they like. The food is also not bad sure it's pub food but it's very tasty pub food. I decided to take the drive out here mostly because i just needed to get out and chill stress free for a day and i love driving so why not. We got there right at opening got a great comfy booth and decided what to stuff our faces with. I love the comfy vibe in here btw. We decided on those damn addicting luscious stinky fries. My first taste of these was at the Yelp event...well lemme tell you when they brought those babies out to our table my son and i were just drooling at that yummy smell of garlic!!! I cannot lie that's the first potato i'd had in 6 weeks!!! And Omg an instant goofy smile washed over my face yea my son laughed at me geez those are the best fries i think i've ever had people!!! My tri tip salad eh probably won't get that again just kinda boring to me i think when i come here i just need to stick with the good stuff you know fried and luscious...it wasn't bad but i've had better. My sons pulled pork burger he was in love with it super tender pork and he said he liked how it wasn't over sauced..he was so happy it was his first time here. If your looking for a good beer and some decent food Lengthwise: The Pub will have you covered. I've always been a fan at their decor especially the bikes propped up around the place. There's enough tv's here that you can enjoy a game but at the same time to not be distracted and get to enjoy your company. We got our beer really quick. But the food came out a little late for my hungry date. My Tequila Chicken Sausage sandwich was really good. I forgot to get it with the jalapeño bread, so that was my bad. I would have to say for a Pub this place has some work to do. I hate that they serve all of their sandwiches on a faccacia bread which is not a bread for every type of sandwich. Their garlic fries are on point, which is always a plus. Their tacos are great which seems to be the only good lunch item that i have had recently. On to the drinks! When it comes to their in house made root beer it has a decent taste but it would be so much better if they served it in a chilled glass or it just always seems to be a rootbeer that lpst all of its carbonation. They do have a great selections of beer which is a must for a Pub, but sometimes you just want something refreshing or just a good soda. The atmosphere here is good with t.v.'s everywhere with the sound on which means your not watching a baseball game with MMA commentary. They have three locations throughout Bakersfield and this one is the quietest one of the three. I hate giving bad reviews but I feel like 3 stars is decent because their food is so so, the aren't really a restaurant because you have to order with the bar tender, they don't have servers or waitresses, their beverage selections is good besides the warm root beer and the restaurant is clean and looks nice. read more

My colleague and I came for dinner. We both got a beer and entree and the total was under $40, very reasonable. I had the hiccup beer, which was far more bitter than I care for. My colleague had a salad and I did mac and cheese with a side salad. We both felt that it was standard pub fare, hard to mess up. The meal was fine, but nothing that would wow you. I appreciated that the mac and cheese wasn't overloaded with grease that could happen at bars. The salads were your traditional large tomatoes cut up and croutons, not the most creative of salads. Lengthwise has three locations, and I have only been to the main restaurant location out in Rosedale. This was my first visit after being back in town and I hadn't been here for several years. Their stinky fries (fries with a ton of garlic and gorgonzola) are a customer favorite and something I was looking forward to getting. I am not a big drinker, but I did have their cider and then a Snakebite which is half cider, half porter. Both were excellent. So many people were ordering Zeus, that I'll have to try it next time. Gary got the Session and really enjoyed it. If you're looking for mixed drinks, be warned, they don't have them. But the beer is great. It's a seat your self establishment and you order up at the bar area if you aren't eating at the bar. This might turn some people off, but I enjoy the laid back, casual atmosphere that is Lengthwise. For me - it's exactly what I expect it to be. Sometimes the bartenders were a little slow on checking on us despite being sat at the bar, but they were just. I ordered the stinky chili over macaroni which is macaroni, all meat chili topped with stinky fries. Gary ordered the pastrami with stinky fries. Both were GREAT. I loved my dish - the chill has a little spice to it which can get overwhelming at times with all the garlic, but it was so yummy. The pastrami comes on focaccia bread, you get a choice of rosemary or Jalapeño. The sandwich has a lot of flavor and is greasy and salty. It gets a mustard spread that really rounds it out. They had a really good menu and the beer was way better than what I expected. I ordered the stinky Mac and cheese and they did not lie. Went on a Friday night it was busy but there was open seats, short line and food came out quick. My friends and I took a deck of uno cards and drank while we played. The bartender let me taste some beers before picking one just to make sure I liked it. The food was really good we got the Mac and cheese and fries to share. Was in town visiting my brother, and Lengthwise is his goto spot, so I know it was just a matter of time before he took me there, well more less than a hour after I got off the plane (yep I flew into Bakersfield haha) My brother is a regular; this clearly was his "Cheers", with all saying hi as we walked in. I was handed the beer menu, looked over a few, got to taste a few too, tried the Centennial, Widthwise, Imperial Stout and while all of those tasted great, I went ahead and got a pint or 2 of Double ZZ Razzberry, that was a great tasting beer! After a few beers in us, we decided to order up some grub, I ordered some tri tip tacos with gorgonzola, what? You don't see that on the menu? Oh that's because it's not, It was 2 soft tacos with tri tip, red bell peppers, onions and smothered in gorgonzola oh man that was perfect! I also ordered a side of some fire fries, and oh sweet heaven they burn you just right! These fire fries are no joke, natural cut skin on fries tossed in their screaming hot sauce, these are the type of fires that will bring a tear to your eye, leave your lips burning and mouth wondering what kind of hell are you eating. I guess they have a good beer selection. They only have ace pineapple cider which isn't the greatest for bar food. Garlic fries? They used minced garlic, not fresh. At least that's what I think. Now, I still ate the entire order but it could have been much better with fresh garlic. The fries were crispy. Honestly, it's a large menu with just mediocre food. Upgrade a star if you like for cleanliness but it's still just a mediocre place. I've been here 3x and every time it is forgettable. read more

Wow! This location is huge. It's got a ton of booth and high top seating space with tv's in each corner. We came on a Monday night and the vibe was very laid back. People were watching some Monday Night Football and it was the perfect place to hang out with friends! The BF and I split fish and chips and a turkey club sandwich. I'm always a fan of the sandwiches because of the delicious focaccia bread. It's so good and really adds a lot to the sandwich. The turkey meat was thick and juicy, not just like regular deli slices. My favorite beer is the Double ZZ Raspberry Ale. I live in San Diego (craft beer capital of the world), but nothing compares to that Raspberry Ale. It's an absolute must every time we come to Bakersfield. The BF is a huge fan of the Zeus and I love this one too! It can kick butt sometimes, but it's got such a good taste. We've been customers since the opening of the first location in the Southwest. After church today 20 of us went for lunch. There were 4 on our ticket. The entire group was served and some had finished by the time two of our party received our meal after asking several times about the status of our order. The quality of our meal was fine except it was really difficult to enjoy as most were done and ready to go before we received our meal. A minimum of a 30+ minute wait to be served after everyone else in our party was served.We did receive a half hearted apology from the lone server that the kitchen was overwhelmed. No offer of a dessert or break on our next visit. I packaged half of my fish tacos as I had lost my appetite and was trying to be polite to the rest of the group as they were ready to leave about the time we received our meal.
