I had what appeared to be a clogged sewer line. It was the weekend and an emergency so I called Len The Plumber (LTP). They came out and for $550+ dollars they used a power auger in my cleanout. After addressing another issue that I unfortunately created the techs hopped in their truck saying the clog was cleared. I flushed my toilet and found the clog still remained. They said it would cost an extra $1,400 to use the auger inside my house to clear the clog. I was not about to fork out that kind of money to move the auger to another location. I was told the camera guy was coming. And he did. He stuck his camera into the same cleanout and then tried to locate the camera head with the hand held device. He said the camera and sewage pipe into my house was in a specific spot. I knew he was off by about 7 feet. He re-zeroed his camera and then said the head was in the proper location of the pipe (which I pointed out to him). He then informed me that the pipe was in a reverse (+) pitch so the water was not flowing out to the city main. The solution was a $15,000 quote to install a new sewer line into my house. The next day I called a local plumber. He came out and determined that the cleanout used by LTP was dedicated to a totally different bathroom. That meant the camera guy gave me intentionally false information (twice) about the camera head location. From experience using the hand held locator I knew he had not found anything (its based on a tone change like a metal detector at the beach. There was no tone change). The plumber eventually found all the cleanouts, used his power auger and cleaned out the clog. Final cost for 3 hours of work was $579. It appears that the LTP plumber camera guy was sent to get the new sewer line work. Without any information he concluded my pipes needed to be replaced. If I was not more educated in this field I would have easily signed away my hard earned dollars. Do not EVER use Len The Plumber...EVER. read more

Thank god I had my mother there to steer me away... had another plumber come in the morning & the same issue that Len The Plumber found and said would cost 17k only cost 3.8k with them... and yes they are a reputable company that's been around 30+ years. Title: Deceptive Service Contract Disclosure After HVAC Repair I was initially satisfied with the HVAC repair work performed by Len The Plumber. The technicians were professional, and the job was completed as scheduled. However, after paying in full and signing off on the repairs, I was emailed my invoice and shocked to discover a 12-month service plan with automatic monthly charges included--something that was never mentioned or discussed before payment. At no time during scheduling, service, or payment was I told about this contract, nor was I given the chance to accept or decline it beforehand. The agreement, hidden in the invoice's fine print, automatically renews unless canceled in writing after a year, and even then, early cancellation requires paying out the full 12 months. This practice feels extremely deceptive and unfair. As a customer, I expect honest disclosures and clear consent for any ongoing contracts or service plans. Instead, I am now stuck paying for a plan I never knowingly agreed to, and the company makes cancellation needlessly difficult. I have had to take extra steps to ensure this unwanted plan won't renew and to dispute further charges. Bottom line: The repair itself was fine, but hidden, undisclosed contract terms after the fact undermine consumer trust. I urge others to be very cautious and to check all paperwork before paying, and I hope Len The Plumber reconsiders this practice in the future. read more

My neighbors called Len the Plumber after attempting to install a brand new garbage disposal, but they probably didn't use any plumbers putty on the sink flange. So basically, Len the Plumber just came out to stop the leak, there was zero hardware needed, that they supplied. Len the Plumber had the balls to charge this trusting retired couple $800 for one hour of actual work for a even the greenest of plumbers. So, I assume they are charging their full hourly rate for their drive time, which you can be certain was never disclosed ahead of time. So beware of this these type of greedy contractors, who will clip unknowledgeable customers every chance they get soo shamelessly. Just check online first, for what plumbers typically charges, in this case it's between $250 and $600 which INCLUDES PARTS AND LABOR to provided and install a garbage disposal! It covers next to nothing but they will tell you things are covered that arent when they are selling it to you. They also will talk over you when you try to clarify anything, and then will continue to charge you months after they said they would stop. We had Len the plumber come out and replace our tankless water heater. The technician told us the unit would last 20 years with basic maintenance that can be performed on our own by watching a YouTube video and about 75.00. we elected to call them out to complete our first service. We were charged 500.00 (450.00 with a coupon) to flush the tankless unit and were told the unit after 18 months is showing signs of corrosion and is at risk for failure. We requested to a supervisor. Nobody called. After posting a poor review on google, they reached out. We expresses our concerns about the price but more the mentioned corrosion. Was told she would discuss with a manager. Summary: They tried to scam me by turning a simple clog removal into a $15k sewer pipe replacement. Full story: I had a clog in my main sewer line. A plumber from Len came out the same day and gave me a quote to clear it. It was pretty high ($680) but he was there and I wanted to get the water flowing out of my house. After 2 hours of trying to snake the line from the trap I was told that he couldn't get the clog. I questioned him on the payment since I was no better off and the next steps. He was very defensive saying he was clear that it was just an attempt to clear the clog with no guarantee it would work and full payment was required regardless of the outcome. I should have read the fine print because he was not up front about those terms. He called the sewer expert at the company (who I was told would be there with a camera to assess the situation) and he said he would be out at 5:00 and would put the money I had to pay towards any additional services. At 5:30 he called saying he was running behind and he showed up at 7:00. He ran the camera up the drain and showed me the clog and some roots in the pipe. He then presented us (tired and frustrated at this point) with 3 quotes from a $9k repair to a $15k full replacement, and we shouldn't wait too long because his schedule was filling up and we can't use our water. The next next day I contacted a local plumber and explained the situation. He made it very clear that if he does come out, we still need to pay him ($380 vs Len's $680). I took the chance since I already paid Len and still had him come out. He had it cleared, pulled out the root, and had full function within an hour. And with cleaning every couple of years our pipes will be fine and there was no reason to replace them. So the first plumber Len sent out was either part of the scam, or incompetent for not being able to clear the clog. The second sewer expert should have said the clog could have been cleared, but just wanted to upsell us. Moral of the story: always go with the experienced, respected local plumber. read more

Definitely overcharged me 768, dollars to replace a garbage disposal that if he were honest only needed the sealer to be replaced. I did want a smaller one and he changed it but I don't believe it was that costly to do since all the electrical was in place and working well. He also took the original disposal without even asking.
