    Primal quail and rabbit
    Chels I.

10/10 for this place! 1. They have a wide selection of toys- have my pups favorite lamb! But many many many more! 2. Wide variety of dog food! They have Primal food- AND a wide variety of flavors. Dog stores sometimes carry chicken and beef but I've never seen quail, duck, venison, turkey, salmon! They have a ton of toppers, milk, and even treats from primal I have never seen! Also! They have buy 12 get one free cards! (Just for primal I believe) 3. Friendliest, helpful staff! I'm so happy I found this place! i never thought to look them up because I assumed a small town place wouldn't carry my dogs food(we move a lot, and I've had a hard time finding it), this gem will forever have my business while I'm within 50 miles.... Just welcoming, home-y, feel. Love it! Thank you!

That leathery toy is still good!!!
    Emmy C.

Came in here a couple times, I found a toy my dogs have not destroyed. Every time we buy them soft toys they kill it. They always rip it apart and the stuffings all over the house. They sell these leathery looking toys that are double-stitched and when I asked them how durable they where I was told they haven't had anyone returned them yet. If your dogs love stop squeaky toys but rip through them within minutes you should also get that leathery looking toy too! I did post a picture with my dog playing with it. They also sell crates and I know I could have gotten it from chewy, but I wanted to see the size in person

    Dog Allergy Chews
    Sailor B.

My dog had itchy skin and I originally came in for a cone, but the employee of the shop pointed my to these allergy support chews and after a couple days my dog completely stopped itching. She was very knowledgeable, caring and pointed me in the right direction. Even saved us a pet visit. There is a lot of product and affordable prices. 10/10 recommend.

    Trouble and Coco enjoying

We usually shop at the Santa Barbara store, but we were driving through Carpinteria on our way to do some goodbye parties for my 18-year-old copilot in life Coco. When we went to pay for them, the manager says they were on the house. We have always shopped at lemos because we support locally owned businesses, and this is why. Thank you Lemos for being there for us.

By day 4 he succumbed to acute blindness. How a vet was not alarmed seeing the dosage on the bottle is beyond me. Ophthalmologist verify our cat is completely irreversibly blind due to its toxicity. I've had vets for over 30 years and never had anyone been this gross negligent. Another woman shared on my Nextdoor post that her dog was prescribed antibiotic by this same vet and caused fatal internal bleeding. Fatal. It makes me wonder what kind of vet this woman is. She's only been there since Feb 2023, just a short 3 years. There may be other cases we don't know about. Beware. If you choose them, you should really google info and ask PetMD about the meds/dosage. I did file a complaint with VMB. CA law does not punish vet malpractice unless it's proven to be intentional. VMB is a division of the Department of Consumer Affairs. They will investigate and do have a measure of accountability from citing fines, to further training, to probation, to protocol requirements, to suspension and revoking license. Now that I know Dr. Oliver is practicing at Animal Medical Clinic in Carpinteria I am relieved and happy to drive to Carpinteria for her services. It is a much friendlier and more efficient clinic than St.Francis. Dr. Oliver is by far the best small animal doctor I have ever had. She is kind, listens closely to what I tell her about my dog, Barkley, and is so gentle with him. After she examines Barkley she explains what tests might be indicated and after she reaches a diagnosis she explains clearly to me what treatment options we have and her recommendations. Previously at White's Animal Hospital in Santa Barbara, Dr. Oliver currently practices at St. Francis Pet Clinic, also in Santa Barbara. She attained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis, following an earlier career as a neuroscientist. Wow is this woman accomplished and one sharp thinker! My dogs all ADORE Dr. Oliver (my now elderly Pibble girl will only go willingly to this particular DVM--says "no" to other/Specialists!). She has cared for them all, both multiple Rescue Dogs and my own, with gentle warmth, caring, and insightful professionalism. In particular, I appreciate that Dr. Oliver collaborates so closely with her human clients in every step of the decision-making process. She promotes the "gold standard" level of care, but is also understanding and creative if finances will not permit this. Dr. Oliver is a true scientist, following current literature closely (evidence-based medicine), rather than "the way we've always done it" approach. She is open to and incorporates (proven) alternative & complementary therapies into her practice also. In other words, look no further--she's the best!

Tip: arrive right before they open at noon. We waited about five minutes and were seen immediately. The initial exam fee was around $140. The facility is incredibly clean and modern, and every staff member we interacted with was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. They took their time answering all of my questions and clearly explained my options without any pressure- outlining both the minimum recommended testing and additional tests purely for reassurance. Lab work revealed mild pancreatitis. Bentley received fluids and anti-nausea medication, and we went home with antibiotics, digestive support, and prescription food to support his recovery. I left feeling confident that he was truly cared for from every angle. While the visit was more expensive than I initially expected, it was absolutely worth it. I walked out with answers, clarity, and peace of mind- and I would not hesitate to bring Bentley back here again.

Although they wanted to meet with me to go over the treatment and meds before I left, they forgot to put an antibiotic medicine dispenser in my bag, and three separate times I had to remind them to go back and give my (feral) cat his first dose of antibiotics, and flea meds, and remind them again to check for worms. They also forgot to give me topical antiseptic pads so I can clean the wound. I think they are training young interns who have no idea what they are doing.

After taking her to the Veterinarian ASAP, they examined her and told me that they could perform surgery which could be around $10,000 or more and they couldn't guarantee she would be well after. I was devastated, as I knew I didn't have that kind of money, but was not about to give up on Lucy D, after all she was part of my family. Friends told me to contact Santa Paula Animal Rescue (SPARC) as that's where Lucy rescued me in 2014. Talk about Angels on Earth, SPARC had the director of the origination contact me and she in turn connected me to Junia Childs, DVM. When I arrived for the appointment Dr. Child's put me right at ease, Lucy was then placed on a mat, and Dr. Child's brought out two sets of sunglasses and handed me pair ,she explained that she was going to use an infrared light on Lucy, by placing it at the back of ear and that Lucy would be totally relaxed. The cynic in me, inwardly rolled my eyes like "yeah, right" as Lucy is a wiggle worm by nature, injured or not.... but mid eye roll, my mouth dropped open and Lucy went lax on the mat... Say what? Next came the acupuncture, she placed needles on Lucy's spine to the back of her left leg which is where the injury originated, and not one peep out of my girl or wiggle. Total appointment took 30 minutes, procedure was $250... and get this Lucy was well again, she was back to herself within days and I didn't have to go into complete debt for a surgery that might not have worked in the long run. So if you have a pet with back issues, or other aches and pains, always look for alternatives, I'm a total believer now. Dr. Child's definitely changed this cynics mind and I'm forever grateful for her kindness, and healing touch!
