Formerly Gai Thai, this Vietnamese and Thai restaurant is conveniently located mere meters from the hotel I'm staying at.
Licensed, BYO, dine-in or takeaway. 10% off on all takeaway orders and you'll need it. The menu is overpriced and the food, I've eaten much nicer.
My partners money bag entree was more like pan fried dumplings. Money bags are a favourite of his and our local Thai place puts these to shame. My fresh roll entree was a welcome light option but one was ripped. Served with 'hoisin sauce' which I can best describe as Shea body butter blended with nuts. My wonton noodle soup was served in two parts (we got takeaway) which is standard with some Thai meals. Whilst the wonton filling was very flavour some, the seafood that was supposed to accompany left much to be desired. One overcooked prawn and one piece of rubbery squid.
The proximity to accommodation was our main reason for trying it and the 10% helped compensate for the overpriced menu, which still made it slightly more expensive than what we would usually buy back home which is much better quality. read more
