I was looking at a car located in Fresno via Facebook Marketplace and contacted the owner who was okay for the car to be inspected at his house. Long story they inspected car and produce a professional summary 100+ inspection report just like the dealers. They missed reporting a cracked window. After paying for and receiving an inspection through LemonSquad we viewed the vehicle in person and there was a giant crack down one of the windows that was never reported. We looked back at photos from the inspector and the crack was there, during the inspection. We followed up to inquire why it was never reported and they claimed their report was accurate and did nothing more. This alone is enough to never give them our business again, but beyond that, the entire process was overly impersonal. They were difficult to get a hold of, you can't speak to a human unless a report is already opened, no questions, no explanation, no follow-up. We have worked with a number of other inspectors and they were the worst, by a long shot. We don't recommend using LemonSquad. read more

My inspection was completed 12/29/25. I received an email on 12/30/25 that "my inspection is complete, and we cannot wait to review it." I log in and only the pictures and videos are uploaded, but not the report. After several phone calls I made to the support team daily and being put on "priority" I did not receive my report until 1/4/25. The excuse I received is that is is a holiday week and we're short staffed. That doesn't make sense because my report was complete and someone just did not click upload. Why would you tell me report is finished when it is not uploaded? That is incompetence, plain and simple. By this time, I already had another company complete a PPI on a different Corvette which I purchased making my PPI a complete waste of money. If another company can do it within ONE DAY during the holidays, why does it take you a week? Timeline: Jan 6 @ 5:14 AM -- I ordered and paid (~$250) for a Lemon Squad PPI Jan 6 @ ~12:00 PM -- The inspection was completed Jan 8 @ 12:00 PM -- Still no report That's over 48 hours after the inspection with zero usable information delivered. This is especially unacceptable given what Lemon Squad claims to do: help buyers make time-sensitive vehicle purchase decisions. In my case, the dealer did everything right--they held the vehicle, coordinated access, and worked patiently with me throughout the PPI process. Meanwhile, Lemon Squad collected their fee and then effectively disappeared. When you're buying a used vehicle, delays like this aren't a minor inconvenience--they can cost you the car, leverage, or money. Leaving a customer in limbo after taking payment is not okay. What makes this worse is that this doesn't appear to be an isolated issue. Lemon Squad currently holds a BBB rating of D, with 53 complaints filed, many citing delays, poor communication, and unmet expectations. That pattern tracks exactly with my experience. A business built around inspection and consumer protection should have clear turnaround standards and basic accountability. If you can't deliver a report within a reasonable window--or even communicate transparently about delays--you shouldn't be operating in this space. It took 3 days from order to inspection and another one to get the report. the inspector made curious claims, such as the side scratching requiring a total body realignment without saying how he concluded that - frankly, I don' believe it. he did point out hail damage, which the dealership failed to mention and is a good thing. good pictures and demonstration of tire tread depth and ac functionality. but. he used a cheap code reader, and managed to both claim that there were no stored codes and yet also show the illuminated CEL in several shots. We had no other options for an out of state inspection since the dealer wouldn't let the car leave the lot. Inspection said the car was in good condition and drivable with no issues. I have come to learn that their third party 'inspectors' are not qualified by anyone but Lemon Squad, and they completely wash their hands of any responsibility. Their typical MO is that they'll take you're money, $250 in my case, then tell you their inspector scheduled with the seller, seller didn't respond, they went to do the inspection anyway, weren't able to inspect the car, and that'll be $250 thanks. The seller, eager to sell and chasing me up, never heard from anyone and no one ever came to inspect the car. If you dont know any better, you'll assume this is legit, and send them another $250, only to either have the exact same thing happen, or get a bogus report from some random person who has no qualifications. This is my experience with the Lemon Squad and one of their Las Vegas based inspectors. I was selling my vehicle on Cars and Bids and they give the seller the option to have their vehicle inspected at a cost to seller. You can use that inspection as part of your auction, the point being you can state your car has been inspected on Cars and Bids, which might give some potential buyers peace of mind, but PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE CONSIDERING A VEHICLE INSPECTION BY THE LEOMON SQUAD. The problem I had is that the Lemon Squad did not send a mechanic to inspect my vehicle; they sent an insurance adjustor and that person may not necessarily be a mechanic...mine wasn't. When you have vehicle warranty and need to use it, an insurance adjustor is the person they hire to go to the repair shop and determine if your claim is valid. Again, they may not necessarily be mechanics. A mechanic at a dealer service center inspects the vehicle and determines what it needs, the insurance adjustor can go to the dealer service center and inspect the mechanic's findings, and they then make a recommendation to your warranty company to either pay for the repair or not. Now, back to my experience with the Lemon Squad in Las Vegas. After the Lemon Squad inspector completed his work, we went on a road test. At the time I believed my tires were making excessive road noise as they were 21inch low profile, so road noise is not uncommon. I made this point to the inspector before we ever went on the road test, so I was hiding nothing. When the inspector filed his report to the Lemon Squad, he stated my transmission was making noise. I ended up not using the report in my Cars & Bids listing and I took my car to the dealership, and they determined the noise was coming from one of the wheel bearings. The dealership even took it a step further and hoisted the car on a lift, got it running and I was able to hear the bearing noise standing beneath it, but it was very faint, so you would almost have to be under the car to hear it, but you definitely could not hear it inside the car. I was very displeased with the Lemon Squad since they sent a non-mechanic who boldly stated my vehicle had a transmission issue without a thorough inspection and had I used the Lemon Squad report in my listing on Cars & Bids, it would have stated I had an issue with the transmission and nothing could be further from the truth. The inspector the Lemon Squad sent was not a mechanic and therefore should not have stated my vehicle had a transmission issue when they were not qualified to make such a determination. I recommend you take your car to either a repeatable certified mechanic or to the dealership if you plan to list your vehicle on Cars & Bids, but I will never use the Lemon Squad again as it was a total waste of money from a non-mechanic. read more

The service was seamless from online scheduling, onsite inspection and filing of PPI report. Value was great purchased the Classic Car Inspection detailed report with 102 pictures. I was concerned as many reviews gave low score. My experience was the opposite - I had a great experience and recommend Lemon Squad. read more

The Pre-Purchase Inspection was fine, everything else not so much. When you complete a request for an inspection, they charge the card you input immediately, even before the inspection is scheduled. The communication from the company about the inspection is terrible - incredibly sparse and there is no way for you to contact them (it's only the other way around). The inspection timing they provided was also inaccurate - they said the inspector would arrive at 8:30am and the person didn't arrive until 12:30pm. The price was fair and I think they did an ok job - but they did mis-diagnose corrosion on my wheels for a mis-spraying of paint from the factory. They also missed two small rock chips in the paint. Missed non working AC system and blowers, missed leaking poser steering hoses and leaking freon ( both of which puddled under my car when it arrived) never ran error codes as I paid for, major paint damage which the darn car transporter revealed to me after I paid for both the car ( Aston Martin) and the worthless car inspection. Mechanical repairs cost me almost 5,000, and the paint damage estimate ( from two shops) exceeds 6K.So I paid top dollar for an Aston, and now have to invest an additional 11,000.00 due to a worthless car inspection. Inspection order was placed on the 24th with an ETA of the 25th. ETA was then moved to the 26th. I spoke with people several times to confirm the order would be done and delivered in advance of an appointment to see the car Saturday the 27th. I had to call someone near the end of business day today Friday the 26th only to find out the inspector left the dealership after ~30 minutes without inspecting the car. I was then told there would be no way order would be delivered in time AND I was charged a $25 cancelation fee on top of it all. Have used service before but will not be using again. read more

Lemon Squad I recently paid for two separate RV inspections through your service for two 2019 Tiffin motorhomes--same year, different models. While I was very impressed and satisfied with the first inspector's thoroughness and attention to detail, my experience with the second inspection was highly disappointing and concerning. As a seasoned RVer, I understand what should be expected from a professional inspection--especially when purchasing a motorhome located approximately 7 hours away. Because of the distance, I relied heavily on the inspector's report. Unfortunately, once I arrived and examined the RV myself, I uncovered several issues that were either completely overlooked or not mentioned in the report. I am compelled to bring this to your attention and also inform the bank that referred your company. Additionally, I will be posting a comprehensive video review on my RV-related YouTube channel so others can make an informed decision based on my experience. Below is a list of the missed or inadequately addressed items: 1. Batteries Not Inspected or Dated * No indication of the age of the house or chassis batteries. * These are expensive components ($200-$300 each for house batteries) and need replacement roughly every 4 years. * Photos of batteries should have been included in the report. 2. Tire Age Not Verified * Tread depth alone is not sufficient. Tire DOT date codes should be checked. * RV tires can cost $700+ each and are crucial to safety. 3. Water System Incomplete or Ignored * Water housing and filter were disconnected, and the O-ring was missing. * The anode rod was removed from the hot water heater. * After reinstallation, RV antifreeze came out of all faucets, suggesting the system was not flushed or tested properly. * No check of hot water functionality, smell, or water pressure--basic items to ensure full utility system operation. 4. No Verification of Engine or Generator Fluids * Though the inspector used a diagnostic tool, no pictures of oil, transmission, or generator fluids were included. * Without photos, box-checking is not reassuring. 9. Brake and Driving Performance Not Addressed * Unknown if brakes were visually inspected or tested. * It is unclear whether the inspector or someone else drove the coach. * Full driving test over different road conditions should be required for proper suspension evaluation. 10. Final Thoughts I understand that no inspection is perfect. However, buying a motorhome is comparable to buying a home, and I expected the same level of diligence. Some of these items--like fluid checks, slide function, water systems, and battery age--are basic and critical to any RV evaluation. Your company advertises peace of mind through professional inspections. In this case, I feel that promise was not delivered. We purchased a car from a dealer in Orlando after having a local inspector from lemon squad perform a $220 inspection. Within 50 miles of leaving the dealership The undercarriage faring broke loose and started dragging on the ground. After 100 mi the fan stopped working. We had to replace the fan motor control module and the fan motor resistor module. We also had to refill the freon because it was only 1/4 full. After 200 miles and every 200 miles of driving, the car literally loses a quart of oil. It is pouring out of the engine block. We had another mechanic take a look at the car and he noted someone tried applying RTV to the leak to fix it. This was a clear cover up by the dealer that the inspector was either incompetent and didn't see it or he knew the dealer and was doing him a favor. I asked lemon squad for a refund of my money because we would never would have purchased the car with these issues and was told that there was nothing wrong with a car when they did the inspection and everything must have happened in the couple of days between the inspection and us picking up the car. We are now having to put the car on a trailer and tow it back home to try to get it fixed. I had the mechanic run some diagnostics and they found countless issues and diagnostic fault codes with the car. I provided this information to lemon squad and simply ignored it. This company does not care about you or the results of their inspector's work. You're better off finding someone who doesn't work these crooks. read more

Needed 2018 tesla model x PPI. The customer service person says they can only do visual inspection. The report says bushings and cv joints and axle. You won't be able to see this without skid plate removal. They are claiming to do an inspection without doing the inspection. Plus they dont know their own service line. I ask about body seals which is on their points of inspection but she didn't know what it means or where the point is on the list. Most importantly they wont let you talk to the technician. So, I bought a car out in Ohio. I wanted it inspected before trucking it back to NJ. Having had a rather bad experience with Lemon Squad before, I decided to engage the services of another inspection company. Last minute, they cancel. So, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place and have to call Lemon Squad. What's the odds of getting two inept inspections back to back, right? Last time was just a fluke, right? The car gets inspected and they send me the report. Nice job detailing almost microscopic stone chips on a 22 year old pint job. Very nice job detailing the backing of the 22 year old floor mats backing turning to dust. A few pictures are out of focus and I'm not sure what they depict and one picture was a nice shot of the inspector's right hand holding the steering wheel. I'm not entirely clear what that had to do with anything, but whatever. The report noted that my tires had some tread wear but that they were otherwise "OK No Problems". The spare was noted as "Present'. Fast forward to this past Saturday when the car arrived. It ran and drove as I expected. However, there was one glaring and possibly dangerous deficiency in the report. All four tires were dry rotted. Tires don't just wear out. If you have them long enough, they dry out and crack. They are extremely unsafe and can easily blowout causing an accident or worse. While Lemon Squad told me everything was okey-dokey, my own eyes saw the dangerous situation. Something about tires that car guys and inspectors should know. They have a four digit date of manufacture on the sidewall. The first two digits are the week of the year that the tire was manufactured and the last two are the year manufactured. So, a code like 1006 would be the tenth week of 2006. My tires were 15 yers old. The spare, was 22 years old and original to the car. Good job on that inspection, Andy! Can't wait to hear the excuse he'll use this time! read more

These guys don't know how to inspect a vehicle. Don't use their opinion when purchasing a vehicle. First off they said the brake system was good. My truck has a $22k brembo brake package on it. They said it was good. After having the truck for one week, the front driver side rotor is destroyed. There is no brake pad left, because the couldn't tell the difference between the brake pad and the metal backing that it is attached to. If they even looked at that. Second thing that they missed is. They said no leaks found underneath the vehicle. That's not true. Then they said there was damage in the rear, but failed to see how much.
