My husband and I searched high and low for a dining table, but couldn't find one that "wowed" us…read more We loved the look of a solid slab table but didn't want to pay $7,000 or more for one large enough to accommodate 10 people. So, we decided to build our own custom table. Based on the wonderful work that he did with our kitchen, we went back to Jonathan to see if he was interested in taking on the project. He said "yes" and went on to help us build the most beautiful walnut slab table (105 inches long/42-50 inches wide). It consisted of two bookmatched walnut slabs, each weighing over 200 lbs each. It was a more difficult project than Jonathan expected due to the size of the wood pieces, but he did a great job of finishing the wood so the beauty of the walnut really shined through. We collaborated from start to finish, from picking out the right slabs to finalizing the cuts and the degree of "polish". We're thrilled with the results and look forward to having large dinner parties (as long as our friends don't scratch the table :))

I was able to detail and refine the design via email (during COVID) and I was glad they were able to get into the details and have as much clarified as possible. I had a good idea what I wanted but needed to know what final points I had to think through. It was a long while to get done due to their backlog and COVID resource rework, but after the 4 hour install of everything, it looks and functions perfectly. There was a safety issue and also it needed a "custom" touch so that furniture could be moved up and down stairs in a very tight spot. I was so thrilled at how the banister came out that I hired them to make a custom "Dutch" front door for me based on lots of pictures I'd obtained from Etsy and Pinterest. I shopped all over for a door like this and the standard Home Depot version was the only one I could find and I didn't like it. Peglars designed the most amazing door including all my "wish list" items and incorporating specialty hardware I bought off Etsy. I absolutely LOVE my front door. It is so beautiful that I can't stop looking at it. I know all my neighbors are jealous.
