Don't do business here, go to the competition. The management and their practices are dishonest. When given the opportunity to correct their alleged "error" they doubled down on the dishonesty. I bought 160 pounds of flagstone (4 pieces 24"'x12"x1", average 40 pounds each). After leaving found that the charge was for 500 pounds (overcharged by 212%). Shame on me for not examining the receipt before exiting. Receipt says 1/4 ton (500 pounds). When presenting this matter to management I was told "Oops, we overcharged you by 200 pounds". He knew it immediately. Obviously this is a routine overcharge practice for them, with no apologies, no discussion, and most definitely no service attitude from management. He chose to intimidate and glare. When I politely pointed out the pieces I bought were not 75 pounds each, they are 40, he denied such a thing is possible (AND THESE ARE STONE PEOPLE WHO DO THIS FOR A LIVING). He knows and I know and any one who has ever lifted a stone knows those pieces are 40 pounds each. He says the "scales are always right" so he will only provide a refund for his admitted cheating overcharge of the 200 pounds, but not the additional 140 pounds. I know what you are thinking, I am bitching about a crime of $11.90 (I can do math). However when they do it to everyone it adds up to real money and we customers are cheated. Furthermore, ethics matter, when he cheats for $11.90 he will cheat for a lot more. I have turned the entire matter over to the State Dept. of Weights and Measures. It probably goes nowhere with the State, they have bigger crimes to solve than how 160 pounds becomes 500 pounds. All I can do is thank the worker bees at the business, and Derek in particular, for friendly and good service, and then post the facts of the management's practices of overcharging and dishonestly. Please take your business elsewhere. Thank you. read more
