Loved this store! Not sure why the rating is so low. I think there may have been some bad employees there in the past. Shelly (the owner) is delightful. We talked for almost an hour about all things Fredericksburg. The store has a generally upscale inventory, some would say eccentric... but there's something for everyone there! Many little gift items, knick knacks, home decor furnishings, etc. Many very unique items, including a huge antler chandelier! LOL The outside looks like a collection of metal yard art, but go inside, it's amazing. So fun just to walk around and see the little things! A highly recommended stop if you're looking for an hour of fun in Fredericksburg! read more

This establishment is definitely worth checking out especially if you're into the upscale country scene. However if you're looking for a bargain here you won't find it because everything in this place is expensive! It is beautifully laid out with fancy furnishings and I was impressed with the $5000 petrified wood coffee tables. Definitely worth wandering through to see what you can't afford. read more

They have a lot of unique household items. One couch was spectacular. They also had lamp shades made from African porcupine quills. A little pricy but worth it. read more

I visited with some of my friends this past weekend to do some shopping. The sales woman that was walking around felt the need to ask my friends (who are Hispanic) if they are behaving and proceeds to say "I don't trust you." She then happily greets and helps a group of white people that had just walked in. Judging by my experience and the other reviews, the staff here is clearly racist and if you see this review, you should take your business elsewhere. read more

Disappointing experience, should have listened to the reviews others left. The sales lady in the store got very antsy and annoyed after a very short time in the store. My husband and I were interested in one of the curved sectionals in front of the register. When we asked the price and our faces must have been shocked we were immediately asked to leave. This was quite embarrassing. They have no idea who we are, what we are furnishing or what our budget is. We will not be returning back. read more

This staff was absolutely disgusting. During my visit, I was asked by an older blonde white woman, "Are you behaving?" I responded, "Always." And she proceeded to say, "cause we don't trust you." I am appalled that someone would say such a thing to ANYONE--let alone a customer. Mind you, my group was Hispanic, and she said all this whilst helping a white couple. Do not take your business to this place. Please let it be known that this place wreaks of white women who think they are entitled to treating others disrespectfully. read more

Went shopping with friends and we walked into this store, WOW! Everywhere you looked was something different. They have unique gift items as well as beautiful furniture for your home. If you are looking for something that no one else has this is your store. The customer service was on point from the first step through the door. Since the Facebook page deleted all of our reviews we have to leave them here. My friends and I visited the store today after I highly recommended It. My husband and I purchased our sofa and two beautiful sconces from this store last year. Harvey hit and two of my best friends were furniture shopping to re decorate their homes with new pieces. Within 2-3 min inside the store the owner (which I know and have had previous positive interaction with- her name is Shelly as well), walked right back to us and asked us to leave. Her specific words were "if you're not going to buy the sofa you can leave my store now". I've never been so REPULSED and UPSET in my life. You must not remember me- and that doesn't matter. I'm embarrassed for you and your actions- I'm embarrassed I ever referred your store. We were happy to take our money elsewhere. We will never visit nor support your store again. Consumers- please know- I was a very happy customer for the past year (see my pics of my beautiful pieces I purchased last year). I'm so upset and heartbroken for my friends. These women that you kicked out of your store are business owners, Sr Vice Presidents, etc. that shouldn't matter- customer service shouldn't change because of your titles. But you clearly thought we were "30 something's" out to ruin your store. We are 30 something's who own and run companies. I lost my home in Hurricane Harvey and came to this shop to look for furniture now that we are rebuilding and ready to start our lives over again. I am 6 months pregnant and the owner Shelly rudely yelled at me and kicked me out of the store after I sat down on a chair I was considering buying. She said only serious customers who could pay for the furniture could sit on it. I have never been spoke to like this in my life and I will never return to this store. I also encourage others to stay away from this establishment, there are plenty of other stores in Texas that support Hurricane Harvey victims and do not profile against their customers. read more

I would rate this more stars if the saleswoman didn't make my partner and I feel completely unwelcome. We are young 30 something's in town for her birthday, and we're looking and sitting in some leather chairs to show to her parents in Seattle. Not even 5 minutes go by before we are greeted by a second saleswoman who was clearly very upset at us sitting in the chairs in the first place, mentioning they were 5k each and then following up with "we are just not used to spring breakers". This comment was completely out of bounds and very assuming about us, and the fact that they did not want us in their store at all was very clear. We will neither return nor recommend their store. read more

I was shopping in Auer Haus this past week and wanted to comment on my Wonderful experience. I have been a customer for many years and love all the purchases I have made here. This week I bought a fabulous cowhide hand bag - evidently a new line that the owner is carrying. I had gone in to get some ideas for my daughter (31) who just bought her first home. She and her husband will be getting a sofa from Shelly. If you are in the market for accessories for your home or art work or a sofa I HIGHLY recommend AUER HAUS. Even tho I am a shop keeper, I prefer to shop at Auer Haus for this simple reason.....I want someone who KNOWS what they are doing and can help ME have TRUELY the MOST BEAUTIFUL home! THAT is why I am sending MY daughter to be educated by the staff of Auer Haus. I know my daughter and son in law will get quality, a beautiful sofa, at a price that is right in THEIR budget. read more

Our friend had purchased furniture there previously and as we had two girls in our group who lost everything in Harvey, they are having to refurnish their entire homes. As part of our group shopped, a few of us sat down on a sofa to chat and give one of our pregnant friends a break when the owner approached us and told us very unkindly that we either needed to purchase the sofa or leave the store. We had been sitting there less than three minutes and were in shock. We have never in our lives been treated this way and immediately got up to leave. Another of our girlfriends who had been shopping told us she witnessed Shelly, the owner, kick out another couple right before us who were testing out chairs. When the shocked couple left, the owner turned to my friend and said "the customers this week have been so bitchy". Any of the girls in my group could have bought anything in the store without a second thought but how sad that the owner would exhibit such flagrant discrimination towards anyone? We were able to purchase some gorgeous pieces across the street at Double R Drygoods where they welcomed us kindly. I would recommend anyone even thinking of shopping here to strongly reconsider. As a married, early thirty something business woman who is active in philanthropy and my community, I have never been exposed to this sort of thing but I have to say, it was an eye opening experience that I will not soon forget. Had the owner Shelly not treated us badly and I had only witnessed what she had done to the other couple, that alone would ensure I never supported this store in any capacity. Update: To answer the insinuation of the reviewer-who I am assuming is a friend of the owner (much like all the others that posted after us)- that we had beverages and "parked", none of of us had beverages nor do we use the kind of inflammatory language that she suggested. read more

We purchased an expensive leather chair from this store. On bringing it home, we noticed a crack in the chair and discovered pet hair under the seat cushion. We called the store immediately and texted photos of the crack. The sales person assured us that they would get back to us. Seven business days later, we have heard nothing. We paid for a damaged and apparently used chair. The store has made no effort to resolve our concerns. read more
