It is worth every penny and moment of time!

My wife and I have stayed here before certainly on at least ten occasions but not in the last 2/3 years and it was certainly as good as we remembered it. They were busy and the car park was well full, the welcome was friendly and check-in took a few minutes slowed by my not remembering my car reg plate. Our 1st floor rooms I think superior rooms were comfortable and quite a stroll to breakfast but that's a bonus to get our steps in. The bar was lively, good-spirited clientele and staff were pleasant, despite being run off their feet, and we dined there both nights. The Guinness was good as was the local beer but I think the Japanese draft beer wasn't available as that would be my choice. The evening bar food was quite good, but I'm always disappointed at the lack of fish on the menu and it's not only in this hotel. I do recognise and do not attribute criticism of the hotel here as they are customer driven and sadly we aren't big fish eaters. I'm just happy to pay for great fish; crab, lobster, turbot, Dover sole. I had the seafood chowder and it was really good and sirloin with pepper sauce but there's no Colman's mustard and I really dislike the sauce in sachets not least that they are a nuisance to open but the quality is poorer and they contain more chemicals/additives than the brand names HP/Heinz. Breakfast was delightful and the breakfast room is wonderful. I do commend management on offering fish at breakfast as it was one of my few criticisms of this hotel over the years so thank you. The gripe I faced with my wife and our great friends was that the brekky room was too warm. As they say in the north and I thought it into myself - away on a that with ye, a bit of heat is great. There was one irritation though. There's only two EV chargers on site and they are low powered. They even look makeshift. I was lucky to get to use one on the first evening. I just went out to note my car registration and a chap shouted over as he was coming to take his car off charge. The manager told me of a new high powered charger about a quarter mile away (Applegreen) and she was right; it put in about 100 miles but it was not my idea of a holiday on a very wet windy Thursday night after 6pm and it wasn't pleasant loitering half an hour in the cold damp garage when my company were having drinks at the bar. I'm sure there are plans to extend EV facilities here and I think that management has sacrificed disabled parking to facilitate EV as there's little parking for less mobility able guests. On balance it just tips to five stars for the price paid but no Colmans mustard, low quality sauces in plastic pouches, little disabled parking and few EV chargers need some focus. We hope to return in the next year.

There is lots of land to roam around and explore including a huge golf course. The rooms are spacious and have lovely bathrooms with a shower and a bath. Free wifi in the rooms, a fridge, hairdryer etc and even robes and slippers! There's an indoor and outdoor pool with loungers with comfy pillows if you want to relax by the pool and read a book. There's also steam rooms of various temperatures, foot spas and nice showers. On a quiet day you can really lap up the peace and serenity, drink unlimited amounts of tea, coffee and juices and just relax. I had a Swedish back and shoulder massage from the Beauty Salon. It was amazing! They even have a hair salon! You really don't need to leave the hotel over your stay as there are plenty of options to eat. The Botanic restaurant or the Cellar Bar (or room service) have got plenty of choice on their menus. It all comes from the same kitchen anyway. I was so impressed with the buffet breakfast. So much to choose from! Probably the biggest buffet breakfast I have ever seen in a hotel. Fried, scrambled and boiled eggs to choose from! The staff are very helpful and friendly too. I couldn't have asked for more. I really enjoyed my stays here (3 times in 2 years) I recommend it highly and I know I'll go back again.

We could see the mountains just from the view at the parking lot. We were able to check into our room early in the morning which was a nice surprise as we could drop off our luggage and explore. Our room was clean, very spacious and we had more than enough room for all our luggage. Unfortunately this Radisson didn't have robes or slippers for use in the room. If you don't have a car, this hotel is out of the way as it is not located in a convenient spot (not walking distance to the city). Didn't drive myself at night but it would have been difficult with how dark it was given there were no street lights. The breakfast was buffet style and had a decent selection of classic Irish breakfast items. Nothing fancy but it fuelled us up for the day. Suggest coming earlier for breakfast (9am or earlier) as it gets busier through the morning and you might need to wait for a table. We got to use the pool and jacuzzi. Swimming in the pool requires wearing a swimming cap which we didn't have so we purchased at 3 euros each. As we got there an hour before close on a weekday, it was not busy at all. We were able to enjoy the uncrowded facility. Overall, had a decent stay at the Radisson!

The buffet had a wide selection and of course, everything you need to create your typical Irish breakfast! I definitely encourage people to get there breakfast before 8:30 a.m. My family and I would go around 7:30 most days and had the restaurant to ourselves! The staff was also very kind and welcoming. The gym and pool were nice. The hot tub in the pool area was not hot at all so that was kind of disappointing. You need a swim cap for the pool, so if you don't want to borrow one I recommend bringing your own! The ones they provide fall off easily anyway. The gym was clean and had everything you need to complete a typical session. The spa was beautiful. However, I was pretty disappointed with the steam room. When we were there it was not steamy at all and barely warm. I discovered later that when we went it was not working properly which was a bummer, I was really looking forward to using it. There were three of us that got full body massages. My boyfriend was dissatisfied. However, my father and I enjoyed our massages. If you have tension in a particular area I recommend brining that to their attention. The restaurant there was good. The staff was always really nice. Our waitress Made was always really nice and attentive. I notice the restaurant gets really busy weeknights. I definitely think more staffing would be beneficial to accommodate the hotel guests and outsiders that come to the hotel restaurant for dinner. Side note: on the weekends the hotel gets busy as it is a popular place to host weddings and parties!

The weather did not do much to dampen the stay though, the room, much like the hotel in general was clean, warm and very well finished. The horrendous weather only served to make the warm cosy atmosphere inside all the more enjoyable. The spa was lovely, stem room, sauna jacuzzis and water features were all very good and served to provide a very relaxing time. The restaurant was also a very decent standard, while the menu was not all that extensive it was furnished with good choices. We had a burger and split a number of starters and sides as we like a little of everything. The food was excellent, especially the seafood chowder! All in all an excellent stay, one that we look forward to repeating.

The hotel is not directly on the seafront and it's probably about a 12-minute walk into town. The lobby is minimally decorated but very clean and all the staff are genuinely polite, quick and eager to please. The rooms are a dream -- very very large, great balconies with views of the sea, spacious bathrooms with excellent water pressure and big comfortable beds. Free wifi, free parking and complimentary "continental" breakfast. "Continental" in the most self-effacing sense, this breakfast actually includes an impressive spread of cold cuts, yogurts, cereals, boiled eggs, scones, croissants, tea, coffee, juice. We got what we wanted out of Strandhill: a moment of repose, reflection, refreshment and zero hassles. The best place to stay in this town.

The hotel location is perfect, right adjacent to the town centre and only 15mins from Strandhill. The decor in the rooms was slightly dated but they were clean and had everything we needed. The hotel reception was nice and comfortable and the bar and restaurant was more than adequate. I managed to get a spot in the car park which was handy because the on street parking is metered. In summary, this hotel is ideal for group bookings but a €43 per person per night it was a little bit too expensive considering there was 3 people to a room.
