Absolutely Terrible - Do NOT Trust Leith Honda Aberdeen! If I could give this dealership ZERO stars, I absolutely would. My experience with Leith Honda Aberdeen was a complete disaster from start to finish. As an active duty service member with 10 years of service and a 7-year-old son, I've dealt with my fair share of stressful situations, but nothing compares to the frustration and incompetence I experienced at this dealership. I took my Honda in for a turbocharger repair, planning to use my Endurance extended warranty to cover the cost of the repair. I was misled, treated poorly, and ultimately, the dealership acted like they couldn't care less about customer satisfaction or following the proper procedures. The service agent, Kerry, seemed like he knew what he was doing at first. He assured me that my warranty was valid, that the parts for my car were covered, and that everything would go smoothly. I told him multiple times that I was using my warranty, and he even promised me that he would call ahead to get the proper authorization before doing any repairs. But what did he do? He completely ignored the process, went ahead and did the repairs without securing any prior authorization--a clear violation of the warranty contract, which explicitly states that no claims will be paid without prior authorization. To make matters worse, they completed the repairs in one day, while I was stuck sitting in the shop waiting, then they proceeded to hold my car hostage for TWO WEEKS until they received payment. I repeatedly told them that I wasn't paying due to their negligence, but they didn't care. They just sat on my car, offering no communication, no updates, no solutions. It was like they were hoping I'd just give in and pay for their incompetence. A few days later, I returned in person to speak with their service manager, Mark Posey, but once again was met with Kerry. Kerry told me that Mark wasn't available until four days later and then, incredibly, stated they would not release my vehicle until the payment was received, even though the mistake was clearly on their end. When Mark Posey finally called me after the four days had passed, he had the nerve to blame me for their mistake, saying it was my responsibility to contact them beforehand. After I explained the entire situation, he pretended to understand and then shifted the blame to my warranty company. And here's where it gets even worse--during this time, they gave me a rental car, telling me it would be free, covered under my warranty. Once they realized the repair wasn't going to be covered, they rushed me to return the rental, knowing full well my car was still in their possession. And then they demanded that I pay for both the repair and the rental car--a double charge for something that wasn't even my fault. This dealership didn't take a single ounce of responsibility for their mistake, and they tried to blame me for their negligence. In the end, after realizing they couldn't get over on me, they covered the cost of the repair. However, it was too little, too late. Their unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and poor customer service have left a bitter taste. I will never trust them again, and I strongly advise others to stay far, far away from this dealership. They are not worth your time or money. Go to a dealership that actually knows how to treat its customers and follows through on what they promise. read more

During the summer months I never noticed a defect on the windshield of the CR-V I bought this past summer but when temps began changing this fall I noticed several vertical lines about one inch wide and one inch apart making hard to concentrate on the road so I figure I hadn't done a good job cleaning it on the inside. I bough a glass cleaner and a week later it happened again, then I got really concerned and tried rubbing alcohol but that didn't change anything. knowing that this vehicle was Honda certified I took it to a local dealer Leigh Honda on Capital Blv and the Service advisor told me there was nothing they could do and because the certification was done elsewhere there was nothing they could do. "Sorry, but you have to go back to where you bought it" we are a "different store" and if they missed this only they can fix it. Because I have had issues in the past I called before showing up and explained what my problem was and I was told by B.J to take the vehicle back but he somehow gave my hope that at least they will look at it rather than just turn me back like Leigh Honda in Raleigh. When I got to Aberdeen I showed Austin with a cup of hot water that the steam would reveal the lines, it was obviously a manufacturing defect. He said he had never seen anything like that and called Service Manager Mr. Mark Posey, he was also surprised to see something like that and promised to bring the glass expert to look at it at a different time. Glass expert coincided that it was a defective windshield and they set me up for replacement. I understand that whoever did the certification missed that just like I did when I bought it, so just for the record this is nobody's fault, yet if they wanted to be stubborn I would have had to dish out 850.00 to replace it. Austin and Mark have both restored my confidence on this dealer to the point that I have now taken my other Honda for service with and estimated repair cost of over 1,700 dollars also bought other accessories and new windshield wipers. Not only have they replaced the defective windshield but they never made me feel that I created the problem, they solved the issue with a smile! I have to drive 84 miles each way but I will gladly do it if every time I go I will be given the attention I deserve being a customer. Do NOT take your car here for servicing. My family has been driving Hondas for a long time and typically have them serviced at a dealership in Texas. I was experiencing a loud roaring noise from the front left side of my 2011 Accord, and assumed it was a wheel bearing issue. Having previously had a bad experience at Bryan Honda in Fayetteville, I made the drive out here to get it looked at, since this dealer has so many great reviews. I am a small woman who looks about 10 years younger than I am. Despite the sales team being great, Austin and the service team at Leith Honda clearly profiled me and tried to pull one over on me. After taking a look at my vehicle, Austin found me in the waiting area and asked "So how attached are you to this car?" He told me that all my problems were coming from a bad transmission, quoted me $4791.20 to repair it, then recommended I look into the trade in value and handed me off to the sales team, introducing me as Amanda (my name is Sarah). Mike, who was really kind and personable, showed me a new 2019 Accord which has some really nice features, and offered a whopping $2500 trade in value. There are only 97000 miles on the car, and it has never been in a wreck or required any major repairs. Mike was great, but I'm in the market for a car repair, not a car sale. I appreciated that he and the sales team didn't pressure me like the service team. Unbeknownst to Austin, I may look meek and unassuming, but I am part of a truck company at Bragg and work with about 20 mechanics in my unit. I called one of them who asked a few questions about what my car was doing, and he laughed at the idea of it being a transmission problem since it doesn't slip gears and there isn't any kind of knocking sound. He recommended a shop that he takes his vehicle to, and it turns out that the sound is indeed from a bad wheel bearing, and it's time to replace my brake pads. The shop also looked at the transmission and verified that it's in perfectly good condition. Austin and the service team at Leith Honda are predatory and tried to take advantage of me by attempting to con me into a large purchase based on bad information. These guys are either liars or lack the proper training to properly diagnose maintenance concerns. Either way, you're better off steering clear and taking your car to a respectable shop. read more

Does the Leith organization have a "Best Salesperson Ever" award as determined by customers? If not, it should, and the award should go to Mike Hudson at the Aberdeen location. Heck, Leith corporate should just name it the Mike Hudson Award and require recipients to meet his standards. I knew what I wanted, started my search online, and found a candidate at this dealership more than 2 hours away from my home. I also found some others much closer to me and looked at those first. In those cases, the vehicles either were inferior, price was too high, or they represented a combination of both. The other salesmen I spoke with also bordered on being obnoxious (one in Apex was just a full-blown jerk & seemed to be proud of it) and each personified the old stereotype of the "used car salesman" complete with the high pressure they persisted in even after I told 'em to stop it. I suppose they still were spouting their drivel as I walked out their doors... So I drove on to Aberdeen - admittedly with LOW expectations - and I'm so very glad I did! I drove through the lot when I arrived and found my target vehicle. I parked out of the way and Mr. Mike appeared. I've had sales training. I worked hard in years past to learn the art of sales but no cigar. Back then I finally had to admit I probably wouldn't be able to sell firewood in Alaska so I focused on other pursuits. Even though I can't do it myself, I CAN recognize superlative ability when I see it, and I saw that in Mike Hudson. He's a master of truly listening to customers and identifying the CUSTOMER'S needs. Of course he promotes his product's benefits, but he does it within the framework of the customer's needs, interests, and wants. From the customer's perspective, with Mike it's all about the customer. I didn't look at any vehicle until after securing preapproval from a credit union. Turns out that Leith uses that same credit union with regularity. I had a quoted interest rate; Mike and Leith Aberdeen finance folks contacted the credit union directly and were able to shave half a point off of the rate the credit union had quoted to me. Not only did Leith offer a higher quality vehicle at a lower price than the "jerks" were telling me were the best "deals" in the known world, they also went that extra mile and got an even better interest rate than I had been able to secure on my own. I can't see any way that can contribute to the dealership's bottom line, so I'm assuming the effort was fully for the benefit of the customer, which was ME. I drove that great little Nissan Rogue home today, giving me a full 2 hours on the road from dealership to my house. LOL, I sang Mike Hudson's praises the entire way :) Leith Aberdeen - and probably Raleigh as well - leadership deserves praise too, because its organizational structure allows individuals like the great & wonderful Mike Hudson to shine. And shine he does! From the customer's perspective, it isn't easy to conduct vehicle business over that much distance but I can attest that it's well worth it. An absolute waste of almost 2 weeks. My husband and I went to see a used 2010 Explorer. They couldn't make the numbers work, (we needed a comfortable payment). No big deal, right? WRONG! Salesman George called to say they could get us into a 2010 Odyssey EX-L, even though it was $1500 more. In all, my husband and I made the hour+ trip there twice, but I received at least 2 calls PER DAY from George and each call was the same - Sloane had gotten the numbers to work and we had to get right down there to get our van! Repeated requests to speak to Sloane where denied and request for actual numbers were met with, "Let me talk to Big Daddy Sloane and I'll call you back in 2 minutes". George would pull numbers out of nowhere just to get us to come back in. Once I was finally able to speak with Sloane, he told me that no such payment was possible and thanked me for the opportunity to try and sell us a car. Not 10 minutes later, George would call again and tell me Sloane got us our payment. This went on and on until they finally sold that van! In the end, we bought an Odyssey Touring from another Leith dealership and couldn't be happier because our payment went DOWN! read more

I bought a manual 2 hours later 45 minutes away in Fayetteville. Although I received apologetic texts and phone calls, I will never know if this was a mistake or deception to get a car off their lot. Such a GREAT service department! I have an Acura MDX & have hated having to drive to Fayetteville or Raleigh to get it serviced. I needed a new tire rod & managed to somehow lose the tire key lock. Neill was able to fix it without taking the tire off! He has worked on all of my families Hondas since I was born (I'm 29), he is by far the BEST Honda guy around! It was such a great experience today, Brad kept me informed with each step of the process. From ordering the part from Acura, calling to let me know the snow had delayed shipping, but they were still getting it today, just a little later & would make sure it was fixed today. They were both incredibly knowledgeable, respectful, and genuine. I didn't get any hint of "slick car salesman." I didn't feel pressured at any point in the process and everything was very straight forward. I didn't have to play any games or guess as to what was happening. I got a great deal and will, without question, have the car serviced at Leith. I (like a fool) did business with Steve Jones (previous owner) prior to his arrest/loss of the business. I was appalled by their lack of professionalism and garbage service. The service department was shady, I was lied to, and ultimately they drained a lot of money from me. It was a joy to work with Leith Honda, especially after such a horrible experience with Steve Jones. If you're in the market for a new car, go see Keon at Leith Honda.
