My daughter was freaked about being called brace face, metal mouth, or any number of names kids will use and I was kind of freaked about the pain she'd be in and the cost. Dr. Newman put us at ease quickly as he explained everything to us about what she would need - palette expander then a couple-three years of braces- and this for a kid whose teeth weren't really that bad. Dr. Newman's staff, and his waiting room, are awesome...I mean how many doctors' offices have an arcade video game in them...especially ones with great 80s and 90s arcade games?!? Anyway, throughout the last 3 1/2 years or so Dr. Newman continued to be as great as he was during that first visit and our daughter's teeth look absolutely great. She had a couple of days of pain throughout the process, usually from the major adjustments, but my daughter is very happy with the results. I wish I could get her to wear her retainers like Dr. Newman wants her to, but that's another story...

They said they had reduced the amount, which I appreciated, but I was surprised to have this brought up and required to be paid more than a year later, especially when I was there for a routine scheduled appointment. I was also unemployed that year and recall informing all my doctors offices. This isn't the first time there's many times when I get appointment reminders that I've even rescheduled or canceled so I don't even think this was accurate, but I didn't want to have an argument, so I just decided to pay it. Maybe I should've fought it. I understand offices have policies regarding missed appointments, but I feel this could have been communicated much sooner rather than addressing it at the time of a current appointment.
