I told them all of this, all of it - not only on the phone before I left but also when I arrived, and they told me BOTH TIMES they could have it before I left. They assured me. I protested vigorously and said she needed to call someone because that was an insane amount and there must be a decimal issue or something. She got the owner, Michael, on the phone and he was apologetic, but after much confusion on the employee's part they still charged me $18. $18 to attach three buttons! And I had supplied the buttons! No cleaning, no pressing - three buttons! The employee told me that other customers had been charged ridiculous amounts for other repairs/alterations at the store and my case was not isolated. I told the employee that I will definitely not be having any more repairs/alterations done ever at that place. In fact, I will not be patronizing the cleaners again. It is too bad for them because they had been a good dry cleaner and I had several items waiting to go over, including rugs. A very nice woman who was waiting behind me in line when this was going on told me she would sew the buttons on for me next time because that bill was crazy.

I brought a comforter to be cleaned and during the cleaning process the material inside of it had become displaced and the stitching came loose. I did not discover this until I spread it out on my bed. I brought it back and spoke to the owner and was extremely disappointed with her response to the situation. She took no responsibility and offered no form of compensation. I asked her why after they saw the damage they didn't advise me of the problem, why did they just wrap the comforter and take my money. She just shrugged and said it wasn't their fault. It saddens me that she would so easily dismiss a loyal customer that she sees at least twice a month. The short sightedness of her action to such a small problem gives no indication that they would be able or willing to address larger concerns. I'm sure many will have nothing but wonderful things to say about this business and its owner and until today I was one of them. Our true nature is shown when we take accountability for our actions, or fail in that process. She even scolded me for asking for same day service (something that many people need from time to time and expect from a dry cleaner).
