Always a good time at Lego Land. I recommend arriving early as your entry ticket is good for the day and there's so much to do. They ask that you book a time slot for your entry time but you can stay as long as you like! There are: - 4 different short 15 min 4D (you get wet!) movies included with admission that run every 15-20 mins. - 2 rides - Merlins Apprentice and Blast Trolls (very cool wherein a cart moves you through a series of missions where you use a laser gun to shoot at targets). -a small, dark play structure (where kids are encouraged to keep your shoes on?). Could be brighter and bigger. -Many lego build opportunities! Build your own race car and test them on various tracks. This Legoland discovery centre is located in Vaughn mills. Parking is chaos on weekends so beware if you're driving. The closest entrance is #4. The Legoland starts with a room with a few machines detailing how Lego pieces are made, a bit advanced for younger kids but interesting. The first area is then a shooting game ride which last about 5 min. It's short enough to keep the line moving and keep kids attention. Then you enter mini land which is quite impressive with regards to details. Not all the displays were working but overall fun to see. The main area has several sections. There's a 4d cinema that has shows every 30 min with 4 rotating shows. Prepare to get spray with water in the shoes. There's 2 play buildings with slides and 1 smaller one for younger kids. There's 4 building stations with mock earthquake stations, a big mega blocks play area, a few smaller LEGO stations. They have master created classes every hour. There's one more ride that goes in circles. There is a cafeteria with marked up standard food. They do serve Starbucks coffee. A note you can't bring any outside food in. If your kid is old enough, there's lots to do for them and at the cost of 40$ for 1 adult and 1 kid, it's alright. I had never been to a discovery center before but I thought this was pretty nice! Especially since it is inside of a mall. It wasn't too expensive and if you have the merlin pass in the US, it does work here. We went around the holidays and it was decorated very cute for the holidays. I was pleasantly surprised to see there were actually rides inside. In addition there was a VR ride and there was a jungle gym play area of sorts. They had an activity pass for kids to complete as well. This was a great way to spend a couple hours and my nephew (12) really enjoyed it. read more

My son and I are Elite pass holders to LLCA. We had never visited a Discovery Center before. My sister and I thought bringing my son would be a nice surprise after an overnight flight to Toronto. It was a great way to spend an hour or so. Entry was pretty easy. The employees were a little confused when I was trying to use our LLCA passes, so they said, we will scan it and see if it works, which of course it did. I also purchased a ticket for my sister and was pleasantly surprised they offer a discount. I also purchased my son a discover center lanyard activity book which was great, as it gave him a mission to complete. We are also big pop badge collectors and they told us this was the only way to get them. There are a few areas to explore and a few rides. My son enjoyed one ride, but another was out of order when we visited. We also paid for my son to do the VR (ride) which he did enjoy, but was too short for the cost. He even said he wouldn't do it again. One side actually broke while we were there and they moved the kids over to the other side once those kids were finished with their ride. The mini land area was pretty neat and even my sister and I enjoyed looking at the replica buildings especially Niagara Falls. There is an area for kids to trade mini figures, but my son didn't bring any so he did not participate in this. I just wanted to share my amazing adult night experiences at the Legoland Discovery Centre Toronto. 1) The ticket price is very reasonable in this hyperinflation age. 2) Many parking spaces are available, especially during weeknights. 3) Even adults are allowed to take their "Kingdom Quest Ride" and "Merlins Apprentice Ride", which bring back a lot of childhood memories 4) Special adult theme activities with the chance to raffle tickets for prizes. 5) Great place to test your new smartphone or camera low light capture capability. 6) Didn't have the chance to try their coffee shop. 7) I found it very awkward for the City of Toronto Lego model daylight colour to be green instead of yellow or white lights. Our 2nd day of vacation here and decided to give this a go. It's not bad. My little guy who's 9 enjoyed it tremendously since we are huge Lego fans. But like others said, overpriced and not much to do. We finished everything in less than 2 hours. Luckily our hotel got a coupon with 25% off for a family of 4 on a weekday. We watched their movies for 10 mins and ride their 2 rides. Built some Legos and that's about it. We did come on a Tuesday so we were able to snag a table by the food area to chill while I am writing my review now and hang out until dinner time. Great fun for kids, and those young at heart! They have rides (one is a flying ride, and the other a pod ride where you shoot 'bad guys'). They also have fun LEGO cars to race, a creative center to build LEGO structures, you can sing karaoke, etc. It's a fun way to spend a couple of hours. Great Fun for the Whole Family!! We love LEGOLAND, and try to get out there at least twice a year. It's great fun for the whole family. There is so much to do do. First off if you and your kids love Lego its a no brainer. From the moment you walk in and see all the LEGO sets on display you know, it will be a good day. There is so much to do, there are rides, a room full of LEGO visuals of various parts of Toronto. There is a theatre where you can watch a 4D Lego movie, they have LEGO classes for kids of all ages, Thousands of pieces of Lego so that your kids can build whatever is in their imagination. There is a play area and rides as well as a snack bar. You could literally spend the whole day there. Our visits are usually 3-5 hours with lunch at the snack bar. The retail area is small vs a Lego store. Hardly any finished models on display as you need to pay to the actual Discovery Centre to see them. No expectations but figured it couldn't hurt to ask (tickets for our family would cost $100- and that's with my daughter getting in for free since she's just a few weeks shy of 3 years old). My review is split in two, the main LEGO Store, and the actual LEGO Land playground. LEGO Store: 3/5 Okay in size, a little bit over priced with very limited deals and offers. The loose piece' section is very small compared to anywhere you go in the states. It's by no means a great spot, but you can grab a quick LEGO set on the go! LEGO Land: 4/5 This is the "better" part of the establishment, but it's still by no means comparable to anything similar in the U.S. Comparing LEGO lands between Canada and the states is out of question! But the main question is WHY? You have the space and budget, why build a limited place like this? In any case, the rides are nice but only few in there.. Why so many negative reviews? This is a great place for children and if your child loves it, then that should merit a better review. My son could spend hours and hours here. Just like I'd rather spend hours next door at DSW, but you don't see me complaining. It's about your child NOT YOU. There is free WiFi, so calm your tits. Those complaining about how expensive the entrance fee is, must be new to Canada where it's the land of expensive. Pro tip: buy your tickets online or better yet, if you're from the GTA, buy an annual pass. It's worth it. Once a member you get a small discount at the cafe and the store. Come check it out for your children. They'll love it. I didn't see one child bored. Adults, yes. But again, it's not about us, it's for the children. When you're the largest toy company in the world with revenues of $2B, you've got a reputation to uphold. When you advertise years in advance that you will open an offshoot of LEGOLAND in the 4th largest city in North America, you better deliver. Well, LEGOLAND in Toronto is a big flop. It's tiny. It can probably fit inside the gift shop and restaurant area in their California park. Prices are high, and you get very little value for your money, especially when you have toddlers that cannot go on 3 out of the 5 rides. To add insult to injury, the company keeps advertising aggressively trying to catch more poor, unsuspecting newbies. Without a doubt, Lego Land is not worth the money. That said, if you go to the mall's info desk, you can normally pick up a buy one get one free business card coupon. My two year old loved the rides. Having only two rides makes it seem like there's not enough, but if you kid is young enough to still enjoy anything going on there, they'll probably be delighted by going on the same thing over and over again. Great place to spend for 1/2 of a day Ticket @ the door is $24, $15.60 if buy online, we got ours at Expedia.com for $13.63 (adult) and $14.22 (age3-12). It has a small cafe with reasonable pricing food. The admission fees include unlimited play for 2 rides, a 15 mins 4D lego movie, and a short 10-15 mins lego learning section (every hour). I would give it a 3.8 rating if yelp allowed. The reason for that is the place is a bit disorganized with all the lego on the floor and some kids bring over lego to the jumping ninja area which may provide potential hazard to younger children. Another issue I had was that once the kids entered the ninja area, it would be almost impossible to locate the kids until they volunteer to come back out since the area is fenced up and no adult is allowed. Other than that it is a good place to spend a day with children proving you got the online ticket pricing. One last tip, they don't allow you reenter once you leave their premises, so bring whatever you have to before you enter (like water). read more

The novelty of a Legoland attraction opening in the Toronto area certainly got many of us local LEGOmaniacs excited when it opened. But the whole 'EVERYTHING IS AWESOME' soundtrack dies the moment one walks into the facility. It begins at the gate. Yes, they do have an unaccompanied adult policy** (except for adults-only nights), which wasn't an issue since I had an excuse in the form of young out-of-town cousins with me, whom were probably more excited than I to visit this place. If you buy tickets at the gate, it's an unAWESOME $22 for grown-ups, and you only save $2 for being younger than a teenager. It was a summer weekend day when we visited, so it wasn't so busy. The laser shootout ride is the first major attraction you hit upon entering. It is probably the most exciting of rides they have here. This is followed by a cool, truncated and slightly interactive LEGO site model of Toronto's many landmarks and attractions. You can be The Man Upstairs, or even Mayor Rob Ford. I bet Rob Ford's weight's worth in KRAGLE was used to build this Lego-scale city. Further from that, you'll quickly discover that the LEGOLAND here isn't big, and there is not much to it--fewer things to check out than I have fingers. If you're expecting a grand theme park experience like the one in California (which I never been to), you will be utterly wronged. There's an area where one can build a racecar with available parts and race it down a slope track. There's a cinema playing 3D (or rather, "4D," whatever that means) short movies, and a couple other kiddie midway rides. Let's not also forget the cafe area serving overpriced crappy themepark food. I got more excitement ninja-ing my way through thick Toronto traffic just to get here, than I got out of the Ninjago 'Laser Training Camp', which is merely a course enclosed in a bathroom-sized room. But it wasn't as bad as the change machine for the penny presser refusing to accept my fresh $5er bill. There isn't a lot of discovery to be had at this "Discovery Centre." As a place catering to the very young LEGO fans, I guess what really matters in the end is my cousins enjoying themselves for the hour or so being here--and you only need a couple hours to check out everything. Other than that, and it being a decent source of employment for the area's local teenagers, Legoland Toronto was quite an underwhelming, overpriced (which in this context is a polite way of saying 'ripoff') schoolyard playground experience. Better excitement can be had for 1000x the acreage if you just drive a mile further north and spend a little more to get inside Canada's Wonderland. Or just use that money on a Lego kit. (If you have suckered yourself into a seasons pass here--and why the hell would you?--you can save a bit on the store's merchandise.) ** There are not a lot of places in this world where you'll come across a rule like "Adults must be accompanied by a child to visit the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre." Maybe a 2 or 2.5 if i didnt have a terrible experience. It's an overpriced mcdonalds playland. I went not expecting much with my 3yr old. I understand he doesnt fully appreciate the lasers or movie. He was happy in the 2-5 year old area which is tiny.. Until he got pushed down the steps(going up to the 3 foot slide) by a kid who must have been over 5... So he was upset and squatted in the big block tiny pit (room for 4 kids), and then another kid who must have been 7or 8 for sure jumps in and starts tossing the bricks all around, maybe the toddler section should be elsewhere. The "cafe's" seating area is almost as big as the place itself. The kids from the school were having fun running around "being kids," but im sure they would have the same amount of fun at mcdonalds or wonderland, or at the local playground... Would be an expensive shrug "ok" place if it wasnt for the poor experience, now its an expensive unappreciated taste in the mouth location. About once a year I travel to Toronto for work and this past trip this winter break, my wife and son tagged along for a mini vacation. We are Chicago locals and hold annual passes at their Legoland, so we recently decided to check this one out. This was a nice experience. Seeing a different city display was cool and it had some fun interactives! A lot of the main attractions are the same from place to place, such as the same rides and movies, but that didn't stop us from having fun. The staff was mostly friendly, though some of the younger staff definitely seemed disinterested. It was a bit crowded in areas, but that is to be expected during a busy season with kids off school. The big difference I noticed between here and Chicago is that Chicago has far more large lego models. Overall a fun place to go to. We probably won't be back anytime soon, but I am glad we got to go. read more

Strategically opened right before March Break, Legoland was packed with kids when I visited on Monday. There were a few adults grumbling "Shouldn't these kids be in school?" Here's the thing, you NEED to have a kid (13 years or younger) with you to even go into the Discovery Centre. If you're over 13 like me without kids, and have been dying to sneak a peek inside, I suggest you borrow your niece/nephew or baby cousin or friend's children... Adults are not allowed to enter without children That said, admission tickets are $18 for kids and $22 for adults. Annual tickets are also available for purchase with perks like 10% off store merchandise. Parents were lining up to the door to pre-order tickets, so I'm not sure what the wait time is like. I came here for my nephews' birthday (twins) and I had brought my other nephew as well. From what I heard you must be accompanying a child to even be granted admission to this facility. My sister in law was the one who had booked a party room for the kids in the main hall which is well after the rides, exhibits etc. The main hall also has a refreshment area, some other rides as well as areas where children can play and use Lego to build mini go-kart type creations to race down a slide. There is also a theatre that plays a variety of Lego related short movies. Besides the exhibits of landmarks of Toronto that are built with Lego, there isnt' really much for adults besides supervising your children. The controls with exit seem pretty good in a sense that the staff are very attentive with who exits that is a child cannot exit on his/her own and adults cannot leave without children. It is loud and noisy place but what do you expect being that it is a place for kids. It seems even louder probably because it's indoors. read more

Our family trip to Toronto kicked off with a visit to the Legoland Discovery Center. Thanks to the advertisement for Legoland in the intro of the Lego Movie, my 4-year-old son just HAD to go. The tickets are cheapest when you purchase them in advance online. The price is a *little* steep, but think about the brand- nothing that says "Lego" is cheap. Once inside the building, which is attached to a big mall, we got our reserved tickets and entered into the first section of the attraction which is all about how Legos are made. The stations are hands-on so the kiddos can play regardless of whether they understand the process behind the production. An employee explained the process of the manufacturing of the Lego brick and handed out complimentary Legoland Duplo bricks. Our 4 year old was pretty interested at this point. Our 2 year old, eh, but he was a little young for this section anyway. Next was a really cool ride where we got to shoot lasers at bad guys and earn points. (The points don't get you anything, but it's fun to compete with each other.) They also take a photo and offer it for purchase when you get off the ride. There are sections that include Lego Toronto and Lego Star Wars scenes, though disappointingly, some of the moving scenes were not operational when we went. It is what it is, but for about $20 per person, one would think they could afford to fix these. In the main area, there is one word: chaos! But what else would you expect? Build and race cars down ramps in one area (pieces were exploding everywhere!), build a skyscraper and watch it tumble with an earthquake simulator, make ice cream in the kid-size Lego Friends house (which was kind of lame, really, but maybe the kids liked it). Also there is a section just for little ones, with tubs of Duplos and a really neat pit of gigantic foam Lego bricks. Those were pretty cool. A movie theatre with 4D movies running every 15 minutes is a great escape from the chaos of the main room. A large padded playground is in the corner for kids to let off some more energy, and a full-size mechanical ride is also in the back. For the adults and hangry children is a cafe with the obligatory overpriced food. All-in-all, this place is great for kids. There is SO MUCH for them to do and it spans all age ranges. Our four year old was happy with making cars and crashing them, and the two year old had fun stacking the giant foam Duplos into a tower. We spent over three hours there. When naptime came upon us and the kiddos started to break down, we left feeling satisfied with how much activity we got for the price we paid. read more

Very small and I don't understand the purpose of this place. First if you have a toddler under 4 but still over 36" tall you are very limited on the activities...definitely they cannot go on the climbing structure that is for age 4+. So that means you really get the Duplo section which they might be too old for, then the wizard ride that needs to be with an adult because they can't reach the pedal. In terms of Lego you really only get to build the racers to go down a gravity ramp but the parts are so random, a shaker table which uses Duplo parts from wherever you can find, and a section that is girl theme blocks. Definitely not worth the price of entry.my kid had more fun going through the Disney store across from it. read more

It's definitely best to purchase the tickets online at least 24 hrs prior to get that deal. Tickets are cheapest for general admission at 4pm on ($15.60). Tickets 12noon-4:00pm ($20.40) & tickets prior to noon $24. Hated: Some models didn't work. I would've liked to see what it looked like. For example: the Skydome. For the main room, I didn't like the legos scattered everywhere. Kids/ppl could've easily tripped on them. Liked: The interactive aspects. There are two rides, there's a fair sized activity centre, some workshops, and a short 4D movie. All makes for a nice afternoon of fun.
