I called around 10:15am today hoping to book a same-day appointment for around 11:15am, and the…read morestaff greeted me kindly over the phone and were able to squeeze me in with no issues. I booked a combo massage (60-minute foot massage + a 60-minute body massage for $110), which I think is a really great price for two full hours of service.
This was actually my first visit to a foot reflexology place in Washington. I normally don't go to these places on my own, but my legs, calves, and feet were extremely achy from work and I desperately needed relief. I had passed by Treat Your Feet Spa several times while running errands in Lakewood and always thought it looked like a reliable massage spot, so I finally decided to try it out.
When I arrived, I was escorted to one of the massage chairs in the shared foot massage room and given a basket for my belongings. I was covered with a light cozy blanket while my feet soaked in warm water. David was my masseuse for the entire visit, and he immediately asked whether I preferred medium or hard pressure. I chose medium, which ended up being perfect for relieving soreness without being painful.
For anyone unfamiliar with foot reflexology places, don't be afraid to ask questions if you're unsure how things work.
While my feet soaked, David massaged my face, scalp, shoulders, arms, and hands. He was extremely considerate throughout the entire experience and made sure I was comfortable at all times. He adjusted my pillow whenever he turned my neck, was careful not to mess up my hair, and even provided a warm heat compress for my stomach. I also had a healing bruise on my upper left arm that I forgot to mention beforehand, but thankfully he naturally worked around it gently without causing discomfort.
Once the foot massage started, it felt heavenly for my tired legs and feet. He used all the right techniques and pressure points, and the hour flew by so quickly. I actually fell asleep!
After the foot massage, he escorted me to a separate private room that had curtains instead of a door. He briefly stepped out while I got ready, and since I already knew what to do, I undressed down to my underwear and laid face down underneath the covers. When he returned, he placed a bolster pillow under my ankles for extra support and started the body massage.
The body massage was incredible. He spent the entire hour focusing on my backside using a combination of Swedish massage, deep tissue techniques, hot stones, and assisted stretching. Most massages I've had usually divide the session between the front and back, but somehow he made a full hour on my back feel completely worth it. Time passed way too quickly.
After the massage, he stepped out so I could get dressed privately before checking me out at the register. He also handed me a small bottle of water before I left.
The entire atmosphere felt relaxing, respectful, and comfortable from beginning to end. David was attentive without making anything feel awkward or uncomfortable. He didn't hover around me or pressure me about tipping after we finished, which is really nice because I've been to other places where they make it overly obvious that they expect one.
There is a fee for paying with card, so I ended up paying cash and tipped David $30 because of his hard work and professionalism. Tipping shouldn't feel forced, though it is silently expected if they did a good job. I also just wanted to express my gratitude for such a good experience.
They also offer stamp cards here, which definitely makes me want to come back again whenever I need to relax and recover from work soreness. Overall, this was an excellent first experience and I would absolutely recommend Treat Your Feet Spa.
yes, I wrote a similar review on Google as well, more visibility on more platforms for a great massage place :)
