Since North Point is State Park, you have to make reservations before entering. This requires you to create an account online and pay prior to entry. I felt that it was awkward I had to do that this morning since there was not a lot of people in the park and they were not at capacity. I'm not a fan of this at all however I do understand with some parks who meet capacity on the weekend and holidays during the summer. It's a nice area that also offers a swimming area as well as a pavilion and multiple trails to walk.

And the activities going on around there (drugs and prostitution) were definitely not something any law abiding citizen wished to be around. They also have a picnic table and a grill under the shade so you can cool off during hot sunny days. They also have a little trail that leads to a sandy area. You're not allowed to swim there, but we just dipped our feet in the water to cool off a little. The people working at the park didn't seem to mind us in the water. We did try crabbing but didn't have much luck. Since the pier is really high, you need a lot of string and a long crabbing net. We had a lot of fun!

For all that come to the park for the right reasons welcome. Also, park in no parking spots and drive their vehicle through the grass lots where the waterfowl graze to eat. The waterfowl, ducks, geese live at the park, have respect for them, if not trash your own property. If you feed the animals, don't give them bread it is bad for them. If you don't believe so Google it. If you happen to be someone who has the no care, no respect attitude and think you are above it all, don't visit the park. Most respect the park and want it to thrive for years to come so the children can enjoy it.

It's pretty huge. In fact, it's Maryland's largest state park. I spent 4 days here camping recently and barely scratched the surface. There are lots of hiking trails for all levels. There are numerous bike trails that are flat and easy, including the famous Torrey C. Brown rail trail that goes for about 20 miles and crosses into Pennsylvania. And there's also a fair amount of mountain bike trails that range from moderate to difficult. There are places to swim and picnic too. All of it is family friendly. Essentially, the park is the land all along both sides of the Little Gunpowder Falls River. You'll just have to see it for yourself. I can recommend Jesse's Trail and Pleasantville area loop for mountain biking; Torrey C. Brown rail trail (an all-weather trail made of crushed stone that's flat and smooth) for both hiking and biking; and Hobo Beach for a dip in the water. Parking can be challenging, so the earlier in the day, the better.

In addition to that, it's got circle boat, launches, fuel, sales, and the small fishing shop. This is my first time visiting in the marina, but certainly won't be my last. It was a wonderful, relaxing, paddle boarding outing, with absolutely gorgeous fall colors everywhere.
