My only deduction of one star for this review, had been the two greeters on the first floor by the elevators - both had been very rude / curt. My two visits had both been first thing in the morning and both times I had been the only one in the lobby. So, not sure why they were both miserable on two separate days!!?? Plus, I believe they are volunteers!?! Miserable people shouldn't be dealing with the general public - especially in a hospital setting where patients are typically in a lot of pain and their anxiety levels are generally elevated. I've seen images of my spine enough times that I pretty much know what they're going to tell me already. For the most part it was the same for this visit. However, I did have a new injury that does need adjusting. (Don't go on water slide rides when you're 63!) Dr Johnson was pleasant and friendly. I didn't feel like I was getting the "big sell" that I've experienced many times in the past with chiropractors. I'm not saying that regular visits wouldn't be helpful. But I'm the person who is mostly interested in just getting out of pain. We have limited resources at this time, so that was also a factor. But his prices are so incredibly reasonable. Which is awesome because My situation definitely involves a number of visits. The office was clean the bathroom was clean and nicely decorated. He did my adjustment and then put me on what I can only say is similar to a TENS unit. That was a new experience. Then slathered me down with some kind of icy hot stuff. I feel like I got more care for my money than I've gotten at any other chiropractor before. I walked out of the office knowing that this is a business owned by people with integrity. We do acupuncture first. She does an in-depth analysis without too much judgment of my personal eating habits (ha, ha), followed by amazing needle procedures that are rarely all the same spots (which means she is not doing it mechanically). I can't say how effective the treatment is to health issues, but it never fails to turn me into jello and ready for a long massage. Many times I doze off, it makes me that relaxed. There has never been any pain with the needles. If you have never had Thai massage, you don't know what you are missing. I have had all kinds of massages at some of the world's top spas and resorts, and Thai is absolutely my favorite type. I was so lucky to meet Josie shortly after she returned to this area where she grew up and to find out she does Thai was fantastic news.(You are fully clothed and the therapist works his or her butt off moving you, stretching you, and flexing you. It is like passive yoga.) Josie, although petite, is in great shape and in tune with Spirit. Such a sweet soul. Also she is cheap! I've told her several times she needs to raise her prices. Periodically I will have her mix up some herbs for me. I never had Chinese herbs before meeting her. She has quite a collection of bottles of leaves and powders at the store. I get a kick out of brewing them up at home. She also sells herbs in pill form. Her place is clean and peaceful. And to the other reviewer who stated she doesn't return calls, that has never been my experience and is not in keeping with her personality. Countless times she has returned my calls and texts immediately, and has taken the initiative to text me on weekends to see how the treatments are working! Maybe this reviewer has the wrong number?
