I was not advised concerning use of the code scanner which was dropped into my hand almost rudely as the clerk gave me no instruction other than "Plug it in." I know the staff is not allowed to enter customer vehicles as per Covid-19 dictates, but those dictates do not mandate poor, irresponsible customer service nor do the current restrictions call for abandonment and disregard of patrons. The BRIGHT SPOT of my visit , and recipient of many KUDOS, is HERO 'Officer Zannie,' the security officer who lent me the light from his flashlight and google-searched to find the location in my ILX of the scanner input port. From his front door post, he described the location of the input port, and I was able to end 20 minutes of unsuccessfully searching for the port, a search during which I received not one bit of help from the members of the Auto Zone staff. On the contrary, one Autozone clerk had the nerve to walk to the store's front door and ask indignantly and aloud, "She didn't get the code YET??!" How rude, unprofessional, and irresponsible! Nonetheless, thanks to the courteous, professional, responsible 'ZANNIE," I completed an unfamiliar and difficult task. Good thing he actually cared, seeing me stretched upside down across my front seat, my head stuck under my dash and my mind in utter dismay! He came to my rescue for customer safety purposes and to help an abandoned damsel in distress! It is that type of qualitative and caring service that will help businesses maintain patronage during these times of economic downturn and crisis! Thank you, Officer and Gentleman Zannie! I hope AutoZone gives you due commendation and reward! I hope this store starts to value and appreciate customers! If not, more of us will be patronizing Salvo and other such auto parts businesses just as I plan to do the next time I need auto parts! Needless to say, when the negligent Autozone clerk pulled up the part that I needed to buy as per the code which showed on the scanner, I passed on buying and politely informed him that I would not be purchasing the part at that time. I should've added: "...nor in this store at any time".

They did the oil change and 2 days later I noticed Oil Spills on my driveway underneath the vehicle, I went to my Shop (Certified) that works on my vehicle and they determined that they installed the Oil filter Wrong and that the oil pressure sensor and oil filter housing was also damaged due to the Oil Change service. I went back to the location in Owings Mills location and spoke to the Location Manager who told me to put a claim to their headquarters. I filed the claim and meanwhile my vehicle was not drivable and had to be towed to a shop. After the diagnostic by a certified mechanic it was determined that due to the oil change not being done correctly the Oil pressure Sensor, Oil Filter housing was damaged and needed to be repaired and this would destroy my motor. I submitted the mechanic's diagnostic report plus pictures taken from my driveway and I got one phone call back that the received my claim and I should hear back from them. It's been 3 days now and after calling them they claimed the vehicle had leaks before and that they wouldn't pay for the repairs but will refund me the oil change amount. I asked to speak with someone to discuss the grounds of why they determined that and they told me I would hear back from a district manager who has yet to reach me, they NEVER call, nor email. This HAS been a very unprofessional experience from a big company. PLEASE Pay extra attention if you use their services for oil change or anything because they don't take responsibilities of any claims and am no left with a DAMAGED vehicle that I have to pay for a Large BILL due to their FAULT... If you would've told me that someone was hurt, I would've taken it back the next day. But that option was not provided and then I was made to feel bad about it when I complained that the appointment took so long. They also misdiagnosed a problem with vibration in my vehicle. I ended up replacing the front struts, which probably would've needed it down the road, but it was not urgent or the cause of my problem. They also quoted over $500 more than any local shops for the struts. They were even more expensive than mitis! And they wanted a down payment as a deposit for the work. I've never seen this before. Not just here but anywhere! The kicker is that it was not the struts at all, instead there was a driveshaft problem that they should've seen because I asked them to look at the alignment, steering, and rear differential. They also missed the fact that a rear strut was leaking during that same check (which should've been obvious if they were actually checking the rear differential fluid). When I called to ask why the service was so inconsistent with the actual issue, and to see if they would issue me a refund based on the extra work I had done because of them, I was hung up on. I'm not sure what's going on with the manager but she used to be a very nice person. Not lately. Don't get me wrong, are used to rave about this place. I even took down a five star review in which I joked that I hope they did not get too popular because I liked getting good appointment times. I wish this place was good. They were good for a long time. Not anymore. Watch yourself. Who asks for a deposit especially from a long term customer - over six years I've been going there and always trusted their suggestions and prices. Maybe COVID has affected the way they do business.

They will mention sales going on but I have used them for several cars and have left satisfied every time. Today we weren't sure if 2 tires has leaks and if one wheel an the interior part was rubbing the tire or had a nick that was creating a little leak in tires that had been on that wheel so before ordering tires in my size ( the treads are in good condition) they thought that they may need to patch to tires to the rims but after a thorough dunk test- looking for holes and really looking at the 2 tires and the wheel and inside the area around the tire and the breaks and break fluid they said that it was unusual for tires to need air often but they were fine and in about 7500 miles or before keep an eye on the treads and to return if the one tire loses air more often and the bill was low and fair. I have always been treated with respect and appreciate their feedback and they are understanding if you can replace one or two tires and need to wait a few weeks to change the other 2. They actually sold me 4 once but I got an emergency call so they finished putting 2 on and held the other 2 until I could come back a few days later. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and does good work and they won't sell you what you don't need unless you want it. The manager is great as is the assistant manager. Highly recommend!
