We moved our horse to Leg Up Stables in January within 1 month the horse had lost around 100lb. By the 2nd month it was 200lb. We then confronted the issue by asking to up the grain and the owner told us she would. Then by the 3rd month the horse was now 300lb under weight. We were now believing that the horse was having a medical issue since he was eating 2x the amount of grain he was when we dropped him off. The vet came out this last month (the 4th month) the horse was now 500lb underweight and the vet advised us to move the horse. The horse is now going to have regain all the weight back over the next 6 months. The owners continued to lie to us and even lied to the vet. They also have a policy of not giving the horse water in stalls so that the horses will not pee in the stall. The hay huts were left empty in the pastures for 2 weeks at a time. All of this has led to our horse being malnourished and having to have time off to recoup after this terrible experience. I advise that no one trust them to take care of their horses. We will never be coming back. read more
