Was in town visiting family and my mom wanted to Horseback. JB and his team were great hosts. They were flexible with our time schedules and the horses were so gentle! To boot the property is gorgeous and the trail is beautiful! It rained a bit on our tour but the ride was still enjoyable!

If you are looking for a great way to spend time in the outdoors and see some incredible scenery while on the back of a steed this is the place. The horses are beautiful and the people working or volunteering are genuine. The trails wander through woods and fields with views of the valley and New River. The cost is so reasonable as well. My colleagues and I will be back again and again!

JB is a great host who is knowledgeable and treats the horses right. The property is a beautiful part of Radford you would never know existed beforehand. Pricing is more than fair for what you get out of it.

I be taken kids here 5 times in last 18 months. this past ride was 6 kids. yes 6 kids. owner is kind, patience, horses are Well taken care of and the staff that helps are as nice as the owner J.B. beautiful horses, beautiful rides. highly recommend. read more

People are nice but when it comes to the horses it is a hit or miss, we had a solid time in the beginning, but once we were halfway through the trail the horse my girlfriend was riding started showing signs of being spooked. About 5 minutes later, one of the dogs scares it and it takes off running. My girlfriend then is bucked out of her stirrups and is hanging on the horse while it proceeds to trot around and try and buck her off. I'm a decently strong individual and even then I don't think I could've held onto the horse while it was bucking. Eventually the guide tells her to let go and she does and the horses runs off. I expected that at the least we would be compensated for the rides but the owner didn't offer anything. She now has bruises all on the side of her leg and they aren't small by any means. I'm not a person that writes reviews, but genuinely you should be cautious about going here because it could be you the next time the horse gets spooked. read more

If you have any second thoughts about booking a trail ride for your weekend getaway, don't! Skyline Stables were amazing to us during our two hour trail ride. The guides are very fun and very helpful. Our main guide was Jonathan and he was an amazing guide! He was very knowledgeable in horse riding and answered questions ranging from the property we were riding on to the rodeo. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. They really made my girlfriend's birthday weekend fun for our group of 4! read more

JB Simpkins and Jonathan Hylton invite you come and enjoy the great outdoors on a one or two hour horseback ride on one of our beautiful and natural trails on our 480 stable and farm. We have beautiful trails that go along the ridge that overlooks the New River. Trails that go through rolling hills, meadows, and wooded areas. Our experienced guides lead the way. We provide the horse, tack, and helmet. Open year round. Appointment is required. Riders must be 7 years or older. Helmet required for riders under 18 years of age. $50 per hour per rider. Same day ride is $60 per hour per rider. Liability Waiver is required and can be found on our website. We offer pasture boarding for $250 per month that includes daily feeding and water. Boarders have access to trails, indoor and outdoor arenas, and stalls if needed. Summer Horsemanship Camps are offered for beginners and intermediate/advanced riders in June, July and August.

First the good. The two barn ladies are very good and do the best they can with 30+ horses. Most…read morefacilities this size run with more help, but when you understand how they take care of your horse you'll understand how they do it with only two people. Unless you have a very strong minded large gelding, I would recommend not letting them put your horse in the backfield. Those horses are big and aggressive. If you pay $650 for stall board, that only means that they will eat inside. Horses are not led into the stalls, they run into the stalls and they leave the stall doors open all day which leaves opportunity for multiple horses to get into one stall. Somewhere in this practice my horse was injured, it was unwitnessed but when I left two hours prior to feeding time the horse was perfectly sound and when I came back he was dragging his left front leg. Unless you pay extra charges they will not put your horse in during the day when it's hot, they will not put your horse in during storms. That's pasture board to me. Second read that board contract very carefully, any additional services always cost more money they are up front about that, but no concessions are made even when your horses left 3 weeks prior to their end date. They do not have any holding pens for incoming horses, so there is no quarantine area. There is no small paddocks for rehabbing horses for individual turn out, so it's not a good rehab facility in my opinion. Outside arena is very pretty, but it is very deep in the back left hand corner. Trails were very nice. All in all I'm going to say that it wasn't worth the money I've spent, owners are not long-term professional horse people, but if you like an air conditioned bathroom it's a great place.

Sheila worked with my timid seven year old niece who told me with saucer eyes that the small pony they had saddled for her was "big" and got her comfortable enough to ride for one hour on the trails with the rest of her family. I have attended more championship level swim meets at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center aka CAC…read morethan probably any other. So why such a tardy review? It's just been overlooked for seven years. Sometimes it seems like I live at a pool since I'm on the road around the country conducting swim meets as an official. Often my son competes at the same meets. The center is funded by the city of Christiansburg and Virginia Tech as the team trains and competes at CAC. The pool is roughly eight years old. The location is in town. Parking is limited which always creates issues with large meets. Off street parking is free and legal if no signs. There is an athlete drop off in front. It's not covered. Parking in the rear near the pool is for hospitality, coaches and officials. My most recent visit was my son attending a Breaststroke clinic with VT head coach Sergio Lopez last December. The deep end diving area was utilized for the small two day camp with 22 participants. The centers competition pool is a 50 meter Olympic size with platform diving. Pool temps have always been correct. Air temps are comfortable. Deck space is limited and is an issue with large meets. Air quality is fair. The spectator area is large and good from most seats. CAC has a nice digital scoreboard. However the location at the very end is not optimal. The facility is immaculately kept. The venue also has an Adventure pool with slide. This pool is used for warm up/cool down during competitions. Swim lessons are also conducted here. It's a nice bright area with windows top to bottom. I'm sure I will be back at some point. But CAC is not currently on my 2020 schedule.

Matt Stump and JB Simpkins are just good folks. They are honorable and kind and they like to see their customers happy. I have been keeping my new horse at their stables and am very happy with her care. I love that they have an indoor arena, and the trails are breath-taking.
